Andy Bell’s Racing Diary – Newmarket then the Rock again. (Sun 21st – Fri 26th June 2015)

June 27, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Sunday 21st. Hey all you Fathers today is for once a day when you DON’T need a stunning 18 year old beauty knocking on your door who looks amazingly like you clutching a card and a present and a questioning wife behind you.

Anyway Friday was a great day at Ascot it wasn’t to hot and once again HM looked stunning in her Green outfit. We already had three stunning winning days at Ascot under our belt and I wasn’t about to start hiding and sitting on our profits today. We kick the day off with an ew bet on the French raider ELEGANT SUPERMODEL ew at 33/1 in the first, as I’m told she still has lots more to offer. Next it’s BALIOS ew 9/2 who looked a shade unlucky at Newmarket when he was to far back and couldn’t quite get up last time and finally our Guineas runner up LUCIDA who just got caught close home also ew at 4/1.

Personally I get Chatterbox and Geoff to put me an ew trixie on all three as once again I’m not intending on course betting, as they WILL ALL no doubt be shorter on opening shows and considerably so come SP time.

Well as we all now know another super winning day and when ELEGANT SUPERMODEL hit the front at the furlong post I thought she had come to win her race, she still got us our ew monies at 20/1. There was no messing about Sent by Andy Bell’s iPad
In summary another great winning day which could of and should of been so much better.

The party in the car park took preference over dear Kylie i’m afraid and we enjoyed it until far too late I’m afraid as I knew I wouldn’t be here tomorrow.

Saturday morning and I am badly hanging, but comforted by the fact we have now had four Ascot winning days on the trot and are well in excess of 130 points profit for this month, Belly Boys always the man for the big occasions. In context I know I made over 300 points profit last June but don’t forget that was on a 1-10 point basis not as it is now 1-5 so in fact this month is nearly as good as my best ever.

I was pleased to see my column kicked old Grumbling into action as he hit his first winner of the week yesterday, maybe he was getting a bit complacent in his old age because I did notice yesterday he is also getting rather more portly.

I am rather concerned about the very differing weather reports I’m receiving this morning raging from heavy rains from 1pm and downpours at 4ish. As you all know the ground will beat any horse and I don’t want to throw away any of our hard earned Ascot profits. Talking of Ascot profits I gave Gitty a wedge this morning to go and book us up for another trip on the Maltese rock as we will have bit of a quiet time after a big festival. Hope you are all doing likewise or something at the very least, even if it’s a new kitchen or a state of the art Dons running machine.

It’s Hawaiian day at Newmarket, but rest assured I shall not be participating but I will be keeping a close eye on the grass skirts.

On arrival the sky’s are blue and the sun is shining, but the look of the clouds in the distance we may have lots of damp grass later. I have decided to keep clear of Ascot today as it’s difficult enough to hit winners on good racing ground, so I have decided to have just the one bet in the 4-00 STORM CHECK ew at 8/1, rather dull I know, but winning is ultimately the name of the game.

A no bet day at Ascot yesterday and after the downpours at Newmarket I wish I could say the same as we had our first losing day of the week.

Although I can take solace from the fact that I ripped hell out of the Grumbling last week and maybe he went the extra yard and  actually found his first winner of the week, hopefully and I truly mean it for you clients not him and not his last.

Anyway it’s a no bet day from me and I can’t get my head round this class 5 and 6 racing after the amazing week we have witnessed and for all you doubters I’m not even dining out on our winnings it’s a quiet day in the garden and a BBQ to finish off the week.

Monday 22nd. Hi and good morning I feel refreshed and raring to go although today doesn’t inspire much confidence. When there’s not much sometimes you need to try and find it, now not a lot of people’s cup of tea I know and as I always say I have nothing to gain, but ROULEAU is trading at 8/15 and his times and form suggests he should be a 1/3 or 1/4 shot, as I say in my days email back him for your maximum amount because barring accidents he will win. Also I disagree with other powers and advise backing NOBLEST, who in my opinion was out paced last time over 7f, but in the other camp the greats said he didn’t stay, we will see.

I have my jolly jaunt booked on the rock and maybe the sun on my head will enable us to finish the month as we started when the sun was on my head, winning. Once again I SINCERELY hope you have put June’s profits, so far, to good use, as never forget this is an unforgiving game and it must be enjoyed when ever possible.

As I have just said in my last breath this game is unforgiving ROULEAU bolts in as I suggested he should at 1/4 and guess what NOBLEST was a bag of shit, so a small losing day.

Tuesday 23rd. Another mediocre days racing and all I have is the Newmarket trained SUPER ICON. He is trading at 7/1 and should be backed ew as his homework suggests he is better than that in this company.

We have our next trip to Malta booked and I hope you have all taken my lead.

