Andy Bell’s Racing Diary – A 6k Chill. (Sat 27th – Fri 3rd June 2015)

July 4, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Saturday 27th. Oi oi I’m in Weatherspoon’s at Stansted airport knowing that I personally relieved the Greedy 1’s of nearly 7k yesterday with the help of our maximum bet TIZLOVE REGARDLESS just about leading all the way at a super SP of 7/2 and the icing was firmly put on the cake as our SOLAR FLAIR who I advised at 9/2 absolutely bolted in at 5/2 making us all just under 40 points profit for the day and through my Betfan network and also odds2 punters who knows what we took out of the industry yesterday, what ever it was it wasn’t nearly enough.

I must say it’s rather the hair of the dog this morning as I am badly hanging and I can’t really remember much about Madness who were performing at Newmarket last night, all I do know is I was Madness itself. We had a table and formed a right nice school at the back of the stand right beside the walkway watching the sights walk past. I don’t remember Madness girls like that in my day but we had a right good time and goodness knows what and how many bottles we consumed, I did a right nice gig to “Baggy Trousers” although with hindsight I am very glad their was no video recording evidence, but who cares everybody was happy and we’re all safe to tell the tale.

We must now be hovering around the 150 points profit for this month with only a few days to go, get in there my son.

Anyway I’m now going to be away until Wednesday the 8th I think as I’m back for ladies day on Thursday the 9th for the three day July cup meeting which I love and habitually do very well in. After four losing specials maybe I will get the call to put the old firm back on track.

As I said in my closing ceremony yesterday in last weeks diary get off your butts and put these winnings to good use please.

At least it’s not going to take me many glasses to top up this morning to get me into smartie pot mode and before you know it I shall be eating rabbit, lobster, snails, loads of freshly caught fish and drinking good home brewed wine and the local Cisk XL.

The Wi-Fi is very good in here and I have even been lucky enough to pitch up at the same table I was last month with the plugs and sockets right beside me, great start to the day all I need now are a couple more winners and we are rocking and rolling.

Once again the smartie pot has done its job and we land to 30 degree temperatures, rather like Greedy Joe’s was yesterday lol.

There is no time to chill as my bro, Ian and the charming Grat with Guz are at the airport to pick us up and we head back to our apartment where we’re staying in Rabat to dump our stuff. It’s lucky as we don’t need to pack hardly anything as most is already here.

A quick spruce and change into more appropriate attire and Gitty and I are heading to what I am told is the best firework display on the island at Qrendi.

The fireworks are amazing and even more so when they fail and explode on the ground making a six feet crater. Until I saw the fireworks I had absolutely no idea they were up to seven feet tall and 2 feet wide, amazing things they look like skud missiles. The firework display was truly amazing, the best I have seen and it went on for nearly two hours.

We retired in to one of the local bars and I think we finally hit the sack at around 4am.

Sunday 28th. It’s market day in Rabat and we walk from our apartment up the hill between the stalls and rock up at the Pjizza or more aptly named the Sunday bar by us.

I only have the one selection today and that is the 15/2 shot SILVER MAN ew at Uttoxeter.

We soon have a full school and it looks as if we are set for the afternoon with people arriving periodically during the day.

All the girls are in their finery, Doris, Guz, Grace, Agatha and lots more. I’m acting like a typical Malteser today drinking, eating tripe, snails and pasta and than sleeping before we head to Ian and Grat’s at Mosta for a sushi evening.

A bit of local history for you, the church in Mosta like most of Malta was bombed during world war 2 and it was during a Sunday morning service that a bomb came through the roof and landed in the middle of the packed congregation and luckily failed to explode. It now sits in pride of place at the front of the church, knowing what the Maltese are like it probably still hasn’t been made safe.

I watch SILVER MAN run via the Wi-Fi on my iPad and I think we are a shade unlucky not to bag a 15/2 nice Sunday winner, I think we bumped into one, but the info was again spot on and we made a small profit on the day as he finished a clear second.

Monday 29th. The sushi was spot on last night and even better when the Wasabi hit the back of your throat it took your breath away momentarily. I am reliably informed that the four of us consumed six bottles of wine, my excuse is, it was the wasabi. I thought I felt a bit frosty this morning, not forgetting that was on top of a lunch time session.

We are heading up to Vince’s bar this morning, I have to, honest because that’s where the best Wi-Fi is, it just happens the Cisk XL is also a euro a bottle, not my fault, if the Church had Wi-Fi maybe I would sit in there.

