To slightly misquote the bard (and only slightly he liked a punt remember that MacBet or something like that about the Scottish gambler)
“To Antepost for Cheltenham or not to Antepost, that is the question”
It certainly is my friends, it certainly is, everyday our inboxes are bombarded with this offer and that offer and value is implied if we lump on now. The latest being 5/2 Annie Power to win any race at Cheltenham. What if she gets injured the week before and doesn’t run, not so clever now is it. Or what if she runs in a race and goes off at 5/1 and your stuck with 5/2 from 7 weeks ago!
Always consider your options with any bet and always pay very close attention to the downside. Ah yes you cry but I’m hanging on for when the big boys in their infinite generosity go Non Runner No Bet, that’s when I’m lumping on! The presence of the no bet in the name implies no risk which it certainly is not. It means you get your money back if it doesn’t run sure but what if it does run and you have taken 6/4 and it’s 5/2 on the day. Do not think that is wildly far fetched, on the day at the Festival the Bookies bet to very low percentages due to huge turnover and fierce competition, in the Antepost markets they don’t!
Only if you get a real springer that is going to be hammered in would I risk it at the moment otherwise lets wait for the day and scoop the pool! This is going to be our biggest and best Cheltenham ever here at BetFan as we journey to the Cotswolds for the greatest show on Earth. It’s Trials day this Saturday and essential viewing and it’s also a great days racing in its own right!
At Stable Line we have info on two horses expected to win their trials and head to the Festival proper full of confidence, join me and on Saturday you will be on too.
As Shakespeare would say “It’s a no brainer!”
Back next Thursday.
