Sunday 22nd. We cleared up on what was a SUPER Saturday, not only for all my members, but also for all the BETFAN diary/column readers, as our free tip RUN RUCTIONS RUN romped home under a very accomplished ride from Dougy Costello for Tim Easterby at a brilliant price of 6/1, coupled with the fact that ANDY BELL tipped up ROALCO DE FARGES under an ultra confident ride from Dicky Johnson at 11/2 and also the LATE TIPPING service made a small profit with a 6/1 place. ANDY BELL also romped home in the battle of the tipsters and kicked a BET KUDOS Tipster off his pedestal and has the chair for next week, It doesn’t get much better than that on what are very tricky Saturdays.
Today is a different kettle of fish altogether, although the racing looks distinctly ordinary to say the least. I am going to put a couple up, all be it very small, as you know when we’re hot we’re hot and I would hate to miss any opportunity however small. WYOYO has been galloping well at home and at a working mans price of 7/1 and once again under Dicky Johnson’s steering, this is worthy of a minimum investment ew. In the same Sunday email I also advise backing TIME TO THINK as a minimum win bet and taking the 7/2 on offer.
EASYONDEYE runs in Ireland in the last race the Hunter chase so I put her up as a LATE BET.
TIME TO THINK falls victim as another of our ever growing hard luck stories this month and finishes 2nd. I don’t know what the watches have been seeing at home, but WYOYO certainly doesn’t show it on the track and runs poorly.
At last another winner for the LATE BETTING SERVICE as EASYONDEYE wins a shade cosily and puts us on the board for the day.
Monday 24th. In all a really good and profitable weekend for all services and I live to fight next Saturday in the battle of the tipsters. Graham Gibbons has picked up a prime ride on ONE SCOOP OR TWO and the connections are backing him to win at 9/2. Kim Bailey thinks he has got SUCH A LEGEND spot on for today’s hurdle race and the booking of Tom Scu can only be taken as another positive. I email both these out and advise taking the 5/2 and the 9/2 as I am told that both of them will be punted.
I am told that tomorrow will be a busy day for us.
Graham Gibbons finds all sorts of trouble on ONE SCOOP OR TWO as he is making his challenge from the back. As soon as it was prevalent he couldn’t win he dropped his hands and coasted in, one to pop in the notebooks.
As Tom Scu kicks for home coming round the Towcester bend, I am sure we are on the winner, only for him to clout two out and not quite stay up the Towcester hill. In all a disappointing day, because with the strength and depth of the information I had received I was expecting at the very least one winner and we ended up with nothing, that’s racing.
Tuesday 25th. I have a lot of information coming through this morning and all of it seems strong in its own way. BOB KEOWN won well last time and although they have swapped the cheek pieces for blinkers they think they have enough in hand to win again. MRS JORDON is an ew bet to nothing and could well lift the prize if able to get away from them three fences out, which is the plan.
ARTHURS OAK is going to be pushed to the front with a circuit to go and the connections are hoping he can run the finish out of the rest as they are all backing him to win.
The flat proper starts at Doncaster on Saturday and today I have been asked to have a look at the race for one of the representatives with a view to backing him in the Lincoln. As always the draw and the going are paramount and as of today the ground looks as if it will be on the good side, but as we know all to well in this country nothing can be taken at face value weather wise.
Bit of a mixed back today, we did in fact get a place with MRS JORDAN, who did do what we wanted by leading, but in fact wasn’t good enough on the day. I thought BOB KEOWN had in fact won, but he just got mugged after the last fence and came second and although ARTURS OAK was cruising in front and trading at 10/1 ON in running, he couldn’t quite last home and also got beaten after the last. So despite all the strong info we have posted a losing day.
Wednesday 26th. Not an ideal day yesterday, the information was all live and we were certainly on triers, which if you can achieve those two things you are well on your way to winning at this game.
DAY STAR LAD which we backed today and to be honest I’m not sure whether the horse is a bad one or today wasn’t the day, either way he was never at the races and ran appallingly.
I am asked by Steve to have a look at tomorrows Hunter Chase race to see if I can confirm what the connections are thinking and whether they have a chance of winning.
