Well it hasn’t been the greatest of weeks here at Unity but we are still in the game. We had a horse that was most unfortunate but is one that we really must mention because he could certainly be a future star.
The horse in question is Danecase
• 3-y-o (10Apr13 ch g)
• Showcasing (6.9f) – Yding (IRE) (Danehill (USA) (9.2f))
• Trainer David Dennis
• Owner Favourites Racing (Syndication) Ltd 6
• Breeder D D & Mrs J P Clee A 3yo gelding by showcasing.
We backed him after watching his last piece of work on the gallops at a huge 33/1 went off at 25/1 sp. The horse travelled sweetly for most of the race and made a move about 3 furlongs out. It was really eye catching the way he pulled hard against the bit and looked to be pulling double. He then hit trouble and became unbalanced. Not his fault at all but the jockey fearing for the safety of the horse had to take a big tug and the horse lost all chance completely. He was then eased off. It was a hot race he contested and like we suspected he has improved again from his 2 year old campaign. He will win some decent pots if they can keep him in good form.
He is a syndicate horse and I know there are still a number of shares available with Dave Dennis. It wouldn’t be the worst investment in the world at this point. We certainly can’t wait to see the horse run again under the right conditions.
A few market reports…
Lingfield 1:50 plenty of money for MONKS STAND in the first but it’s the Johnston runner POETS SOCIETY that is the value price right now and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s this horse that goes off favourite.
Ryan Moore has a good chance of a double today, maybe for safety it should be backed as an e/w double but both BANISH in the 1 mile maiden at 2:20 and CRYPTIC in the 3:25 both have to have big chances today.
Over at NOTTINGHAM – 3:15 MUTARJJIL has a big chance at around 11/4. I would have him down as a strong bet on the card and that is todays free bet.
Not much going on elsewhere so we will leave it there but make sure DANECASE goes in the note book as he is one that will pop up at a price.
Back Next Tuesday.
