Well we are now approaching the final few games of this World Cup and most of it has been a joy to watch. The one thing that has annoyed me has been the way that every time the referees make a decision regarding a foul every single player without exception will protest their innocence. Why cant they just accept it and play on?
What do you all think has been the best thing to come out of the current tournament? For me it’s not having to watch the Beebs One Show the worst program on the telly.
There has been a lot of debate as to why the England team were so bad yet again and the guy who makes the most sense is David Dein who says he visits our state schools on a regular basis promoting football and the standard of Sporting education and coaching is appalling.
With less than 2 hours a week given over to sports and then it’s coached by some old granny who preaches it’s not the winning that counts but the taking part.
It seems to me if we have to blame anybody it’s the government that are to blame as if you don’t teach the youngsters what chance have we of producing quality footballers.
Today’s racing is moderate but at least we have some super racing round the corner at Newmarket later this week. As for today’s Howies Hottie I’m off to Lingfied on the polytrack for the 3.20 which is a 12 furlong handicap.
The tip is By Jupiter from Michael Bells yard. The filly is a daughter of See The Stars and the step up in trip should really suit her. Tom Queally takes the ride and she should not be far away.
Actually Tom is not getting as many rides as he used to and I’m surprised he is not being used by more trainers. Lets not forget this was the guy aboard Frankel and he never put a foot wrong on the great horse. Yes I can hear the clever dicks saying it was a steering job but if you have ever sat on a race horse there is no such thing as a steering job.
OK By Jupiter is no Frankel but lets hope it’s another winner for my mate Tom.
3.20 Lingfield – By Jupiter – Win Bet 7/2 (bet365)
EX Oriente trainer S.Williams – Ran on well after a slow start and this shrew handler can find the right race soon.
Pallasator trainer Sir M.Prescott – 2nd at Haydock last Saturday on seasonal debut. The trainer is targeting the Ebor with him.
Extemity trainer H.Palmer – Has failed to live up to high expectations so far but it might be he needs a softer surface to show his best.
Prince Of Burma trainer D.Evans – Successful in this column in the past this well handicapped horse can win on turf or polytrack. Runs today in seller at Lingfield and would have been Howies Hottie but he is running over 10 furlongs which is an unknown quantity.
Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.
