Well a decent days racing in prospect with Doncaster, Ludlow over the sticks and Lingfield and Kempton on the polytrack to entertain us.
The opener at Ludlow will be interesting with Titus Mills a high class recruit from the flat taking on the highly regarded bumper winner Utopian.
We have had a few nice winners recently on Bankers Bonus with Linkable 12/1 and yesterday Corn Maiden at 7/2.
At Bankers Bonus you have the bread and butter and at the Fold4Gold jackpot club you have the jam so my advice is join both as the current discounts to members are very low and you will have the best of both worlds.
For Howies Hottie today I have studied the 8.00 Kempton. My original selection was going to be the David Evans trained Scribe who has shown a smart upturn in form since being stepped up in trip but after looking down the runners I have plumped for the Mark Usher mare Lady of Burgundy.
She has dropped over 10lbs in the ratings and if you look through her form one race in particular stands out. This was her 2nd to Trovare last Summer over this course and distance.
Regular readers will I’m sure remember Howies Hottie landed a massive gamble with Trovare that day at 16/1 and with Lady of Burgundy running so well she must have a decent chance in this much lower grade.
I have not seen any early prices but hopefully we might be able to pinch a bit of each way value. I wouldn’t put anyone off Scribe as Evans put up the top notch Adam Kirby but the Lady is the selection and perhaps a small reverse forecast won’t go amiss.
EYECATCHERS
Thane of Cawder trainer J.Tuite – Purchased cheaply from top connections and was noted running a very encouraging race at Kempton last week. Should strip fitter next time and one to look out for.
Great Demeanor trainer D.Elsworth – Ran well over a mile but her winning form is over 7 furlongs and a return to this trip will suit. The form of her last race bares close inspection as the two in front of her are well regarded types.
Linkable trainer B.Powel – A cracking winner for Bankers Bonus at Lingfield the gelding stayed on strongly to break his maiden tag. A further step up in trip can see him win again.
Saint Are Trainer T.Vaughan – A bad mistake two from home cost him a winning chance at Ascot. The gelding prefers drier conditions and with Cheltenham on the horizon one of the handicaps is within his range.
Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.
