Had a very busy Friday morning as I was going racing at Sandown with some of my mates. So up really early to sort out Romford selection from a poor card as happens after a midweek sky meeting. Brian Thompson ventures to Romford regularly from Manchester and rarely leaves empty handed. So the free tip doubled as the subscriber selection. Karma Cause is a great little dog and rewarded all of us with a gutsy win. One bet – one winner. The racing went even better two main bets both winners at 15/2 early price and 5/1. Simon Holden, the gambling Don or Andy Bell nowhere to be seen, didn’t need them! Lol really enjoyed my day out.
Saturday on RPGTV never normally excites me and this was no exception. But I put up to token selections at the minimum bet for interest in the two big open finals one at Crayford and one at Hall Green. Popped out to local bookies to watch Romford bags action my trainer was on fire last night and so it continued today. Very pleased with my new dog Goes Hot who won a very good A1 in a good 24.33. 3/1 was a good price – local bookie none too pleased with me….had to empty the FOBT to pay me! Lol
Both dogs flattered to deceive and both came third. However the big Puppy Final at Shelbourne Park was more rewarding with my 20/1 ante post selection Emers Superstar coming fourth after making a horlicks of the start to land us the place money. Our other selection 10/1 Boylesports Hero looked like the winner approaching the third bend but ran out of puff.
Up early Sunday to Stansted for a flight home to Scotland to visit my family. Got a text from Angus the dog to get stuck in to Blackrose Eve @ 2/1 (too big). Read the RP on the plane agreed with Gus. Had a decent bet on my phone once I landed. Read Andy Bell’s Sunday newsletter – shame he only got 4 stars on his review – I got 4 and 1/2 out of 5 still he’s new at this game. I am currently the top tipster on Betfan for 2013 ‘class is permanent.’
Our main bet tonight Eve hosed up my other selection bombed but we still showed a nice profit! Nicely in front in Dec I’m looking to make it 11 winning months in 2013.
Monday was all about the Lawrence Jones Memorial Heats of four competitions started poorly with not one paper shop in my home town having the Racing Post then I was best by internet problems – so tips went out late – I was very keen on Bridge Honcho and backed him accordingly – couldn’t see him get beat in truth….yet somehow he contrived to get turned over by Golden Wonder. Then my second selection Fridays Daryl got it all wrong at the boxes whole son of delboy smashed out – that was that. Poor day at the office, however the only ray of light at the end of the tunnel was my own dog Blackstone Marco running a stormer making Newinn Rocket pull out all the stops to qualify for Fridays final. So I’m really excited about my trip with the lads to Monmore Green on Friday for the Final.
I was waiting Tuesday for the bookies to price up Coventry where the heats of the Golden Muzzle were taking place. It looked a very competitive card and it’s hard to call the outright winner. Anyway I missed the boat as I took my eye off ball the when Swords Jacko was backed from 5/2 into 7/4. But I was keen on a dog that I watched win last week Affane Scolari who scorched home over the shorter 4 bend trip. Though he was in with Adageo Bob and Mountjoy Rebel I thought he could prevail. I never saw the race as I was subject to corporate hospitality at the Scottish Cup 4th rd replay between Forfar and Brechin. But by all accounts he was a tad unlucky as he was making his move at the third bend where he was stopped he finished second to Adageo Bob who had a clear passage.
No opens in the UK anywhere on Wednesday so a day of visiting family, lunch with old school friends and a bet on the horses! Plus studying the Belle Vue and Henlow cards for tomorrow. Even my bet on the horses was foiled by the elements fog! However the good news from Romford was a slick 24.29 trial after a lengthy layoff from my veteran dog Head iton Tom.
Homeward bound late this Thursday afternoon, if the fog lifts from London Town. Had a very nice mini break. Now where is our money going – Belle Vue sees the semi finals of both the Laurels and the Oaks. Hove has some interesting opens on the RPGTV channel, while over at Henlow the Cesarawitch starts. We’re back in for one we backed last week as it seems I’m always a week early with my selections, but lead boots coming out of the boxes again does for Bonamassa Rocks who has brilliant back straight pace but early pace wins the race more times than not! He won’t be getting another pound from this tipster!
Today it’s all roads leading to Monmore up and away early to get the midlands track to watch my boy Marco. I’m sticking to Romford for tonight’s free tip. The bitches race is not as competitive as last week and Ali’s Avenger ran very well in defeat behind a fast winner. Well drawn on the rails she must have a good chance of going round in front and go onto victory.