With all my two selections at Windsor sorted and emailed out for tonight’s racing we head to our favourite place again today Gnenja bay and the added bonus is the General (Johnny) has gone fishing early doors, so hopefully that’s our dinner sorted.

We pick Guz up which isn’t a chore as she is the resident chef and a very good one at that. We are very lucky parking at the best of times in Malta is a nightmare and at Gnejna on a holiday Monday is virtually impossible, but we luckily know the Parker and cop him three euros and the keys and he will sort it.

As we arrive my eyes light up, just the same as when Greedy Joe opens his satchel, because we have a pile of assorted fish waiting to be gutted and descaled than straight in the pot for fish soup and the best ones fried with garlic and coated in semolina.

I get a call from Newmarket telling me we will have a maximum bet on Saturday and nothing less than a win is expected, so we have that to look forward to.

We return to Rabat a stone heavier after our combined cocktails of fish, XL and Maltese wine.

Tuesday 30th. Windsor didn’t do us any favours last night as the best we got from our two bets was a second and that was on the nose. We are still bang up there with nearly 140 points profit so far this month with only today remaining, so whatever happens we have had a cracking month. Although I must admit I would like to surpass the 150 points profit barrier because we are now on a 1-5 points basis, not 1-10 as we were than and it would better my best ever month, which was 300 points profit last June.

With that in mind we will never get rich backing 6/5 favourites but a winner is a winner so I put up the very well touted ZAEEM who is fully expected to win, I also decide as Steve really likes PORTERS WAR at his favourite track Stratford to put the two in an ew double.

It proved as I said in my email this morning that ZAEEM was a giveaway price this morning at 6/5 as he bolts in at a smashed up 4/7 giving us our first leg in our ew double. As most good ew bets or ew doubles PORTERS WAR smashes up the sixth fence and never quite recovers to finish a typical fourth.

My father arrives tonight and we are meeting him at the newly refurbished hotel the Seashells in Qawra, which used to be Qawra Palace.

Wednesday 1st. A small losing day to end a fantastic month of June with us making over 130 points profit and putting all but one of these super new get rich quick systems to bed and to shame as it always is when their on our live with punters platform. Anyway well done to Fantastic Eights as you were the only one of the five new systems to make a profit and prove yourself worthy, keep it up because ultimately it’s not only good for you it’s good for all our businesses if we don’t have poor tipsters among us.

We kick off the new month with the good Doctors trained AFICIONADO who has been campaigned on both hurdles and fences and today he is expected to go very close. Also on the same email I advise a win bet on PUMAFLOR at 4/1.

It’s the Reginas birthday bash tonight in Rabat, Doris is one of our longest serving friends and has hit the big 60 so it should be a night to remember and if I do so I shall report all tomorrow.

I still can’t believe that AFICIONADO got beat and more so that he didn’t get it in the stewards room afterwards, so a very unlucky start to the month and it doesn’t improve as PUMAFLOR gets beaten a neck at 7/2. So we kick off day one with two very unfortunate seconds.

Thursday 2nd. A losing day yesterday which could of so easily been a very good winning one, that’s the small margins we work on.

It should be Great Yarmouth races today, but the grass still isn’t ready and they are now hoping to be ready for the August bank holiday meeting.

It’s very quiet today and all I have received is the short priced DANNYDAY who runs at Haydock this afternoon, so that’s it I’m afraid.

I’m off fishing with the General today and the Maltese pull the piss out of me because I wear gloves to pull the lines in as my hands get cut to shreds and blisters. Pulling in six long lines in with 100 hooks on a time is no easy chore especially when they get constantly snagged on the bottom, but it’s worth it, it’s great fun and so quiet out there a far cry to what I’m used to.

We make a good catch three big eels and five various others and one of them I’m told is the best to eat.

I arrive back to another second and another neck as DANNYDAY looked all over the winner and just got mugged on the line. That’s three bets this month and three seconds a shade annoying to say the least.

Friday 3rd. Let’s hope for a change in luck today and we bang in our first winner or winners of the month.

It’s the start of the Rabat Saint Paul’s weekend festa and we kick off tonight with a street party, if anything like last year it will be great fun and very boozy, although I have to be a bit sensible as I have promised my Bro Ian I will be up at 6am in the morning to go get the nets in which he put out yesterday evening.

It’s working out to be a very busy day and let’s hope it will be as profitable as last week was.

I have two selections at Sandown and one at Haydock tonight which I have emailed out as various singles, doubles and an ew treble.

That’s it for this week another one has slipped by and we will soon all be at the July festival.

Have a good un, speak soon.

Back next Saturday.
