So Sandown yesterday was our end of season finale and for many it seemed odd to see Paul Nicholls crowned Champion Trainer because he has not appeared to have had a very good year.
But easily he has reclaimed his title from Nicky Henderson and it’s a huge testament to his team down there. To lose Ruby Walsh and his assistant Dan Skelton must have been two huge body blows and though he will never win nice guy of the year he is some Trainer of race horses!
The Don and Penny were guests in a private box and with the others marvelled over the reception AP Mccoy got as he claimed his 19th title. Sometimes you have to step back and realise how lucky we are to live in the this era. Fallon at his peak forgetting all the bad things and AP 15 years ago to 10 years ago were the two strongest riders I’ve ever seen.
Of course AP is on the downgrade, that body has taken an awful pounding and we all get weaker every day but somehow he has found a way of slowing it down and he is still a top jockey. My one hope is that he knows when to leave the crease and doesn’t ride on to a point where people wish he hadn’t. Those around him and let me tell you in the weighing room and with owners and Trainers this is a hugely popular guy who is far from the dour misery guts he portrays will be strong with him when it’s time to wave goodbye. Cliche warning enjoy him while he is here and as I said to the other guests in the box we definitely will not see his like again! And for the last time stop saying he is not as good as he was, no one is saying he is!!
The Don has ripped it up this week with a 6/1 and 2 yes 2 14/1 winners for my private clients. 190 plus profit for the month that’s a figure that most advisors would be happy with for the year believe me. Stop reading about my private service and get in it , my members like me and I like them there’s no Bullshit I tell it how it is and they know the score with me. You simply cannot win money long term by backing constant short prices so we play value and we win enough to secure big profits. If you understand that concept join me I can help you, if you don’t as I’ve said before play tiddlywinks or flip a coin.
It’s poor fare today but I have a good bet at Kempton for us and it’s an unlikely alliance between Paul Nicholls and Ryan Moore. There might not be many laughs in the paddock but they team up in the 2 mile handicap for a rare flat runner for the yard. The horse is Ranjaan in the 5.15 and we need a win bet at 9/4 with William Hill. The horse is big and lazy and Ryan is just what the Dr ordered. I expect this one to go in.
Join me we have a huge few weeks to come and it would be better to be part of it than read about it.
Back next Sunday.
