Sheffield United Can Win The Yorkshire Derby – By Rick Elliott

October 27, 2017 By admin Leave a Comment

Friday nights in Leeds have a certain appeal and attract young people from other parts of Yorkshire and tonight there will be an influx from Sheffield just up the road. However, the visitors won’t be in the city for the bars and clubs but a local derby in the Championship. Sheffield United have won eight of their last tem league matches and can make that nine from eleven tonight.

This fixture for the Blades is the second most important away match of the season and the first went very well. United beat Sheffield Wednesday 4-2 away from home and that result showed the side can perform on the big occasions. They led 2-0, were pegged back and then secured the points with two further goals in the second half. Leeds on their own patch will be a tough nut to crack but SHEFFIELD UNITED are the bet in this match tonight at 9/4 with Coral.

England could be well on the way to defeat in the opening fixture of the Rugby League World Cup when you read this article. They play Australia in Melbourne this morning at 10am UK time. The Aussies are 16 point favourites on the handicap and that seems big. The home side are too strong not to win the fixture but ENGLAND +16 is the standout bet of the day at Evens with bet365.

Proper racing in some people’s eyes resumes today with the opening card of the Cheltenham season which culminates with the four best days of racing in the world at the festival in Match. The highest rated horse in action today is Sceau Royal who was the best hurdler in the field for the novice chase (2.35pm) and won first time out over fences. The penalty for that win should not prevent SCEAU ROYAL from prevailing so the horse should be backed at 6/4 with Ladbrokes.

However, the banker bet of the day is Brillare Momento in the novices’ hurdle at 2.00pm. The horse looked impressive in winning a Listed event at the track’s April meeting and even though the race was nowhere near festival quality it was a decent effort for an inexperienced horse. BRILLARE MOMENTO still qualifies for novices’ hurdles and can win one at Cheltenham today at 11/10 with Betfair.
