I’m not a big follower of Tennis however you have to admire the dedication of Roger Federer winning the Wimbledon singles final in his mid thirties. The guy never dropped a set during the entire tournament and I believe he must now be rated probably the greatest player in the history of the game.
The thing that puts me off of tennis is all the grunting and groaning when they play shots especially in the women’s matches. Lets face it you woudn’t expect a footballer to make screams every time they took a free kick or a cricketer grunt when going for a boundary.
We are getting close to the start of the football season and the transfer market merry go round has become interesting especially at Man Utd with Lakaku swapping places with Rooney who goes back home to Everton. Mind you I didn’t need to read that old Wayne wears the Toffees pyjamas every night in bed.
We have a varied days racing today with meetings up and down the country and for Howies Hottie I’m playing in the 5.45 Yarmouth on Majestic Moon. The gelding led the field for much of the way in Saturdays Bunbury Cup at Newmarket and today drops a furlong in a lower grade race for female jockeys. Shelly Birkett takes the ride for her mum Julia Feilden and this front runner could give them something to think about if hopefully getting an easy lead at the head of affairs.
Chatoyer trainer R.Hannon Strong finisher at Doncaster.
King of Rooks trainer H.Spiller – Ran well in a competitive sprint after a long time off and will be a fitter horse next time.
UAE Prince trainer R.Varian – Ran very well from a wide draw at York and could be one for Glorious Goodwood.
Sinfonietta trainer D.Menusier – Just out of the money on ground firmer than ideal and will be winning on a softer surface.
Tallulahs Quest trainer Julia Feilden – She told us he had a winning chance at Fos Lass only to be touched off close home. Might be suited by shorter or being held onto for longer.
Back next Wednesday be lucky.