With not much happening today I watch the racing through one eye without much interest and when SUPER ICON completely misses the break I have even less enthusiasm if that was possible.

Although he did show some promise as he was running on for a place, but was impeded out of that. I can’t say one for the notebook as he didn’t show much, but he is quite well thought of at home.

Wednesday 24th. Today I am advising heavy/maximum bets on the Paul Nicholls trained TERCEL who won extremely well at Newton Abbot last time and has blossomed at home since. He is trading at 15/8 but as I mention in my email he is drifting so I advise to bet with best odds guaranteed in mind.

Nick Skelton thinks the world of his new recruit APPLESANDPIERRES and I think the 9/4 looks a very fair price so I suggest a nice win bet, also in the same race I hedge my bet slightly as the ex French flat bred PANIS ANGELICUS is well thought of by Tim Vaughan so I also suggest a small ew bet on him.

Another quiet day at home getting ready for my jaunt to Newmarket tomorrow and Friday.

Well done APPLESANDPIERRES as he won for us at a very well backed 7/4 and as all good ew bets seem to do PANIS ANGELICUS did in fact finish fourth.

Purposely I haven’t mention TERCEL because this may not have a before 8pm watershed.

Thursday 25th. I still can’t believe that TERCEL was beaten yesterday, my contacts and I were so very confident. After the race I was very angry at Sam’s ride as he let TERCEL pull his arms out for a circuit and for the life of me I can’t understand why he didn’t give him a little rein and kick on, maybe that’s why I’m here and he’s there, ultimately it was a 2 mile hurdle not a 3 mile chase where energy has to be preserved. Even so jumping two and three out I still thought he was the winner. Watching the race another three times this morning and I’m resigned to the fact that Fergus Knew his horses capabilities and that he had no turn of foot and produced a very good winning ride.

First day of the three day Newmarket meet, with Madness strutting their stuff Friday evening, which should be a good crack and if your thinking of going it’s already a sell out.

Three bets today and the best we could muster was a second on the Mark Tompkins trained MY GUARDIAN ANGEL who made us a small ew profit and as most good ew bets our FULLON CLARETS was fourth messing up our ew double.

Friday 26th. Newmarket today and then in the smartie pot and heading southwards to the rock tomorrow. It would be fantastic to leave on a high and from what I have been told this morning and by who it is very likely. We are having a two pronged attack on Newmarket this evening and hopefully leaving with loads of dosh after a couple of mediocre days.

We are having a MAXIMUM bet on TIZLOVE REGARDLESS at 3/1 in the very first. We backed him sixish runs ago when he last won and I am told that today is again the day, SO GET ON, FILL YOUR BOOTS GUYS.

Then lastly we are having a win only bet on SOLAR FLAIR at 9/2, if either win that’s this holiday and the next paid for, if both win it’s the next five and I shall be booking them up as I hope you will be.

I am aiming to hit well over the 100 points profit this month and hopefully surpass the 1000 points profit barrier at any time soon, which isn’t bad in just a shade over two years, that’s just about an average of 10 points profit EVERY WEEK for two years.

Gotta go now boys and girls be lucky get stuck in today especially on our max TIZLOVE REGARDLESS.

Until next week be good and never, never get caught!

Back next Saturday.

Andy Bell’s Racing Diary…

May 9, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Saturday 2nd. We dropped an absolute Mayday bollock big time yesterday and we now have some serious making up to do. On hind sight which is very easy now we went in far too big on three horses and got our fingers well and truly burnt. On the flip side my LATE service started off really well with Doctor Newlands EXPRESS DU BERLAIS winning very easily for us at 13/8 and MTADA SUPREME nicking us a place in our ew double with the Good Doctors winner, making us a nice profit on the day.

I have consented to putting up four selections to my members today and tomorrow at Newmarket.

As you all know I’m heading to Newmarket today for the first classic of the year, where the young boys strut their stuff. I arrive in plenty of time as I know its going to be a 17000+ crowd today and Newmarket gets grid locked after about 12-00 clock.

The first of my four is STEPPER POINT ew at 5/1 who finished just behind SOLE POWER in the Nunthorpe and I can’t see the favourite, WATCHABLE, winning who has been dropped back from 6f to 5f, maybe its because of the very large amount of place price money on offer for this kind of race.

Next I’m with our Gaelic friends who bring across the very smart TERRITORRIES ew at 6/1 in the 2000g. Harry Candys very smart and quick TWILIGHT SUN at 11/8 who comes here unbeaten and is reportedly flying at home is my next selection and finally the Richard Hannon trained 15/8 shot MUTASAYYID in the last, finally I have a swing at tonight’s Hexham Hunter chase.

