Oh Golf Betting how cruel you are and young Rory how dozy you are!
I sympathise with anyone and there will be many who backed Rory to win last week after he finished second by one shot.
The cruel bit is that he received a two shot penalty for infringing the rules so he took the least amount of shots but you did your money.
Rory played great on a course style that traditionally he struggles on but I have to take issue with him for saying the rules are stupid. The rules are the rules he and his caddy who gets payed a lot are the stupid ones for not obeying them. There is a referee to advise as well so all in all very silly and folks you do your dough which is very, very unlucky.
This week we have two more early season crackers as the European tour moves on to Qatar for the Commercial bank Masters. Stenson who was very rusty is the jolly old fave but he looks like he has had a long Winter break where the clubs have stayed in the bag so may need some time yet. Joint fave is Garcia who says he has an injury so we have a couple of faves to have a crack at. This is another tough layout requiring accuracy off the tee. It’s another great field and should be an informative week.
Over the pond we have the Farmers Insurance Open and the return of the Tiger who has a great record at the Torrey Pines mega long layout. Unlike Stenson we can be assured the Tiger will have been grafting with his coach and will be ready to rumble. He has had his critics over many years including myself and his behaviour has been a disgrace on many occasions but lets be honest it’s great to have him back. He is sports premier superstar and the big money they are all playing for is largely down to the viewers he brings. And no one in any sport strikes fear in to the hearts of the evil ones we know as bookmakers quite like the Nike clad Tiger, God Dang it!
We have big bets in both Tournaments, get with us, see you inside the ropes.
Back next Tuesday.
