I just love the Sky nights, I seem to revel in the rich pickings on offer. The Betfred Select Stakes last Tuesday evening at Nottingham where I selected five winners from the eight race card with two seconds.
My subscribers were over 18 points to the good after I gave them a 5/1 & 6/1 winners and then a very nice trixie went down on the last leg or it would have really have been a night to remember.
As a result I have moved up the Betfan tipster charts featuring in the top 5 for three consecutive months and I’m now third in the last 6 months, also second in the year to date and sixth in the Betfan all time lists!
Not bad at all for a minority sport – one that Betfan weren’t even sure if there was a market for.
I have had a lot of £1 weeks triallists join me this week – they landed lucky with Tuesday nights tips but I wonder how many of them will go onto subscribe to my full service even though they’re already quids in!
I followed that up starting August with a bang with a nice winner and we have some ante post interest in the Sussex Cup Final with Express Master.
So why not join my service fully and let me make you money.
We have lots to look forward to this week especially at Romford tonight where the Champion Stakes starts with six ultra competitive heats. Then we have the Sussex Cup Final & supporting finals on Sky next Wednesday night.
I intend to prop up some dogs to follow from time to time – the first of which is Swift Keith a Feb 12 puppy trained by John Mullins. He has recorded some blistering trials at Yarmouth and Hove. He made his debut at Hove last night and found trouble out of the traps but showed plenty of pace before running out of steam close home. He will be winning soon and plenty of races 🙂
Thanks for all your stories regarding greyhound gambles landed but there can be only one winner – step forward Bob Bonfield.
I’m 66 years young now but this gamble relates well back to when I was in my 20’s when they had dog racing at vicarage road now the home of Watford FC.
On this particular day I went to my local betting shop for my usual Friday yankee as it happened the papers that day were on strike, so I just picked 4 dogs that I had backed before, although somewhat blindly, they all won.
At the time I was earning just £30 a week, so I was on top of world after working my bet out to find I had around £800 to come.
When I went to collect I was horrified to find out that this particular shop had limits on dog bets, so they paid me just £150.
After many days of complaining and other punters getting involved, the shop closed its doors and was never seen again again.
Thanks Bob great story and such a shame you never got your money – I think the limits are a tad higher now.
Today’s free tip is at Romford as per usual from the ultra competitive Champion Stakes Heats. As you know I never tip my own dog and while I think Head iton Tom will go well tonight, the hammer falls on Kevin Hutton’s Airport Captain who should improve considerably on his debut run last week behind Killacolla Ka Ka and he is taken to score for us.