As I arrive in the owners and trainers bar I’m immediately called to the bar as its Micky Quinns birthday and things are already rocking, ex Norwich striker and top trainer Michael Channon is in full flow and a few others are in the school. I manage to avoid the bubbles for a while as I want to finish off a couple more things and need to get my LATE service sorted.

My Irish contact “Paddy” lol,  is all over the newish recruit to the Mullins ranks at Punchestown the 16/1 shot CLONDAW WARRIOR who i email out as a maximum ew bet, also and hopefully with all the focus on Newmarket and Punchestown we can nip one under the radar in the first at Uttoxeter. Dicky rides MIDNIGHT SHOT who is trading at 5/2 which i suggest taking.

With all my days bets and emails sorted I can now return to the birthday celebrations and of course the bubbles.

Dicky nearly gets under my radar and I just remember in time as he is jumping to the front two out and bolts up on MIDNIGHT SHOT and gets our day of to a great winning start.

Next STEPPER POINT just misses out on a place by a neck beating WATCHABLE the well backed 5/2 favourite in the process, proving my theory correct but not paying any bills.

Ryan Moore steers the new kiddie on the block from Ballydoyle, GLENEAGLES to quite a cozy win beating our TERRITORRIES into second. Just a NOTE for you all I am told that Ballydoyle have a fantastic little unraced Galileo filly which they think is exceptional and she is named COOLMORE.

Michael Channon brings the elated Guest family to the bar and the party who have just bagged a fourth in the Guineas with their 50/1 shot BOSSY GUEST and now there is certainly no shortage of bubbles, ten bottles in fact and they are firmly of the opinion we will next see their charge at Royal Ascot, have a second look at him as I think he was a shade unlucky in running.

Come on CLONDAW is our shout as three out our 16/1 LATE service punt looks like winning and unfortunately just gets ran out of things but gets us a really profit with a place.

TWILIGHT SON can be called the winner two out and we have bagged our first winner with the minimum of fuss although it’s reported he hated the jar in the ground. Personally I thought he would also go to Royal Ascot but Mr Candy is going to try and keep him under wraps, we will see.

Finally we all cheer home MUTASAYYID giving me all the party and my punters a super end to Newmarket, my meager winnings don’t get a look in at the bar, as in the grand scale of things the 26k for fourth is being very well and nicely reinvested and not a bottle of house in sight.

So many of you were so surprised at my factual figures on early morning prices and SP’s on EVERY big race I thought I would just redo my exercise for today’s 2000g and tomorrows 1000g just to reiterate my point and hopefully help some or even better all of you.

Todays 2000g first ten finishes.

BEST EARLY MORNING PRICE – SP

1st. GLENEAGLES 4/1  4/1
2nd. TERRITORIES 6/1 5/1
3rd. IVAWOOD 12/1 10/1
4th. BOSSY GUEST 100/1 50/1
5th. CELESTIAL PATH 33/1 14/1
6th. HOME OF THE BRAVE 33/1 25/1
7th. DUTCH CONNECTION 25/1 25/1
8th. MOHEET 22/1 20/1
9th. HAIL THE HERO 150/1 100/1
10th. CAPELLA SANSEVERO 80/1 40/1

Now somebody please tell me why should we actually bet on the course, not one single horse in the front ten returned a bigger price than the SP. Don’t get me wrong the on course bookmakers are an integral part of our racing and without them it would be awful, but come on give us all a fighting chance and stop taking the mickey out of the on course punters, who pay good money to get in. I will do my final analyses tomorrow, hopefully it has enlightened some of you and hopefully all of you, because getting the best prices is absolutely vital to making profits and winning money.

Sunday 3rd. After such an enjoyable and winning day yesterday we wake up with my LATE service topping the Betfan tree after making a big profit yesterday and such a shame after such a good winning day at Newmarket with a 5/1 ew fourth, a 6/1 ew second, a 11/ 8 winner and finishing off with a 15/8 winner, If I hadn’t of made such a horlicks of the Hunter chase at Hexham last night my ANDY BELL’s service would of also been bang up there.

Once again I am on my toes and as the sun is shining Shaz has donned her glad rags and we are on our way. The traffic is very light compared with yesterday and we sail straight into the course.

Once again my four consists of a Gaelic raider FINTRY who is widely available at 2/1. Also I add as I am told that the wind operation has been very successful for ZANETTO during the winter and as he has dropped to a very favorable mark his 16/1 is thought to be far to big.

As he should be after yesterdays good run Micheal Channon was very bullish about once again nicking a place with his runner today, MALABAR at 10/1. Finally the Roger Varion stable thinks that MUQTASER will go very close and the 3/1 looks very fair and he completes my days four.

We once again rock up in the owners and trainers and this time as we are nice and early we can get a prime seat, near the paddock windows and the state of the art flat screen TV’s.

