It seems the major bookmakers are crying all the way to the bank with claims that turnover on horse racing is down by nearly 40% since 2005. What they fail to tell us is that this is mainly due to the lack of punters using high street betting shops in favour of betting on the internet or the phone.
They also fail to mention that revenue on football, sports and casino betting has doubled over the same period. Also on course bookies are still making nice profits with racing still the biggest spectator sport behind football. So all I can say is come on pack in all this moaning, give us some decent odds and stop closing our accounts when some of us keep winning.
I see all the experts are telling us the premiership title is between Chelsea and Man City well I don’t need any pundit to give me that type of info any fool can come up with those numbers. The clever ones and the guys I respect will find an angle or a dark team at a price as I don’t need idiots to shout about short price favourites we can all find ourselves.
It appears Man Utd have signed Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid for £60 million a very decent player however if they had done the deal two months ago he was available for £20 million less so it looks like the money men at Utd have money to burn. Mind you only time will tell if it’s money well spent or not.
Well last week Howies Hottie was out with the washing but if you remember I said that the best bet of the day was at Kempton and only available to paying clients. This turned out to be the case with Outer Space winning at an s/p of 7/1. Which just goes to tell you can not expect all the best tips to be free every week as it would not be fair to regular subscribers of my service or that of my fellow tipsters.
I’m happy to give you some sweets but not all of those in the bag. Having said that you can pick up at times late news on my Bankers Bonus Twitter page where if you check Outer Space was a free tip. At the end of the day everyone has to understand I’m not here for medals I’m here for the money.
Moving on to todays racing my Hottie goes in the 7.55 Kempton a one mile competitive handicap. The selection is Monsieur Chevalier who ran a very good 2nd at Lingfield last time after a slow start.
The gelding is on a nice rating and has a top 3lb claimer in the saddle. He is a hold up performer so will always be a hostage to fortune so I would recommend an each way investment.
Dangerous Age trainer C.Hills – 2nd at Bath last week and looks ready to go one better in particular when returned to polytrack.
Safety Check trainer C.Appleby – He had to come down the wide outside at Goodwood to make his challenge which cost him the race.
Buthelezi trainer B.Ellison – Just outstayed last time and a return to a shorter trip will suit
Penhill trainer J.Bethell – Another who did not see out the 14 furlongs at York and a return to 12 furlongs could make a big difference.
Unsinkable trainer I. Semple – No other tipster on the planet would give you this one as an eyecatcher but just remember you heard it here first. This horse was a decent animal when with Richard Fahey as a juvenile and then lost its way. New connections tried him over longer trips without success and then reverted to sprint distances which also failed however I have seen glimmer of the old ability during his races and at some time before the end of the season this horse could well win at a massive price.
Back Next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.
