Well disappointment last week as West End Rocker took one look at the Aintree fences and said not today. He was pulled up in the end having never gone a yard.
Never mind we are still massively in front on the Saturday tips the most awaited tip in gambling and further proof that the BetFan Daily News is unmissable reading.
Today we are back at Cheltenham and I’m looking forward to being there in person as there is always a wonderful atmosphere at this day with it being nearly xmas. In fact you can buy all your presents here at the track at the many stalls. Always good if you have backed few winners on the day so you feel the bookmakers have really bought all your presents believe me they hate that.
Our tip today runs in the 2.30 the Paul Stewart Gold Cup which is a hugely competitive Handicap Chase. The favourite is Walkon who finished second here to Al ferof in the Paddy Power Gold Cup. My concern with this horse is he never puts in two good performances in a row anymore and I couldn’t trust him at a short price. What also worries me is that his trainer Allan King has had plenty of faves beaten this week so we will look beyond him. The Champion trainer saddles the next two in the betting Unioniste and Cristal Bonus and whilst you have to respect anything this yard enter in these big Saturday Handicaps I like Unioniste but he is a very young inexperienced horse to be in a race as tough as this and Cristal Bonus has a huge weight on the back of winning what might have been a weak race in Ireland.
Our horse is the David Pipe trained Notus de la Tour who is 15/2 with William Hill currently. I suggest you back him Each Way as there are four places on offer. This horse was a very good hurdler and started off well chasing last year till he ran into Flemenstar in Ireland and got soundly beaten. David Pipe was gutted at the time but of course we now know Flemenstar is a wonder horse and is now Gold Cup ante post fave so that defeat is nothing to be ashamed of. He likes to be handy so may well try and make all which is no bad thing round here because you avoid the trouble. The word is his work at home has been sparkling and he looks set to run a massive race so get on each way! It’s Showtime!
My private members were celebrating on Thursday at just after 5.30 when George Guru our only bet of the day went in at Kempton. He was backed down from a morning 16/1 yes yet another monster gamble. There was never any worries as he swooped a furlong out and the money was safely in our pockets. If you want 2013 to be the year you make this game pay then you need to act fast and secure one of the remaining places in my private service. Every single bet I do you will be on too nice and early and at the best prices.
Have a great day and lets hope Notus de la Tour does the business.
Back next Saturday.