I can remember this day last year I was accompanied by the Great Alfonze when he started the day off by backing Lady Cecils MIGHTY YAR at 6/1 in the first and running the length of the bar like a red faced taz cheering and in the process copping a few glances from the suits lol and than the moans when he realized the Cors light was £4-20 a bottle. Whatever the result today even money it will be a shade more sombre. When Linda Perrett’s passes the post in front to only a few murmurs.

He would of been even more animated this year as the Cors is now £4-80 a bottle, I can hear him saying now, f****g £9-60 a pint, we must be f*****g mental!!!!

I’m not sure about FINTRY to be honest, he was shuffled back after a decent break and than when he did see daylight he never really picked up, but saying that he never had a hard race, so the jury is still out. A furlong out as ZANETTO our 14/1 ew shot hits the front I let out a cheer only to see him just get tapped for toe and finish third giving us our first profit of the day. Very annoyingly MALABAR just misses a place at 10/1 and finishes fourth. Finally MUQTASER never really looks like winning and finishes third giving us a small loss on the day.

With no bet on the LATE service to look forward to we leave relatively early and head for the Chinese at the top of town.

Today’s early price v SP summary.

Todays 1000g first 10 finishes.

BEST EARLY MORNING PRICES –  SP

1st. LEGATTISSIMO 10/1 13/2
2nd. LUCIDA 7/1 7/1
3rd. TIGGY WIGGY 20/1 9/1
4th. MALABAR 9/1 11/1
5th. FADHAYYIL 7/1 7/1
6th. IRISH COOKIE 25/1 20/1
7th. OSAILA 9/1 15/2
8th. QUEEN NEFERTITI 33/1 25/1
9th. TERROR 25/1 25/1
10th. LOCAL TIME 18/1 16/1

The horse that finished fourth, MALABAR was the only one during our exercise that actually finished at a bigger SP than the morning price out of 30 horses and that was only by 2 points. I think that’s enough of me banging on about it, you pays your money you takes your chance and as Clint Eastwood said in “Every Which Way But Loose” it’s over to you now Clyde.

Monday 4th. A relatively quiet day on the betting front although it’s a typical bank holiday with loads of meetings. I get an early call telling me that the Richard Hannon trained AVENUE DU MONDE will be put to sleep at the back of the field by Hughsey and come late. I email this information out and suggest a maximum 5pt win bet and taking the 3/1 which is on offer. I decide to finish my ANDY BELL’s bets off with a smaller bet on MAGESTIC BOND who was very well supported on his racecourse debut only to bump into one and today’s 11/4 will come under pressure as they are after their monies back.

To back my anti-post selection for the DERBY you will first need to firmly put a line through his Guineas run on Saturday as I was told there were major excuses.

Have an ew bet taking the 20/1 on the Ballydoyle challenger OL’ MAN RIVER.

Thankfully a late call comes through which enables me to get my LATE service back in the game after a day off yesterday. No rocket science but as I’ve said before you sometimes get better odds on shots than others and today’s 4/5 on the Dicky ridden ROCK N RYTHAM should be closer to 1/2 on, coupled with BOLD LASS who in my opinion should be odds on and is 6/4 I email out two maximum bets on them.

Both ROCK N RYTHAM and BOLD LASS bolt in as we expected them too, unfortunately two later at Kempton let us down for a super day and we finish with a small winning day.

Tuesday 5th. The LATE service is still top of the tree this morning, with all these heady heights we will soon be getting a nose bleed. It’s looking as if we will have a no bet day, this always happens just after a big meeting and before another so I’m not duly surprised.

With this in mind and I know I will be very busy for the rest of the week I arrange a day out in Newmarket for Paul and myself. We get Colin to do the driving and head into town. The first port of call is the Wagon and Horses in hope that we can couple a fun day with some work as well, if the right people are in there, trust me more people have been sent to the poor house listening to Newmarket tips.

Luckily I meet one of the good lads who need listening to and he gives me a hot pot for Friday which will be a maximum bet on my main service. Just as the first Stella is being poured is all stations go as I am told Mike Murphy will win the first at Brighton with his FUJIANO. I email him out and to my main clients and suggest taking the 13/8. Paul and I pop just down the road to Paddy Powers and back it as well. It funny all the horses in Newmarket and I get three stable lads listening to me and also backing it.

We have a nice little school forming this afternoon and it’s help by Paddy Power paying for the beer tokens as Mike Murphy has worked the oracle on his new inmate and wins very easily.

It’s a far cry from Fakenham today in here where it looks very blustery and cold so I’m quite pleased I made the managerial decision to rock up in Newmarket. We pop down the hill smiling at Paddy Powers as we pass and head into the White Hart. After a few more in there Steve calls insisting we back THE WEALERDEALER in tonight’s Hunter Chase at Exeter. This time we cross the road to Betfreds and back him ew at 4/1. I email him out to my LATE service and also suggest backing him ew.

