Our successful month continues at Stable Line Gold and on reflection Epsom was probably 1-1 between punters and Bookmakers.
The Channel 4 coverage left a lot to be desired with the exception of the always superb Nick Luck who at times you feel almost sorry for given the state of the rest of the team. Tanya it transpired was ill on Friday so we had Brian Gleeson our IRISH visitor on his own I say this because our IRISH visitor Brian Gleeson only likes to talk about horses from IRELAND!!
I really never thought I would hear myself mouth the words welcome back as Tanya returned on Saturday stuttering and mumbling her way through the betting but mouth the words I did shortly before shouting the words where’s the remote I’m watching Racing UK now.
RUK’s coverage was spot on but a strange choice of guest for many in Ruby Walsh, I’m now expecting their Grand National coverage to be fronted by William Buick. Lydia Hislop is by far the best interviewer going especially compared to Channel 4’s increasingly inane Richie Persaud. She asks pertinent questions as opposed to Persaud’s stock “So where will we see this fellow next time Aiden?”
And why does Aiden O’Brian always say Listen at the start of each sentence is he inferring that nobody ever listens to him which as one of the Worlds great Trainers surely cannot be correct. To be fair O’Brian was at his most humble on Saturday and quick to share the accolades around the team unlike many in the Training Ranks.
What now for Australia well personally I would love to see him drop down in trip and run in the Coral Eclipse and then the Juddmonte at York but Listen I will be guided by the boys in the yard!
A good winner for us last Thursday so lets keep that momentum going by backing the exciting Etaab from the Haggas yard. He scooted away from his rivals last time and his American Stallion Street Cry breeds horses who love the firm and that’s what he will get at Yarmouth today.
3:50 Yarmouth – Etaab – Win Bet 7/4 (betvictor)
Back next Thursday.
