A nice 12/1 advised winner yesterday and a glimmer of hope we are returning to form. It turned into a proper old-fashioned gamble with BERTIE BARNES returning 6/1 and winning by 3l plus even after hitting the last and giving us a fright.
We also had great info on MOUNT CHEIRON at 40/1 we expected an improved effort and the horse ran well coming third. The horse had been showing a bit more at home and is now well handicapped. Certainly one for next race if the price is right.
Tuesday’s Horses In Focus
Hexham 4-25 Handicap Chase (Class 5) 24f – We backed GIBSTOWN last time and I think that was a race too soon. We heard a whisper that he was showing a bit more and they were looking for the win but in hindsight this race is far more suited to the horse 13/2 looks fair a much-improved effort today is on the cards.
Hereford 3-10 Handicap Hurdle (Class 3) 26f – VIEUX LILLE has a great chance today but sadly I fear we have missed the price 8/1 last night now a 9/2 shot. Connections are on today there is probably enough value to get on we made the horse a 7/2 shot when we priced this card.
Wolverhampton 7-45 Handicap (Class 6) 5f – FLY TRUE at 14/1 could be a great bit of value. His best run came at this course and distance off a mark of 67 finishing a close 2nd to you’re cool now rated 79. Coming here for the first time since off a mark of 52. He looks like the bet of the day to me after showing a bit more last time.
Southwell 5-10 NH Flat Race (Class 5) 16f – BOLD PLAN won a point to point maiden before getting snapped up for current connections. A well bred horse with plenty of size and scope. He could go on to be quite smart. 6/1 looks fair. I think an each way lucky 15 covering these 4 horses wouldn’t be a bad bet to make I can see us landing the place money if we don’t get the wins.
