After writing about seconditus last week I went on to prove myself right and we managed to bag a few winners, including a very close second yesterday at 14/1 advised each way! I’m starting to get it right again and we see a steady profit on the month again and I’m confident we can add a few more points on the board before the end of this month to finish off our 17th consecutive profitable month.
I’ve mentioned before my preference for understanding what the ground conditions are on the day and whether a horse can cope with the going. As we start to see a lot of rain and frostier weather coming in there’ll be a lot of “heavy going’s” being declared and we need to watch out for this. Another tip is if a horse has won by 5 or more lengths on the soft and is kept in the same class and running of the same mark they should do relatively okay on the heavier ground. I would focus more on horses though that have proven themselves on the going.
Anyway I won’t waffle on again about ground conditions as I have often done in the past, that was just a warning to bear in mind as we hit that time of year when the weather can effect so much. Of course there is one type of racing that we can rely on and that is the all weather.
All weather is dramatically improving and we see more and more prize money coming in for it. It can be a profitable form of racing to follow and I know many pro punters now that simply concentrate on these all weather races as the form is simpler to concentrate on rather than having to worry about ground changes etc. I have a few contacts in place now that solely focus on this type of racing and they certainly know there racing onions! If there is anything you do this week have a look at the all weather and focus on looking for winners who have proven ability at the track and you’ll be surprised how simpler it is to find horses that perform well on the surface. Once you’ve found proven horses look for the top end of the market and check the market agrees and you’ll be finding plenty of winners.
Of course if you’d rather keep it simple you can jump on board Man At The Races who will give you between one and two of the best bets a day and has never had a losing month 😉
See you next week,
MATR
