The Cheltenham Festival will be taking place in just over three weeks so now is a good time to assess our ante post position with regards selections advised through the Bet Enthusiast service. The service made a moderate start but hit second place in the Betfan Top 10 after Phil Mickelson was advised at 28/1 to win the Phoenix Open.
Bet Enthusiast is a tipping service that includes mainstream sports and several more obscure sports. The monthly subscription has been pitched to attract bettors who have a wide variety of betting interests across a number of sports. The cost of the service is designed not to have too much of a detrimental affect on the overall profitability of your betting.
Following the Bet Enthusiast advice for Cheltenham has put you in a good position with many of the selections now trading at a lower price than when first advised. However, the dangers of ante post betting were illustrated by the withdrawal of Tidal Bay from the Grand National due to a minor injury. He was advised at 40/1 but had been backed into 14/1 before being pulled out of the race.
Cotton Mill ran a decent trial for the Champion Hurdle behind My Tent Or Yours last weekend at Newbury. It would have something to find with that horse on ratings but they are unlikely to meet in the Champion Hurdle as My Tent Or Yours looks like taking the novice route this season.
Reve De Sivola was tipped up at 8/1 to win the World Hurdle but is now only backable at half the price. With the absence of Big Bucks this year’s renewal is wide open. Interest is added by the possible participation of Quevega who is scheduled to try to win the mare’s race for the fifth time before running again in the World Hurdle.
The New One is another horse that gives us a decent trading position as it was advised at 7/1 to win the Neptune Investment Novices Hurdle at the Festival. Ladbrokes are a standout 5/1 for this horse and only the Irish trained Pont Alexandre has shown comparable form this season to date.
Overturn and Dynaste have been supported for the Arkle Chase and RSA Chase respectively and both form other strong elements of our ante post portfolio. After the Cheltenham Festival and Grand National have taken place will be a better time to judge the Bet Enthusiast service and let’s not forgot we are also on Russell Henley at 150/1 to win the US Masters and the best price is now just 100/1.
Back next Friday.