Thursday 27th. I touch base with Steve this morning to see if what I have come up with today’s Hunter Chase winner. Steve is very excited that our thinking is alike and my views confirm his. Immediately, Steve calls the connections with our thoughts and an hour later confirms to me it’s all systems go.
SILVER TOKEN is the flashy grey horse in question and is trading with most of the greedy 1s at 4/1. I am on the verge of backing this win only as the fav is a bad one, but I air on the side of caution and back this ew through my network of bettors and email out the same information to all my clients. The 2 day forecast is suggesting rain at Doncaster, so my advice is to sit on all your bets as CAPTAIN CAT the fav for one will not want any rain at all. From the off the fav shows why we were so against him, as he doesn’t even really want to race and sulks in last place, damn, a chance missed of laying an 11/8 fav. SILVER TOKEN is ridden with the upmost of confidence by Tom David and he is travelling so well with a circuit to go he lets him go and the only dangers are in front of him. SILVER TOKEN wins untroubled and never comes off the bridle, the 4/1 looks an amazing price now as he wins totally untroubled. Oi oi that’s a nice one stuck up the Greedy 1s. We have hit over 40 points profit on three separate times this month already, only for various reasons to lose them again, now lets hope I can kick on and end an up and down month on a high.
The local Chinese restaurant is calling tonight as the sizzling king prawn dish is the best in the area and the fried battered oysters are to kill for. With the tank full, with no MSG I hasten to add we finish the meal with a nice bottle of white and sheep’s eyes (lychees).
Friday 28th. It was nice to have a winning day yesterday as its been a constant struggle this month. As I said yesterday with the rain arriving at Doncaster to be careful and in fact the fav, CAPTAIN CAT has just been confirmed as a non runner.
Without his top cameraman of the last three weeks, me, I wonder how Simon “Hardy’s” TV promo will go today. If he keeps banging in the winners as he has been, it can only be an asset to us all at BETFAN.
After our Hunter Chaser paying for last nights meal, today is another day, with a very interesting Hunter Chaser at Wetherby. With question marks over the front two in the market and three others being blatant non stayers RADHARC NA MARA looks an incredible price at 25/1. Not wishing to get carried away, but if RADHARC NA MARA returns to form he has a great chance of going very close and Holly can certainly ride. I have an ew bet with some of yesterdays winnings at 25/1 and email out to all my clients and advise taking the over priced 25/1 on offer with the various Greedy bookmaking firms.
I am catching the train to Doncaster tomorrow and at this moment in time I still have no idea what I am backing in the Spring mile or the Lincoln. The draw and the going are such vital factors nowadays, even though the clerk of the course will be adamant that there is no draw biases, which we all know is rubbish. I will see how much rain actually falls during the course of the day and also tonight.
I am sure it’s our bets and monies which is bringing RADHARC NA MARA into 10/1 from our 25/1 in the betting before the of. Holly settles him near the back and when the favourite makes a mistake and falls she cleverly kicks on and takes 5 lengths out of the field. With a circuit to go I am starting to get animated and very excited as we are going well and with the non stayers I can see us being second at the very worst.
Three out Holly kicks again and with two slick jumps we win going away. What an absolutely fantastic result a 25/1 winner, which has won very easily.
We have done it again and totally eclipsed yesterdays great 4/1 winner with a stunning 25/1 winner today. I can say I did tell you that our Hunter Chase form and information is second to none and we still have another 2 months of it to go.
Which fool has been wishing the jumps away in favour of the flat I wonder.
Saturday 29th. A stunning last couple of days on the Hunter Chase circuit that has seen us bank a 4/1 and a 25/1 winner. I said I wanted and needed to finish March off strongly and we are certainly doing that.
I am catching the 10-07 train to Doncaster today, which is the start of the flat season proper.
Hopefully I can match last Saturdays achievements with a 6/1 free tip a 11/2 winner for all my clients and by retaining my Battle Of The Tipsters chair, a tall order but I will give it my best shot.
TODAYS FREE TIP:
3.50 Doncaster – Off Art 15/2 (William Hill) – Each Way Bet 5 places.
I have the best set of contacts assembled for this flat season I can remember and hopefully we can kick some proper arse again this year.
Think carefully about this wonderful quote.
“There is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man.” Winston Churchill
Until next week, keep safe.
Back next Saturday.
