I (Andy Bell) have recently joined the ranks of BETFAN as a daily tipster and have also agreed to write the Sunday column about the previous weeks racing which includes the bets, wins, losses and the after racing joviality’s .
Monday 22nd. I had made a point of keeping relatively free in order to watch the last days cricket at lords, but as we know the English swept aside the Aussies with consummate ease again to lead 2-0 in the ashes. Punting wise my day was revolving around a short priced runner in the 6-30 at Beverley the twice raced BLACK TREACLE trained by the up and coming Keith Dalgleish and ridden by Silvestre de Sousa (SDS). I was lucky enough to get 5/4 on the machine early. BLACK TREACLE got slightly hampered at the start but after that SDS always had things under control to win by a length 1/2, so a good winning day.
Tuesday 23rd.Was a very mediocre days racing with small fields and short priced favourites and knowing the end of the week was going to be busy I decided not to have a bet.
Wednesday 24th. I caught the 12-18 train to Leicester to attend a meeting with a trainer and his owners about placing their horses in the near future, which will benefit all my BETFAN clients with any future gambles that WILL occur. I had been primed earlier that morning that if the ground at Catterick was suitable we had a “good thing” to bet. The go ahead was given to punt the once raced Jo Hughes trained SMART PAYER at 15/8 which duly bolted up by 10 lengths eased down at 11/10. So in all a fantastic day all round. Note to myself: when in Leicester, do not swat a fly above your head again without being prepared to explain to 5/6 very keen and persuasive taxi drivers you don’t require their services.
Thursday 25th. My 1st day live with BETFAN and all my new clients and a depressive 8 race small field card at Yarmouth but the depression soon subsided when I realised I was booked into a hotel for the night. As expected Yarmouth was a no bet day for me, but it was livened up by Micky Quinn dancing after getting a 20/1 winner and after talking to 3 trainers I was very excited about all OUR future profits. My 1st bets with BETFAN I decided to Back Frankie at Sandown ew on MUFTARRES which opened up at 11s and was punted down to 8s and like all good e/ws came 4th, so not a good start and then the in foal RESET CITY at Brighton, we didn’t expect Alan Baileys Dazzling Valentine to deny her the lead and ultimately spoilt the party not only for herself but also RESET CITY which finished 2nd. Not a good BETFAN start only to prove there are no holy grails or get rich quick schemes in racing, it’s a long term relationship which pays monthly profits. As for my exciting night out in Yarmouth to forget my losses I have seen more life in a tramps vest.
Friday 26th. Left for Newmarket July course at 1pm because the traffic and crowds are going to be immense due to Labrinth in concert after racing. “Banged” in my 1st winner on day 2 with BETFAN courtesy of the carefully pronounced SEMEEN in the 8-10 advised at 11-4 (4 pts win) and once again the information was correct as it “came” into 7-4, and only on day 2 that already puts us into profit. I am of the opinion that picking a winner here tonight is easier than getting a beer or getting into the little boys room. I have never seen so many ladies “Mmmmmm” females in the gents toilets since the good old days when the office Christmas parties were in full swing. I am seriously considering setting up a stall outside Newmarket races gates on music nights and selling WEESHE’S to all you females.
Saturday 27th. Not my favourite punting day, everyone wants to bet and a winner and it’s the hardest day of the week to find them. As the trainers say a winner on a Saturday is worth 3 in the week. I am going to my local track at Newmarket and suspect there will coach loads of drunken pub outing’s because its Adnams Ale day.
At least I got 1 thing correct today there were coach loads of pub outing’s and 1 of them was full of my pals from the local, 3 losers later my mobile was busier than the bookies satchels with calls and texts, I don’t think I was getting offered beers and a lift home.
The information was correct and the money came for our bets QUEENSBURY RULES 10/1 into 6/1, GOLD HUNTER 4/1 into 11/4 it often helps but doesn’t guarantee a winner.
After analysing my day we were beaten by a 33/1, 33/1 and a 25/1 in our 3 races and the winners at Ascot were 20/1, 25/1, 33/1, 13/2, 16/1, 11/4 & golly gosh if any Ascot punters had any money left a 5/4 fav which makes the average winnings odds of nearly 15-1 a race.
Newmarket was slightly better at an average winnings odds of nearly 10/1.
In summary I had a winning Monday, Wednesday & Friday with a no bet on Tuesday and made a profit on the week.
Now this is my 1st full week working with all my BETFAN clients we can ALL make a profit, hopefully starting at Carlisle tomorrow with a Newmarket horse and my friends horse runs at Ayr on Monday and I saw 1 sparkle in a gallop at Newmarket yesterday which runs at Yarmouth on Tuesday..
Heres to a good weeks punting!
Back next Sunday.
