A NEW YEAR, A NEW START.
Sunday 28th. Boxing day wasn’t one of my greatest betting wise, but thankfully it didn’t stop our celebrations as we have had such a good year making over 500 points profit (that is all live tipping to paying clients) and Rome wasn’t built in a day. Our unlucky December well that’s what I like to say and believe anyway, with two many seconds and just to mention a few BARAKILLA 2nd 10/1, PINE CREEK 2nd a head 20/1 advised, BENVOLIO 2nd a head advised 16/1, BRIGLIDORA 2nd a nose 6/1, YARNWORTH 2nd missing us out on a win trixie and there must be about ten others as well, but others may just say crap tipping, if you pay your hard earned your entitled to your own opinion that’s what I say and believe.
The LATE service had a good start to the day as JOLLYALLEN bolts in than it goes down hill from than on as LUSKA LAD never jumps a twig and the good Doctor pulls his AFICIONADO out on a vets certificate, so a level day.
The turkey was cracking again and the company was just as good. The Great Alfonze was in sparkling form and was even participating in our Sloeorgasms. The girls had certainly got a liken for them and my supply of the four litres of Sloe Gin mixed with the bubbly was disappearing as quickly as the brides nighty. Somehow my oldest Lauren was plastered by 3pm and for once Oliver had to be the sensible one their Little Layla had her first real Christmas as she is now nearing three. Steph our middle one was well on the way and was as hyper as ever and was the main protagonist to the Great Alfonzes demise by constantly topping his glass up and when he finally passed out it was her bright red lipstick lipstick that gave his face a full makeover to the delight of the camera happy our youngest Georgia and ultimately to the delight of all hers and our Facebook friends, wicked little sods, thank god I was awake because it makes me cringe to think, heheheh imagine all my December knockers seeing me looking like Boy George, they would of loved that I’m sure.
Eventually the cheese and biscuits and port arrives as if we really needed any of it, but whether we did or not there was not much left.
Saturday 27th. Once again my whole day was going to evolve around our anti-post bet on BENVOLIO at 16/1 in the Welsh national. My Saturdays column was not my best, but neither was I, so I was really pleased when I got a call telling me that CHATEZ had done a sparkling piece of work at home and was going into todays race surrounded in confidence and than onto the Triumph hurdle. I emailed CHATEZ out to my clients and also put him up as my free Saturday tip.
The Hunter Chaser came through but as the ground had gone slightly against him I didn’t put him up as our expected maximum, but as he has so much class we thought he might still cope with it.
Steve called me just before racing telling me that the Nigel Twiston-Davies BRISTOL DE MAI had settled in really well since leaving France and was expected to go very close on his British Debut and the work he had showed at home he was thought to be worthy of being a Triumph hurdle hope for them. Knowing this information and him trading at 4/1 I decided to personally bet him maximum and also advise the same to the LATE SERVICE clients.
With everything complete and fingers firmly crossed we headed down to our local, with the laptop so we could enjoy hopefully a successful days racing.
We met a friend of the Alfonzes who seemed a very nice man to start with but as the alcohol consumption increased so did his stories, until Alfonze told him to shut up.
We were more tolerant of him as our day got off to the perfect start as BRISTOL DE MAI bolted in by an untroubled six lengths and certainly looks another very exciting recruit to the Twiston-Davies ranks earning the LATE SERVICE 38 points profit as he drifted to an incredible price of 6/1 and not doing his Cheltenham credentials any harm in the process.
How well did BENVOLIO travel during the race and two out I was convinced our luck and month had been turned round in one foul swop. Unable to hold my emotions after not the easiest of months, shall we say, I screamed him all the way home after the last only to hold my head in my hands as I can see we have just been beaten on the line by a head AGAIN and in so many weeks a big priced anti post shot had JUST evaded us. The Alfonze isn’t so great as he had BRISTOL DE MAI, BENVOLIO and CHATEZ in an ew trixie and the next hour is all about what ifs and if only’s.
Sunday morning. A really nice winning day for my LATE SERVICE and another so very close one for my ANDY BELLs clients. I am truly gutted for you all at the moment and imagine how I am feeling as I am backing all these to large stakes as well. Poor Sam Twiston-Davies with his two so nearly rides on PINE CREEK and BENVOLIO has cost me in excess of 15k and I’m sure you bundles as well. The only solace I can take from it is we have had a great year winning over 600 points, but how good would only one of Sam’s rides winning have been.
It’s a quiet day with only one selection going out which was BENEFIT IN KIND who was travelling well when he fell 2 out it’s impossible to say with any certainty but the way the other two jumped and finished it’s fair to say we would of gone very close.
Monday 29th. We have some decent racing again today and I like both the cards, ours at Newbury and Leopardstown across the water.
Although I have had a fantastic festive period a few extra winners would of been the icing on the cake, but we can’t do it all the time and it looks as if December is going to be my second losing month of the year. But it’s not over until the fat one sings, but I have to be realistic.