The beer is going down very nicely and Colin is starting to get itchy feet and stamping around, as we have a nice pocket full of winnings we send him across the road to get himself an Indian, it’s worth the score (£20) to get him out of the way for an hour or so.

We head into the Kings club to see if any of the posher gents, ok trainers, are yet out and luckily they are and we can not only drink we can hopefully find out whats live and fancied later on in the week and especially at Chester. Luckily I can get my iPad up and running so we can watch our race without trekking back down the road, the pressure is firmly on as Colin has taken another £200 ew down the road for a couple of our companions. All the way round we are going very nicely and jumping the last Ian does a great job steering the old monkey and eventually wins going away. Oi Oi another great winning day as Colin goes to lighten Betfred’s Tills and comes back with a heap to divvy up. Yes we are TREATED to bubbles this time, but I cry off, Paul certainly didn’t and is filling his hollow legs at a great rate of knots and I settle for wine as I can’t afford to be hanging badly for tomorrow as we now have a busy three days.

Wednesday 6th. A great winning day yesterday two more contacts firmly placed in my mobile and both my services winning with the Late service still top and slowly building with 33points  and over a 50% strike rate. We arrived home at a decent time, well decent enough anyway for me to be up at 6am and heading to get my paper.

As I have agreed to help out in the Chester special for Betfan I have decided not to go there this year, which in all honesty wasn’t any great shakes as it’s an awful journey for me of about 5-6 hours and it doesn’t hurt missing a year now and again.

Today the Grumbling Don is kicking us off with Day 1 of the Chester special, I am doing day 2 and the Colonel is bringing us home with day 3.

I had put up SILVER WINGS in the first at Chester and I wasn’t the only one who thought he had come to win his race as he traded at 1-03 in running, only for the Chester little master Franny Norton to get back up bang on the line. Our next GABRIELS KING looked the winner of the Chester Cup turning for home but evidently didn’t stay and got us our place money as we had backed him ew at 9/1.

The first of our night bets GULLYS EDGE should never of got beaten as he should of made it a test and not let the flat breed beat him for speed in the final furlong, but better was to come as James Reveley rode a lovely race on COURTOWN OSCAR to give us a nice winning day. The icing on the cake would of been EXECUTIVE BENEFIT getting us an 11/2 place and giving us an ew double with COURTOWN OSCAR but he just got muscled out of the places.

Thursday 7th. It’s my day in the sun doing the Chester special where I have to make a selection in every race. The Grumbling Don hasn’t handed me the batten in the lead lets say after a disappointing day one, well he did get a non runner. I get my selections done and sent by 10-30am. My main email also goes out and I have four selections.

MASTER OF FINANCE ew at 11/1 in the first, SPEEDY MOVE 9/1 ew in the big handicap and two away, SAINT LUCY at 85-40 and finally what I think should be a 1/2 shot WOLF SWORD who is 4/5.

I remember this day last year I got off to a flyer as i backed David Barron’s TRES CORONAS in the first and today I have gone against him I hope it doesn’t come back to bite me in the arse.

We do again get of to a flyer in my special as I hit the winner COLLABORATION at 11/4 and the third ew MASTER OF FINANCE, who was also my ANDY BELL’s clients first bet. Next I have pinned my colours to CANNOCK CHASE and AIR PILOT and we are done by the John Gosden MAVERICK WAY and finish second and third. I have taken on the Ballydoyle HANS HOLBEIN in the next with FUTURE EMPIRE and regretted it as soon as the stalls opened, I don’t think we have seen a Derby winner though. We hit the next winner with YOUNG JOHN who we had taken 4/1 on in the morning and he wins very nicely at a well backed 2/1.

Unfortunately in the last two very difficult handicaps we don’t trouble the scorers. Not a bad days work with two winners and a big priced place. On my main service we got also got an 11/1 place and a 4/5 winner.

Friday 8th. Come on the Colonel it’s your turn today all the best.

I’m heading down to Ascot for the night meet today, traveling back and than there again tomorrow.

All my selections are done and I am now leaving for Ascot, have a good day and speak soon.

Back next Saturday.

Andy Bell’s Racing Diary… All Ended In Tears.

May 2, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Sunday 26th. Yesterday was warming up to be one of the the great days in racing history and I don’t mean the Greedy 1’s being more generous on AP’s final ride on BOX OFFICE than they were on his National ride SHUTTHEFRONTDOOR. They creamed it in with a ludicrous price in the National and no doubt they will again today.

Anyway I’m heading down to Sandown again today to make sure I’m part of whatever happens and to witness the retirement of the greatest Jockey of all time.

