We have had a slow week and although the winners have come we had to pay back a few losing bets. Still we are not in a bad position.
Last Tuesday’s horses in focus flagged up enough winning bets to make a profit. Including a rev forecast and winner DOITFORTHEVILLAGE 11/2 – that horse goes again today yet is a little too short for us.
One horse to take from last week’s newsletter was CAPTAIN BOB who ran a great race back from a break. He looks to have tightened up at home and they are combing the entries to find a suitable race. He will win next time is what they are saying to me. Which is very positive but he has to win at the right price! Put him in the note book though.
Let’s get straight to business with… Tuesdays Horses in Focus
NEWCASTLE 1:30 EXCLUSIVE WATERS is flying at home according to connections 4/1 is widely available at the time of writing. He will have to run up to his best to take this but he does have every chance and connections are betting him today. He’s not the only horse trying to win this race though with Percy Verence also looking for a big run.
2:00 Looks a hard race to sort out and you have to respect the favourite MOAYAAD 6/4 looks a little short. Connections think the step up in trip is bound to bring around plenty of improvement. HYDRANT looks over priced at 14/1 and WRIGHT PATTERSON at 10/1 is unexposed and may well get involved today. The same connections have provided plenty of winners for us with their approach of letting horses mature without flogging them. We could have the first 2 here.
2:30 It’s hard to look past ENERGIA FOX with the stable in good form and the weight of money that has gone down over night. 7/2 is fair but nothing special. VICTORIA POLLARD is no mug and is fit returning from a break. While MS GILLARD is an improving sort on our clock and at 11/1 looks forgotten by the market. That must be the value in the race and hence is the selection. I can see the forecast being close here.
3:05 PASS THE TIME is favourite yet doesn’t make it on our speed list so it looks a little too short. RYAN THE GIANT should run well and I can’t help thinking that this race could go at a huge price HE’s MAGIC 20/1 and STRIKE MASTER at 25/1 both bigger on the exchanges look interesting.
3:40 WORLDS HIS OYSTER 13/2 Stan James is the one we are interested in here connections think he has a good chance and hope he will run really well. Stable mate to WRIGHT PATTERSON 10/1 an each way double may not be a bad bet. While MARIEE the favourite should be covered too and not from the same stable but the same owner as MS GILLARD.
HEREFORD 2:10 connections think they have COTSWOLD ROAD ‘right’ for today the trip should bring out the best in the horse. This trainer is known for getting a horse fit so there shouldn’t be any problems on that front. 9/2 looks a good enough price to me.
MARKET RASEN 3:25 I can’t help thinking that this race could go to something near the bottom of the weights. Conor Dore is back in form after a spell in the doldrums and his MOSS STREET at 66/1 makes some each way appeal.
Back Next Tuesday.