On today’s email I am very strong on the last time out very impressive Newbury winner CARRIGMOORNA ROCK at 9/4 and I build our whole day round him. I suggest a big single bet on him and two ew doubles, CARRIGMOORNA ROCK at 9/4 and PHONE HOME at 9/2 and CARRIGMOORNA ROCK at 9/4 and BLAKLION at 11/4.
The LATE SERVICE has made a mini resurgence in the last few days and I get a very strong word for the Nicky Henderson French trained import TOP NOTCH at 11/10. I have been against a few of the Henderson short priced runners this year, but the French form suggests he has the beating of his main Harry Fry rival.
Unfortunately I seem to have picked up a couple of bad losers, non of us like losing certainly not me, but these moaners could at least make constructive comments and not just make them selves look silly, Betfan have suggested I just ban them from my Facebook page, that’s too easy and a wimps way out, when they realise I have to work hard for my winners and Indiana Jones hasn’t found me the holy grail of racing and losing is actually possible, fortunately not long term for us I hasten to add, they will move on and annoy someone else.
Our day gets of to the best possible start when TOP NOTCH wins at a good sp of 11/8 as all the money came for the Harry Fry charge.
PHONE HOME just misses out on a place and is fourth which is very annoying as it scuppers one of our ew doubles and even worse as BLAKLION finishes third after leading all the way and spoils another ew double chance again and yes he is on Facebook again, have a look everyone on andybellracing Facebook page, with his views, which is ok as he pays his money has his say, but it could at least be constructive and fair lol.
My main bet CARRIGMOORNA ROCK bolts in as I was told and expected and saves our day, not a word from Mr Facebook knocker after his earlier comments.
An up and down day again a very nice winning day for the LATE SERVICE and a losing day for ANDY BELL all be it rather unfortunate again.
Tuesday 30th. MOULIN ROUGE looks to be chucked in today after his running on second last time over shorter. He is my main bet of the day and in an attempt to turn our month round I pop ALLEZ VIC and PIRATE COVE in an ew trixie with him.
Something I very very seldom do is put the same horse on both my services, but I am so sweet on MOULIN ROUGE I also put him on the LATE SERVICE at 9/4.
This afternoon I am going to be concentrating on Thursdays cards just in case things are a shade fuzzy early doors. I am quite interested in SPLASH OF GINGE who was going very well when falling last time, the only problem is CAID DU BELAIS also runs in the same race (our 20/1 anti post Paddy Power winner) who still looks on a decent mark. Nicky Henderson also runs his very well thought of VANITEUX against ROCK ON RUBY in the hurdle.
PIRATE COVE is a shade slow getting out and is a fast finishing second. I think ALLEZ VIC must of been feeling the effects of two quick races and the way he jumped I wouldn’t be surprised if he is found to have a small niggle somewhere. MOULIN ROUGE is pushed a shade wider than ideal turning for home but from the furlong post could of always been backed in running as the winner. ALEZ VIC spoils our ew trixie, which results in a small losing day.
Better news for the LATE SERVICE clients as their only bet MOULIN ROUGE resulted in another winning day for them.
Wednesday 31st. How quick has this year gone. I was reading my book this morning and this time last year I was the new boy in Betfan and was sitting top of the tree with over 100 points profit and had made over 250 in my first six months. How different this month has been as we have been struggling with constant bad luck and misfortune and on the verge of banking our second losing month of the year, although we have made nearly 500 points profit this year, which is very acceptable with most people and in most circles.
I am also glad that Betfan has seen that it makes sense to put all the tipsters on the same pointing system 1-5 so all existing and new customers alike can really see who can make them long, YES LONG, term profits. I still think that the integration period from Tipster Planet to live needs looking at and changing as we see so many huge profits come out of there and they take a lot of us existing tipsters clients, which has happened to me and others than unfortunately they dramatically flop and things quickly go tits up (not all I hasten to add) when they are really live and the customer is lost. I have done an extensive survey on all the new services that have joined us live boys in the last six months and it makes astonishing reading, I shall speak to the powers to be and see if it’s ok to publish it next week.
I am surprised that more of the established tipsters haven’t mentioned this, but maybe they are happy to plod along and are not unduly concerned about losing their loyal clients, well I’m certainly not and at the end of the day business is business and if the powers to be can make their margins from new services who cares about ANDY Bell and co.
Betfan, punters and myself are all alike I suppose, fresh meat is always better and the grass always seem greener, that’s life, personally if I get other or better offers from elsewhere which pays more bills make better margins I would think about trying it also and would hope it didn’t come back to bite me on the arse, because like Betfan and most good punters we don’t want to be plodders and always want to better ourselves.
Although we did have a winner today with SHYRON I couldn’t find anything to go with her and we finished the month in much the same vein as we started, losing. Sorry guys and gals a dismal showing from me, especially when I tried so hard as I know December is an important month all I can say is thankfully we have had a great winning year and made just under 500 points profit, which is better than stacking shelves and I’m sure it’s been useful. Next year I am going to do even better and aided with this brilliant new contact who can see things even I can’t and supplies me and us with the most fantastic anti post bets, as you have witnessed first hand this is another string to our bow. I already have three for the Cheltenham festival which I will give as soon as the dead wood has gone and we have a our happy little family again.
