Up early Friday sent off newsletter after making my free tip selection. It didn’t take long to select from the flying four races. If you witnessed the look on Mark Wallis face last week when Blonde Razor hosed up, showed how impressed he was with the dog. Missed the boat as the 20/1 for the Leger, he is now 7/1 with the sponsors. The difficult bit was to come as I had lots of possible selections to sort out for my clients. Having to wait until the dreaded bookies all priced up was tedious, gone 4 pm before I knew all the prices. Big Rob called me with his nap and Dave the judge also threw his hat in the ring. I put up three selections along with the free tip. Unusually I had no runners and decided to sit at home at watch for a change. We landed 2 out of 4 & the free tip won again thanks a trap to line win by ‘Razor’ and got back what we lost Thursday.
Saturday up early again with a visit from Tv engineer sorting out Satellite Tv for the office and then busy painting it. It’s been a labour of love but I can’t wait to get in there and do what I do best – pick greyhound winners. Don’t normally bet Saturdays unless there is an open competition, Sent out a token interest in Pony Bride for the Kent St Leger Final but she was run off her feet early before running on for third behind impressive winner Ayaamzalad.
Phoned Angus the dog about Henlow card tomorrow – potentially three selections but caution advised re weather forecast for heavy rain – means a potential track bias. Nightmare for punters!
Sunday I woke up too find it raining cats & dogs – no kennel visit today too wet! – more painting to be done after deciding to put up only one selection – a wide runner Blackrose Eve trained by Eric Cantillon, as wide runners are usually advantaged by a lot of wet weather. However a check of the market later on showed punters are not buying a bias as railers have been well punted! Very disappointed with Blackrose Eve broke well ran wide and then never took part finished stone last! I knew the writing was on the wall when Mr Cantillon had won the previous two races! No track bias in fact it looked like the inside was the place to be! Not happy off to bed!
Monday morning I was off to the kennels to see if we could get to the bottom of Tommy’s poor run 10 days ago, with the visit of my muscle man Kevin Lewis. He found a couple of slight niggles that came from Tommy being bumped off balance by Rio Torino in his last outing. He prescribed a weeks treatment and we think Tommy will be back in business soon enough.
I saw my pup Marco who had just had a nice blow up the gallop and looks in really good shape for Wimbledon next month.
I had already posted that I had no selections today. Though I did venture down to my local betting shop to watch the open race action, which was helpful especially for Fridays Marathon Final.
Woke up in a bad mood Tuesday, couldn’t put my finger on why, but knuckled down to watch the weeks videos and get stuck into some proper form studying for the upcoming weeks action. It was fruitful as I have unearthed some potential selections. There was no selections advised today as I won’t bet or tip at SP.
Wednesday sees the advent of Peterborough on RPGTV it will take watching one or two meetings to get a good feel of the place. I’m hoping they start to hold some opens at the track for me to get my teeth into. I’m off to Romford to watch one of my less heralded greyhounds Dear Holly who is knocking on the door in A2 company, hoping tonight the door will open. Also you probably heard me mention Droopys Alfred as a dog to follow last week well he’s my selection, he’s an improving pup whatever happens in tonight’s owners bonus final. Well would you believe it both dogs won. Alfred won as he liked for my subscribers and surely must go on to better things. Holly followed 16 mins later with exactly the same result banged out and never looked like getting beat. Nice enjoyable drive home, pockets bulging!!
Up with the larks Thursday to give subscribers a full and comprehensive pre-view of all the Sky covered races from Sittingbourne. Included in it are three selections for them to get stuck into! Hove has a good card on RPGTV tonight but three selections are enough. I was going to go to Sittingbourne but my sister in law and nephew are arriving today from Scotland, so watching on Sky it is then. Two out of three ain’t bad as the song goes – must remember to leave sprints alone, but we landed the two big races winners and another 11.5 points profit, which at the time of writing this put me No 1 tipster on Betfan in 2013!!
Dog racing a minority sport – makes it to number 1 tipster!
Free tip time and as usual we go over to Romford for it. Despite not having any runners on the card tonight my son and I are taking my nephew greyhound racing for the 1st time. He lives in Scotland where there are a number of flapping tracks (not gbgb registered) but the only licensed track is Shawfield which is around 2 hours away!
I watched the heats of the feature final the marathon on Friday night and was very keen before hand on Jason Heath’s Castlehill Aris and he didn’t disappoint winning the hard way coming from of the pace. He will improve for the look round and I can see there being a early paced contest at the head of affairs, which can only play into his hands.
