England 14/1 To Win The World Cup

Harry Kane will captain England during the World Cup and the player believes the team he will be leading in Russia can win the tournament. England have only been world champions in the national sport at home and the best overseas performance was reaching the semi-finals at Italia 90. However, the better squad reached the last eight in Mexico four years earlier and were eliminated by Argentina due to a goal that should not have counted. Diego Maradona punched the ball into the net. His second goal is one of the greatest ever but the dynamic of the game had changed and at nil-nil he would not have had so much space. Any team containing Glenn Hoddle at his best could have won the World Cup but Maradona had his say. ENGLAND don’t have a Hoddle in midfield and are 14/1 with Ladbrokes to win the World Cup.

The domestic leagues around Europe are now complete and the Champions League final is the last fixture of the season and then focus will turn to the World Cup. With no football betting action today bettors may look at cricket with TV fixtures in the One-Day Cup and Indian Premier League. Glamorgan are playing at home against Middlesex after losing their first two matches while the visitors have won and lost one. MIDDLESEX have the batsman in better form so are the team to back at 4/5 with Betfair.  Rajasthan are missing players who have made a major contribution in reaching the playoffs which means KOLKATA are fancied to beat them at 8/15 with William Hill in today’s IPL match.

There is a good jumps card at Warwick today offering over £100,000 in prize money which is decent on a midweek day at this early part of the season. Summer jumping provides opportunities for horses to stay in training and race for significant prize money. The handicap hurdle at 3.45 is an open contest that could be won by any of several runners. The handicap chase 30 minutes later has attracted a small but select field.  SAN BENEDETO has Grade 1 form and can outclass this field so is the racing standout bet of the day at 7/4 with bet365.