Hope you all have a great night out or in, whatever is your preferred and see the New Year in safely and are able to open tomorrow’s emails in a new year with a new start.
HAPPY NEW YEAR 2015. Hope it all went well last night and your not suffering to much this morning. We had four friends round the Alfonze and Kim, Hilts and Dafney and I always put my culinary skills to the test. The evening progressed very well the food was gratefully received and washed down with far to much wine. We did light the bonfire and thankfully no hedgehogs had taken refuge. Luckily the wind was in the right direction because it was the biggest yet and the fireworks were the perfect accompaniment. Midnight was soon upon us and Sharon and the Great Alfonze had to be awoken from their drunken slumbers to greet the new year. I think we finally wrapped the evening or early morning up at about 4am.
8am is here in a flash and it’s business as usual as we have some really good racing today, especially at Cheltenham, where we should get some more pointers for March.
Well done the years top three services Unity racing, Click Tipster and Golf Bet Gold who were all integrated during this year from the Tipster Planet platform, although I still have my reservations about how they will perform in the long term now fully up and running with their own clients, as to date I haven’t seen any earth shattering results or big profits since being totally live, but that is only my personally opinion and time will tell, I hope I am wrong and sincerely wish them all the very best for 2015.
We need to hit 2015 running after I badly blotted my copybook in December. My first email of the year is sent and the much improved Neil King charge ZEROSHADESOFGREY at 5/2 is our first bet and I also add the Catterick runner MR GREZ at 11/4.
Hoping to also get the LATE SERVICE off to a flyer we go across the water to Tramore and back WEST OF THE EDGE at 2/1.
I am at a miss to why Trevor Whelan doesn’t take the bull by the horns on ZEROSHADESOFGREY as there is no pace at all and over this inadequate 2 1/2 miles and make it a proper test from the front on this proven 3mile stayer. My fears are reality as we jump the last and he hasn’t the pace to pick up the proven 2 and a 1/2 milers and disappoints in third. Not the start to 2015 I had anticipated or wanted.
Things very quickly improve as WEST OF THE EDGE wins nicely and kicks the LATE SERVICES year off to the perfect winning start.
My day now firmly depends on MR GREZ and he doesn’t let us down by leading all the way and winning at a very well backed 9/4 making our 11/4 look a good price.
After a dodgy start both my services have made nice first day profits……. Phew……
I have just received a very strong message for two horses running tomorrow at Southwell and decide to email them out tonight in case the prices disappear. WESTMINSTER runs first and is trading at 5/4 and SLEET is in the next at 7/4.
Friday 2nd. I was pleased to make profits on both services yesterday and hopefully we have turned the corner. I have already emailed out two bets on my ANDY BELLs service. The form on ANOTHER BILL in the last is the best on show so I decide to email him out to the LATE SERVICE and suggest taking the early price of 15/8 as I’m told that he is going to be punted.
With all my work done it’s a trip to see mother to make sure she’s ok pop into Mr Jolly’s and give him the heads up on a Huntingdon race trip next Friday and hopefully hope he is well enough to make it and than on to Fathers for tea.
Westminster is popped out of the stalls and leads all the way for an easy win at 5/4 and a perfect start to the day. SLEET is very uneasy in the market as the money comes for Captain Baileys runner and unfortunately it’s goodnight nurse and we have done our money within 50 yards of the stalls opening as we are totally carved up on the rail and are pushed firmly to the rear ten lengths of the pace. We do flatter to deceive as we attempt to make a run up the rail turning for home but are carved up again and he did really well to finish third. We need to pop SLEET in our notebooks for next time.
Maybe things really have turned our way as we WIN in a photo finish with ANOTHER BILL at 11/10, thankfully we took the 15/8 early doors.
SLEETS bad luck in running has cost us a winning day on my ANDY BELL service and we finish up with a small loss. The LATE SERVICE has backed another winner and bagged another winning day.
Saturday 3rd. Tolworth day at Sandown and what a disappointing turnout L’ AMI SERGE to me looks an amazing 1/2 shot if that makes sense, on times at Ascot over the same trip he was 15seconds quicker than JOLLYS CRACKED IT and on soft that equates to anything from 16-18 lengths superior. I would of thought SHELFORD will lead, JOLLYS jumping will let him down and L’AMI will take it up and win as and when he wishes and in the process he will shorten from his 14/1 for the Supreme Novices.
Free Tip – 2:40 Wincanton EARTHMOVES 7/4 various.
Just for you knockers lol….lol….
My New Year’s Resolution: To tolerate fools more gladly, provided this does not encourage them to take up more of my time……….AB.
Happy New Year.
Never, never, never give up or say no!!!!
Back next Saturday.