I’m riding shotgun to good old Magoo Chatterbox who will race me there in record time no doubt. I can’t remember last time Sandown was a complete sell out and as soon as we near the course you could be mistaken for thinking this is a mini Cheltenham.

I have emailed out five selections three here at Sandown one at Haydock and one at Ripon.

NORAB at 3/1 is trained by Marco Botti and is our first runner of the day at Ripon and trying two miles for the first time, as he hits the front at the furlong post I think great start, but he doesn’t stay and is just ran out of a place. Not the perfect start to the day but a long way to go yet. We now have a two hour wait until our next runners which both run in the Gold Cup at 3-50, PAINT THE CLOUDS ew at 10/1 and the good Doctors National runner ROYAL KNIGHT ew at 25/1. Firstly we have to see if AP can get the party going on the dodgy MR MOLE. Half way round I’m thinking just maybe, but after he’s headed three out his fate is sealed as he smashes through the penultimate fence and he plugs on and finishes third.

PAINT THE CLOUDS is smashed up in the betting and goes off at 13/2 leaving our early morning price of 10/1 looking huge. Well not just ours was shortened up the SP’s were again a disgrace, I want to show you why it’s useless betting on course nowadays and the Greedy 1’s have the gaul to complain, this is why it’s suicide and if you check this yourselves in the big races you will see it happens EVERY week.

BEST EARLY MORNING PRICE.                          SP

GRAND JESTURE      10/1.                                  8/1
LE REVE                      10/1.                                      8/1
PAINT THE CLOUDS  10/1.                                        13/2 fav
BOBS WORTH            12/1.                                        10/1
UNIONISTE                14/1.                                        12/1
THE PACKAGE          14/1.                                        12/1
GUESS AGAIN            16/1.                                        12/1
VICS CANVAS            16/1.                                        12/1
JUST A PAR                18/1.                                        14/1
ALGERNON PAZHAM 25/1.                                        12/1

As you can see and I haven’t taken a random ten from the race it’s the FRONT TEN in the market and all HAVE markedly shortened, which I think tells a story, you must take early morning prices and if you do you also have a safety net if by chance one does drift you get best odds guaranteed, oh and first past the post and oh first five places, come on guys and gals talk with your pockets.

Three out I’m thinking Sam on PAINT THE CLOUDS is going best of all but we don’t quite get home and finishes fourth getting us a 10/1 place.

1st.  JUST A PAR      early morning price 18/1 sp 14/1
2nd. VICS CANVAS                                  16/1 sp 11/1
3rd.  LE REVE.                                          10/1 sp 8/1
4th.  PAINT THE CLOUDS.                      10/1 sp 13/2
and if you were lucky enough as I only saw two offering five places on course.
5th. GUESS AGAIN.                                16/1 sp 12/1

It’s now the monumental 4-25 and I’m hoping the aptly named BOX OFFICE can do the unthinkable, oh again by the way he was 9/2 early this morning and is now 11/4 and probably going to return 5/2 under the weight of money.

Just for one moment when AP pulls him off the rail and wide, I think hello, but he never really looks like winning after that in all honesty. How ironic Dicky, who has been second in the jockeys championship to AP fifteen times wins the race and oh you thought everybody’s money was on BOX OFFICE the winner BROTHER TED was 14/1 early doors and SP’s at 9/1 funny that Mmmmm.

AP parades in front of us and it’s absolutely marvellous even Dicky is in tears after winning the race because his great friend has now gone, no need for any of these posh superlatives or writers phases in my eyes they are just “proper, proper blokes.”

We now need to refocus on our next bet GENEROUS RANSOME ew at 5/1, unfortunately he just misses out on a place. Our day now depends on the very aptly named John Quinn runner FINAL COUNTDOWN who we have backed ew at 5/1. When the young apprentice Joe Doyle dives for the rail my heart is in my mouth as I’ve had a good bet on him, but thankfully the gap opens and we win very nicely at a very short 9/4 sp.

In summery an absolutely fabulous history making day out at the races made better by my punters and I winning a right nice few quid.

Sunday morning, A very nice winning day for us yesterday but have this early morning little thought which we all take for granted, AP who is probably now having his first Sunday morning fry up for twenty years and by god he has earned every sausage and bean of it.

Not much happening today or any great racing to tickle our fancies although I do have a couple to up, but nothing strong.

We record another two seconds today although WHERES TIGER was an ew bet so no harm done.

Monday 27th. Once again the racing is very poor, but I suppose we have the Guineas at Newmarket this weekend, next week the Chester festival and than the super duper Dante meeting. We will really be able to kick on from this weekend onwards as habitually May should be a very strong month for us.

Keith Dagleish sends his BEAUTIFUL STRANGER just down the road to Ayr today and at 13/2 I think he is a cracking ew bet, so I email him out and get Tom to punt him for me as well.

