BetFan sent out a limited time special offer on my service last Thursday evening so had a lot of new members expecting some winners starting at Wolverhampton on Friday! Luckily one of my best type of bets occurred, a short price favourite who had shown promise but on Polytrack but was making its Tapeta debut against a three time course winner RICH AGAIN, the early price of 11/2 was one of the bets of the year and he duly bolted up, new clients subscriptions paid for in one hit!
It was onto Lingfield on Saturday for two bets; I fancied them strongly and unusually for me advised not only win singles but to put them in a double as well. CAPTAIN JOY was over from Ireland and was delighted to take the 2/1 as I had him down as an evens chance on my tissue however after the trainer was interviewed on TV before the race where she said it had a bad sailing over and wasn’t sure how it run, he drifted wildly on the exchanges and slightly with the bookies to 9/4, we never had a moments doubt and he won easily, watch for him back here on Good Friday, as I’ve said before never be scared of a drifter. What the trainer didn’t mention was the horse travelled over on the Wednesday and had 4 days to recover! ROYAL ALBERT HALL was up next, he’d ran promisingly behind one of my hotlist horses last time and 11/4 in a 5 runner race was a gift and won well, landing our two singles & double.
The latest new All-Weather course Chelmsford City opened on Sunday. It has a Polytrack surface so Lingfield & Kempton form should translate, with a two furlong run-in you shouldn’t get as many hard luck stories as Lingfield. I wasn’t going to have a bet but just watch and learn, however the early 11/2 It Must Be Faith was to tempting and had to have a go each way as I couldn’t see him out the first three, I thought he had but was just run down close home, but stll a small profit and the fifth winning bet in a row for new clients and well over 40 points profit. I think there is still some time and places left on the offer so come and join Welshy’s All-Weather Winter Wonderland!
Just on note on Chelmsford City, as I said it should be a fair track but the kick back looked harsh and maybe the track was too dry although winners were able to come from off the pace as it’s nice and wide.
Should be a good addition, especially given its proximity to Newmarket, I know it’s the last thing some punters want but you either embrace it or die.
