A great day yesterday for the Simon Holden Racing Club with two big winners and a 31 point profit haul to kick us into the weekend in style.
I was particularly impressed with the Johnny Portman trained Mrs Danvers at Newbury who was a Max bet for the Club at 100/30!
Portman isn’t a Trainer that springs to mind when you think of Listed Horses but give him the Ammo and the guy can train. Mrs Danvers will now be stepped up to Group Races and this Fairytale might not be finished just yet. It’s great to see cheaply bought horses from tiny yards shaking up the big battalions and showing however cheaply you buy a horse you just never know!!! (it’s still much more likely to be rubbish though)
A busy Saturday for the Simon Holden Racing Club with great racing at Doncaster and Ripon in the North. It all sets up nicely for what I believe is the greatest Flat Racing meeting of them all The Ebor Festival at York. Many of BetFan’s Finest Tipsters (and Andy Bell) will be letting the Train take the Strain and heading North next week to see some of the finest Group Racing and the most keenly contested Handicaps staged anywhere and on a racecourse that caters for everyone from Lords to lower types (we all know a few.)
Simon Holden Racing Club members as befits being members of the most comprehensive betting club out there will get a selection in every race over the four days. This is the the type of bonus that sets the Club apart and is just one of a series of exciting extras in the coming months. I will be in York all week in the heart of the Betting Jungle listening out for any piece of info from the right contacts. I already know where we are going in many of the big races and I can tell you I have never looked forward to an Ebor festival with so much anticipation! If you’re not in the Club then join today and secure this massive Bonus.
Ripon today stage their biggest day of the year and their most valuable race the Great St Wilfred Handicap. I always think it’s a tad ungrateful that he is never there to hand out the prize but there you go. They also stage a consolation race at 3.25 for those that just miss out on the biggie. It’s this race where we go for today’s selection. Tom Dascombe is a superb trainer of sprint handicappers and he has Roudee here drawn in 20. At Ripon you need to be drawn high as there is a real bias and Roudee is drawn perfectly. The horse has real tactical speed and Richard Kingscote should get a good position from which to pounce from. Betvictor go 18/1 which looks very generous.
So the most exciting week of the Flat Season is upon us so why not let me steer you through it at the Simon Holden Racing Club.
Have a great weekend.
Back next Saturday.