We also back one at Southwell but I don’t want to mention him anymore.

I am traveling up to Windsor this afternoon and keeping everything firmly crossed that the forecast rain doesn’t come, because if it does stay away we will be having a very strong bet on my LATE service.

The journey up to Windsor went much quicker than the donkey we backed at Southwell, he came out last and stayed there. I thought BEAUTIFUL STRANGER was very unlucky, with a run in my opinion he would of won although he did get us a place and our ew money with a flying finish when he did get out, another winner slipped through our fingers.

Just a little solace our donkey at Southwell was reported lame by SDS after the race, although it doesn’t pay any bills, it makes me feel a bit better and maybe I was a bit harsh on him.

The rain has missed us so I have a big bet and email out ARC LIGHTER at 15/8. All the owners are in the parade ring and heckle Robert Cooper because he doesn’t interview them pre race and they are convinced they are going to win. When I see ARC LIGHTER in the flesh I’m surprised he can even lift his head as he has every conceivable aid on and has been smashed up in the betting to 5/4. As George Baker brings him from the back round the field I think the betting has it right and we are on a winner, but the naughty boy keeps loads for himself and hangs and won’t go through with his challenge. You can understand why he has all the aids now and even they didn’t work the oracle and poor old us were on another very live one and have to settle for another clear second.

Tuesday 28th. It was a quiet journey home last night with BEAUTIFUL STRANGER being very unlucky and not winning and ARC LIGHTER not wanting to win.

The Mick Channon trained POTTERNELLO had a nice spin out at Newbury a couple of weeks ago and has reportedly come on tremendously since and is expected to go close today. Also on the same email I suggest an ew bet on HURRY HOME POPPA at 5/1 for all my ANDY BELL’s clients.

It’s the start of the great Punchestown festival today and that is one of the few racing events which is still on my bucket list, I think I will tick that box next year.

Just prior to me leaving home I get two come through which some people would love as its a name double, STORMBOUND at 2/1 and STORMLIGHTNING at 11/4, which I put on my LATE service and adding more fuel to the names fire SKY are the best prices.

I’m not sure but I think young Bishop bottled it on POTTERNELLO and didn’t take the gap up the rail when it appeared and than coasted in out of the places.

HURRY HOME POPPA did nick us a place and I really thought he was going to win at one stage, but once again we have to settle for a very small profit.

Our very aptly named pair on the LATE service showed us a small profit with STORMLIGHTNING winning at 11/4 and STORMBOUND finishing in the places with a third.

Wednesday 29th. Once again yesterday a couple of hard luck stories and a small losing day.

MR BOSSY BOOTS is being very well touted in Newmarket this morning and they are of the opinion that the extra furlong shouldn’t represent a problem, so at 11/4 he is the first out. I’ve had a look at Punchestown this morning and that is as far as it’s going to go as it looks impossible and anything could win the first three races with the later ones looking slightly easier.

Finally I add the 4/1 shot THATCHERITE who looks to be booked for a place at the very least.

That’s about it for the day well betting wise as I now have the unenviable job of going shopping for a new suit for a Maltese wedding at the end of May.

If MR BOSSY BOOTS had of been good enough he could of won no excuses today, he was well positioned and simply was beaten by a better horse trained by Olly Stevens LEAR SPEAR and I have been told he is being aimed at the ROYAL HUNT CUP.

Well the only good thing about today was I did actually find a really nice Boss suit in Hatters, note to myself don’t forget to take the Boss tag off my sleeve so I don’t look a prat like Simon Holden did last year at York lol lol.

Thursday 30th. I am having a day in town with the lads as it’s going to probably be my last chance for a while as I’m tied up all weekend at Newmarkets two day Guineas meeting than I leave for Chester on Tuesday and if I’m still in one piece its York’s Dante Three day meet the week after, when we should be showing some really decent profits as the racing is now top class.

Today is looking as if it’s going to be a real busy one and I am told we will have two or three across the water today which will fill some slots for the LATE SERVICE.

First up to my ANDY BELL’s clients its MAUREB at Redcar and at 4/1 he looks a cracking bet. My Keith Dagleish contact thinks that SIR LANCELOTT will run a big race at 10/3. Steve has been told that the Irish are going to be piling into the Ruby ridden PLEASANT COMPANY, so I advise taking the 4/1 on him and finally Phil Kirbys EPISODE’s work at home suggests he shouldn’t be a 7/1 shot so I advise backing him ew. Finally an ew double on PLEASANT COMPANY at 4/1 and SIR LANCELOTT at 10/3.

