The Don has been waiting for this day with excitement like a child on Christmas Eve.
On this very day last year in this very column I confidently predicted that Fort Larned would win the Breeders Cup Classic at a whopping 9/1!
It was Certainly worth staying up till the early hours to see that collect but that Breeders Cup Classic was far from the only thing that had the Dons private members cheering. In addition to Fort Larned they were instructed to back three other horses who all won at 9/1, 3/1 and 2/1. An incredible day and a day where fortunes were won.
So now you can see why I’ve been looking forward to this day because we are going to try and do it all again. This column will go for the Breeders Cup Classic and my members will be on this and three other horses as we attempt to dish out another pasting to the Bookmakers. Join up and be part of it don’t read about it like you did last year.
So the Breeders Cup Classic the race which stops America and a race that the Europeans have a dreadful record in. Aiden O’Brian runs Declaration of War who is bred to go on the surface and had the unusual pleasure of being taken to Southwell for a training run. The problem for this horse is he may be bred for the job but he is taking on the best dirt horses in the World here and I think it’s all going to happen too fast for him. Fair play to his connections for having a tilt though as many of the Europeans have stayed away this year for some reason.
The favourite as he was last year is Game on Dude who has had a sensational year winning all five of his races. My problem with him is this was all true last year and he flopped, the Don is a forgiving man just ask Penny but he doesn’t interest me at 3/1 with the memory of that stinker of a run. The buzz horse of the week is Mucho Mucho Man who has been backed and I can see why as he looked mighty impressive over course and distance in a recent win but I make no apology in overlooking him.
The horse we are backing at an extremely generous 11/2 is our old friend from last year Fort Larned. He has been aimed at this all year not surprisingly and showed he was coming to the boil nicely last time with a good win. Last year he made all and from stall 7 that will be the plan again. The kickback can be horrible here and he will miss all that and the hype surrounding Game on Dude means we are getting a much bigger price than we should be. I like betting on horses to do things they have already proved they can do and that’s what I will be doing here.
I advise a win bet at 11/2 with Betvictor and then make sure you’re awake because the race goes at 12.35 am so hopefully we can wake the neighbours and have an early BetFan Fireworks night. Join up now and you will be part of this years big November sting! As we go for four horses on both sides of the Atlantic.
Have a great Saturday and as always Trust in the Don.
Back next Saturday.
