A great week for the Don after our miserable Doncaster resulted in a near 80 point haul for members and a turnaround for September. After a bad run although I should point out still huge profits overall in what is a long term project you have to stick to what you believe in. For me that is to treat every bet on its merits which we always do whether you’re a hundred up or a hundred down!
Newbury yesterday was a very soggy experience but we did see an extraordinary performance from TooKoolforschool from the Karl Burke yard. 7/1 was the early price and we took it on the private service yesterday morning. The horse was the most impressive two year old winner I’ve seen all year and absolutely hosed up. Do not oppose this horse on soft ground wherever it pitches up next as this was breathtaking.
We have the Cambridgeshire meeting next weekend at Newmarket my home track and my members will be betting hard as it’s a meeting we’ve cleaned up at. It’s important at this time of year to know which yards are winding down and which are keeping their horses fully fit. With the introduction of all weather racing more horses are kept on the go longer but there are still yards who go on the easy list. We will be avoiding them like the plague and I’m confident of a big weekend!
There is only one flat meeting today and to be honest it’s dire so we are going jumping and off to Uttoxeter and the 3.40 a decent Handicap Chase.
The horse I like here is the feral O’Brian trained Rockchasebullet @ 4/1 with Stanjames. My members have done very well from this yard and that will continue. They like this one and Paddy Brennan who rides this track well takes the ride. I give him a favourites chance so @ 4/1 we need to back him to win.
Have a great Sunday, join my privates service in time for next weekend and remember even in a rare bad run always, always Trust in the Don.
Back next Sunday.
