The weather continues to play havoc with racing mainly due to water logging and even today there are early morning inspections at Newbury and Newcastle.
So it’s great to see the tracks with artificial surfaces mainly keeping the show on the road. It was nice to see the track at Chelmsford back in business and a few more like that up North or in Scotland would be a super addition to the equine industry.
I was watching the racing on the box yesterday and General Tufto who has run 150 times was a ready winner at the age of ten.
It was great to see and what a credit to racing the old boy is. There won’t be any fanfares from the likes of Claire Balding, Nick Luck or Simon Holt but the gelding does as much for racing as any Cheltenham or Ascot winner.
I am pleased to report that the General was a 9/1 winner for Betting Opportunity and also a 27/1 winner on Fold4Gold as he was tipped in a Lucky 15 bet.
I was recently asked again what are my favourite bets? Which is easily answered there are two that stand out for me, firstly the Lucky 15 where you can win a fortune for small stakes plus the one winner with certain bookies pays you treble odds. I do however think this bet is made for big price selections not favourites.
The other bet I like and my most profitable is my place and win system on Betfair loaded 80% in favour of the place market.
I make a regular income from this bet and it’s so simple if you have the right knowledge. In the last two weeks just two horses have made me substantial sums one being the General Tufto and the other being Rakaan these horses have either won or been placed 7 times in recent weeks.
A few of my private clients have asked me if I was prepared to run a new advisory service based on this system and I have been giving it serious thought.
My problem is it would not be cheap and I’m not one who believes in low discount short term or free trials as this only attracts the band wagon jumpers who change tipping service every few weeks. It’s very much like the football fans who changed allegiances from their clubs to join Man City and Chelsea when the money arrived.
Of course if Betfan came up with an offer I couldnt refuse I might be tempted to market it with them. So all I can say at the moment is watch this space.
Well last week we managed to find a winner for Howies Hottie with Temple Road who I might add was a recent eyecatcher and Sea Soldier also romped in for them too.
Lets see if we can produce another winning tip today in the shape of Pour La Victoire in the Lingfield 3.35 who was just pipped by Temple Road last week. The Tony Carroll gelding has won over further but seems to be enjoying his sprinting these days. He has the car park draw but if Luke Morris can get him into a decent position from the start he has the pace to win this event.
Mias Boy trainer C.Dwyer – Another old timer who loves the polytrack and was unlucky in running last week.
Ansaab trainer T.Coyle – Just touched off at Lingfield and might have needed the run after an enforced holiday.
Anonymous John trainer D.Evans – Led for most of the journey at Chelmsford but didn’t quite get home. Either a more considerate ride or a drop in trip is the answer.
Kinsmere trainer H.DALY – Ran a super race when 3rd in a staying hurdle but he will be seen to better effect when the ground dries out.
Harry The Viking trainer S.Thompson – This ex Paul Nicholls inmate ran a super race last time but the ground was just a bit to heavy for him.
Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.
