I thought I’d re-visit this post as I’ve had a few people highlight some questions about when using tipsters that use varying points within their service.
Please watch the video below and then I will offer an explanation into how to convert the information into the video to correspond with whichever tipster you might be using.
Please also see below the calculator to use for your calculations.
www.winninginformationnetwork.com/losingruncalculator.xlsx
So as was highlighted by a few readers how do we convert the above bank into the bank required depending on what tipster you are using.
I’ll take Lucky 7 Naps as was requested by Ahmed in the comment below.
Lucky 7 Naps has a 33% strike rate and over 1,000 selections we would expect to see a losing run of 17 in a row. If we were staking just 1 point per bet and NOT the recommended stakes offered by the service we would need a 52 point bank to protect ourselves.
However we need to take the BIGGEST stake that the tipster uses which in this case is 5 and multiply this by our bank of 52. This now gives us a bank of 260 units. We divide this into our starting bank. So for example let’s say you were to start with £1,000 you would be staking £3.85 per point. So in the case of a 5 point bet this would equal £19.25.
Should the tipster now hit the expected losing run when using the 5 point stakes we will still have 2/3rds of our bank left to then hit the inevitable winning streak.
Hope that now makes more sense and always any questions please let me know.

Eddie Lloyd
Hello Eddie,
As a US Better could you show me an example in US Currency? As an example, say my Bank Roll
is $100. Could you show me a breakdown where I would be placing a SAFE BET with so many losses.
You really need overlays to WIN I should think!
Thank You,
Rolf

Hi Eddie
Just looked at your video regarding the staking calculator and i must say I am pretty impressed.
You have given the example by using Win selections to work out the staking etc,the example you have used is there longest losing run actually 18 or is this just a figure you have used for the video.
Also I have tried clicking on the download link for the calculator and there seems to be a problem, because the message coming back is error
Best Regards
Keith Hodgson
Hi Keith,
Thank you for your kind comments. I have amended the post so that if you right click on the link then it will be available to download.
The figure of 18 was actually derived by using the strike rate of the free tips. We can do this with any strike rate. The calculation is based on probability so is accurate enough for us to rely on.
Let me know if you have any further questions.
Kind Regards,
Eddie Lloyd
Hi Eddie
How does it work when using various points staking as i can see in your video you have it set to 1 point stakes??
Many thanks
James
Hi Jim,
It won’t work with various staking. The calculator is designed to work only with level stakes. Any system or service should be profitable to level stakes anyway and that’s what you should be focusing on!
Let me know if you have any further questions,

Hi,
I have downloaded the calculator but can’t get the figures in column A to update.
I use Open Office on my computer is the calculator not configured this?
Regards
Allan
Hi Allan,
Not sure what’s happened there as should work on any platform. In the cell itself could you make sure you have the following formula –
LOG(1000,base)÷−LOG(1−0.33)
Failing that I will email you another sheet and hope that works.

Eddie
hi eddie
sorry
as i see i have only 50 points if the strike rates is 33%
in lucky 7 nap service (very famous service in bet kudos)he plays 3 point and 5 points per race
so it cant be like this because 50 points loss he made it one month before and he made it many times within 1month
so should i make it 50×3 or 200 points
waiting for your reply
Hi Ahmed,
I have updated the article to explain your question. Hope it helps and let me know if you have any further questions.
