The weather has decimated National Hunt Racing today with only the meeting at Market Rasen surviving the elements.
Wincanton was a particularly strong card but the clerk of the course decided very early that there would be no chance which is helpful because everyone knows where they stand then, in about a foot of water!
Rasen will never rank as one of my favourite tracks but it’s all we’ve got today so lets have a look at the 1.40 the Beginners Chase which sets us a puzzle as we have a short priced fave in Changing Times. They do say in a Novice Chase never back odds on well Changing Times is 4/5 with bet365 but you could argue he deserves to be. Hailing from the Twiston Davies yard he has been second in his last two runs in arguably stronger races than this. He seems a solid jumper and the fences at Rasen are amongst the easiest so he would appear to have a massive chance on form. His biggest rival could well be Blackwell Synergy for Jonjo who has acquired this horse from Ireland and has some decent form on soft ground. I do think though that Changing Times will have a fitness and experience advantage over him and I take the Twiston Davies horse to land his first win.
Lastly a big thank you to everyone who listened to our first BetFan webinar last Thursday night. We had a lot of fun putting it together and it seems you found it informative and entertaining. You can now view a recording at http://www.stablelinegold.com.
Stand by for details coming your way very soon about another BetFan live Webinar event. It’s just what the doctor ordered on a cold Winter night!
Back next Thursday.
