A lovely trip to one of The Don’s fave tracks was marred by the constant presence of BetFan’s star diarist Andy Bell.
He is the Racing equivalent of a fly on a camping trip and I’m glad that the powers that be have given me the chance to Swat him during Cheltenham week.
I told Penny I think there must be 5 of him which made her look dizzy because everywhere I went on Wednesday to avoid him up popped another smirking version. No doubt he is having a good month and I certainly congratulated him on that but then he seemed rattled when I reminded him I am BetFan’s all time top tipster for a reason, think vintage wine against chap Alcopop. No pressure Andy and one last piece of advice, don’t trap your hands in the back of your sofa old boy whilst getting the five large in reddies together for our little side bet. Friday night in Cheltenham there will be a presentation after the last race of the Festival and in the appropriate words of the weakest link, you will leave with nothing!
Great to see the new Betfan TV where it would appear my old friend Simon Holden is visiting the same visually impaired hairdresser as Andy Bell. Dear oh dear excellent piece though, I suggest the next phone call he makes is to a reputable Barber. See what I mean by Clicking Here 🙂
This wet horrible weather shows no signs of abating and yesterday was miserable in the extreme at Ascot. In all honesty some of these meetings should be off and I think the horses who are sitting this spell out may have a huge advantage come spring time. It will leave its mark on plenty!
I’m travelling up to Market Rasen today to lunch with a new contact and take in what looks a decent Sunday card. It’s a smashing little course that have really invested in the facilities and is well worth a visit. Our Sunday special goes in the 3.55 where I’m convinced we will see significant improvement from the Jonjo trained Join The Clan. It’s 13/2 with Betfred and I suggest an each way bet. The horse has hinted at a return to form but only hinted so far however he is now on a very tasty handicap mark and the course and ground should suit and at 13/2 is well worth chancing.
Have a great Sunday everyone and remember Cheltenham is on the horizon, I’m already dreaming of winners, that’s what happens when as always you trust in the Don.
Back next Sunday.
