Friday saw my usual pilgrimage to Romford. My subscriber tip Hipower Rhino which I was very strong on was turned over, but my free tip Landed at Last who I also thought would run a big race won the Puppy Final was advised at 5/1. That made it three winning free tips from five during August. To cap what was already a good night celebrating Mrs D’s b’day with all the family was my evergreen champ Head iton Tom winning another quality 575 open.
Saturday never excites me with the RPGTV graded combo of Crayford or Newcastle so it was helping my best mate Alan who is building my office at present. It’s coming along nicely and I can’t wait to get in it!
Sundays always start with a visit to Winston Farm, Ernie Gaskin’s kennels to take my dogs out for a walk and give them some well earned treats. It’s a very sociable morning with lots of owners exchanging pleasantries. I’m warming to Henlow and we started the new month with a bang. Blackrose Mia didn’t let me or my subscribers down. 9/2 was huge and she was returned at 5/2.
Monday started with a few phone calls to my contacts around the tracks to catch up with all the news and then watch all the RPGTV recordings. There were no opens at Romford and though I was strong on Lemon Pumba at Nottingham I wasn’t willing to play at SP. I thought 6/4 was value but thought the Notts bookies would have her odds on. She duly hosed up at 5/4. No bets advised.
Tuesday I ventured down to my local bookies where I bumped into Jeff the dog who lives and breathes greyhounds. It’s always interesting to hear another serious punters views. It’s all about opinions in this game. I was down to watch the open race action from Sheffield where I thought Droopys Pride would win the first Steel City Cup semi, but he was disappointing. But Pay Freeze who was my ante post advice to subscribers took the second semi with the minimum of fuss. He still looks the most likely winner to me.
Wednesday saw me go to the kennels to help my muscle man check over all my dogs. I get this done every four to six weeks. Prevention is always better than the cure. Musical Gaga duly won the TV Trophy Final as I elicited too in an earlier newsletter. My two bets for subscribers were both beaten. So the earlier weeks profit has been wiped out, we’re back on a level playing field. Hope you took note of my eye catcher Steve’s Dream who won a very good S1 at Romford he’s improving fast.
Thursday saw me go down to Hove for Brighton Belle Final – hence a later than normal advice for subscribers which was all about following the money, normally a good source of winners but not tonight. So then it was all about Bridge Ruth could she land the ante post advice for subscribers? Did she ever – she blew them away in breath taking style to put us back in front for the week!
Another winning ante post selection in 2013. My subscribers will get my Romford Puppy Cup ante post advice later this morning.
I’m off to Romford tonight for the Puppy Cup heats and also to watch Tommy in the lucky last taking on his old adversary Smiler Jack.
