Two weeks ago I wrote about betting for fun or for profit and how I’d come to the realisation that not everyone was into quitting the day job and just wanted to bet for fun. Suffice to say that no-one betting for fun wants to lose money!
So I thought I’d run through a how I would tackle a day’s racing on a Saturday as this seemed the most fitting as most people are looking for fun on the weekend.
There were a massive 9 races on Saturday that were televised on Channel 4 and if one is sat around watching it then they could do no better than play with both Ladbrokes and William Hill.
Ladbrokes offer a free bet should you pick a winner at 4/1 or above and William Hill give you your money back as a free bet should your horse come second. Splitting your stakes between these two bookies is a must if you’re betting for fun but want to stand a better chance of not blowing your bank.
Here were my selections and I had £25 on each with both bookies so £50 per bet. (you could of course limit this to £5 per bet or whatever you’re comfortable with. Please note that it is a minimum of £5 and a maximum of £25 PLUS both must be done by betting on a mobile or tablet.)
1:45 YOR – Alfred Hutchinson
2:00 HAY – Queen Of Ice
2:20 YOR – Elidor
2:35 HAY – Cable Guy
2:45 NMK – Nafaqa
2:55 YOR – Red Baron
3:10 HAY – Intibaah
3:20 NMK – Majeed
3:45 HAY – Adaay
So in the 1.45 Alfred Hutchinson came second so I got £25 back with Hills but lost £25 with Laddies.
The 2.00 saw Queen Of Ice come nowhere so I’m £75 down at this point.
Same in the 2.20 where Elidor ran backward! Now I’m £125 down.
Cable Guy in the 2.35 romps home at 5/1 so I’ve I’m back to even stevens but have two free bets in my wallet.
Nafaqa goes west and now puts me £50 down.
The 2.55 sees Red Baron coming second so £75 quid down but a free bet from Hills so now although I’m £75 down I have £75 in free bets.
Majeed is nowhere to be seen so £125 down again but Adaay sees me right at a nice 6/1 so I finish the day on £25 to the good and £100 in free bets. That’s four more chances to boost the profits and I tend to leave them until the Monday when the racing is less competitive.
I know not all Saturday’s will be as good but on the other hand it’s perfectly feasible that you’ll have an absolute cracking day and rack up loads of free bets as well.
So as you can see by using the bookies generous offers we can at least slim down the chances of losing our shirts and in my opinion make it even more fun.
There is another way of making guaranteed long term profits from the above offers and you can see two video’s of me making a profit from trading out bookie’s free bets and you can check that out here –
Any questions let me know.