Poor old cheap and cheerful Weatherspoon’s will have to put up with our antics again today and hopefully once again greedy old Joe from across the road will pay for it, well hopefully because we have loads of ammunition to fire at him today, so its going to be a whole duck or a no dinner day.

just as I have donned my best holy designer jeans, the call I have been waiting for comes through. Paddy, well that’s what I’m calling him anyway has three for me all at his manor. So like a good little boy I back all three and email them out to my LATE service clients.

USA is first up as he runs in the 4-15 and I advise taking the 9/1 ew on offer, next is the unlucky Cheltenham runner QUANTITATIVEEASING who was carried out when cantering and finally the 9/1 shot WHITEOUT in the 7-15, I hope I can still focus by then to watch him.

We arrive in town just in time to bet and watch MAUREB, as usual the 4/1 is a thing of the past so I have a £150 win bet at 10/3, Paul does the same and true to form Tony the machine goes against us and tries to get us beat, the bad bastard. The Oi Oi’s start fully a furlong out and nearing the line they are rather more animated as we have The Machines fast finishing favourite PUSHINGMYPATIENCE, which he is closing with every stride, they flash past together but the shadows suggest we have just held on.

As we hear the result and are confirmed the winner I bet Tony Coyle could hear our cheers in Redcar as he was unsaddling.

Fantastic start to the day Paul and I are now a monkey a piece up in CASH, we could be very dangerous if things pan out nicely. The large G & T’s and white wine spitzers are going down very nicely and it’s soon time to reinvest on SIR LANCELOTT. Same price 10/3 we both have the same bets and how unfortunately were we not to be Oi Oi-ing again, I don’t know if it was a poor ride or unlucky, well whatever it was were not up that counter again.

Little time to reflect because we have our first runner at Punchestown, USA who we back ew at 9/1 for a couple of fiftys each, a thrilling race and we nick a place and a small profit. 15/8 looks huge next for QUANT so again our bets are mirrored and we have £200 win and take the 15/8.

Another thriller but this time after looking and trading like the winner we are nutted on the line. We now need to take stock as our £500 is quickly dwindling and we are about £200 up each. As I said earlier it’s whole duck or no dinner so we have our whole £200 ew on EPISODE at 7/1, OMG how close was that we lifted the roof off Corals as he hit the front a furlong out only to just run out of puff in the last 100 yards and finish second. Well another small profit.

PLEASANT COMPANY and Ruby are carrying all our profits ew at 4/1, so once again we’re both all in with our days profits of £291 ew at the 4’s. When Ruby loomed up two out I was thinking how far and so was all Corals because now we had a nice little school with us who were also betting our horses, dam and blast I think was commonly used as once again we didn’t quite last home, no harm done and one more race to go.

£582 PROFIT with the beer in the wit is out and I am breaking all my strict rules, but somehow it seems ok when your playing with their money. Do we bang it all on UN DE SCEAUX at 1/6, after a few yes’s and no’s we decide against it and instead put the £290 ew at 9/1 on our last runner in the 7-15 WHITEOUT, or is going to be WIPEOUT, drunk men do funny things just in case this goes tits up we have saved £2 so we can say we have made a profit on the day, pathetic lol.

Well you can imagine the scenes as we hit the front between the last two and this time he doesn’t run out of puff and this time I’m sure Willie Mullins could hear ALL of us this time. We have saved the best till last and won a cool £3,132 between us, so with our monies back we have creamed £3,712 from greedy Joe. Bubbles, bubbles and more bubbles is the next hours pleasure and even more exciting both my services and clients have a fantastic winning day as well.

Friday 1st. I don’t know how the rest feel but I’m hanging like the proverbial bastard. What a day for us all, but it shows how easily things can go wrong or how good it is when they go right. Looking at things this morning how unlucky were my LATE SERVICE clients an ew trixie with a 9/1 winner a 15/8 beaten a head an a 9/1 ew, still a nice profit and even better as we backed them all singularly as well.

New month, new start and time to kick on because if I can’t make my monies in the next five months it’s likely to be a long cold winter.

Already the information is coming in thick and fast and my ANDY BELLs clients have already got three to back and again I’ve got two more coming from across the water later for my LATE service.

Today’s email consists of John Gosdens very talented little madam JOURNEY at 5/2. I also add two more from Musselburgh 3-25 ARTHURS SECRET at 11/4 and finally the short priced REGAL DAN in the 4-00.

Finally I suggest an ew Trixie on the three. Well if you rock up at Newmarket, Chester or York give me a buzz or Facebook me and we will meet up for a beer.

Until next week be good if not be careful.

Back next Saturday.

Andy Bell’s Racing Diary… That Sinking Feeling.

April 25, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Sunday 19th. Yesterday finished as a level day where we hit a nice winner with MR SINGH who did everything wrong, missed the break ran green and Frankie had to be bang on song getting MR SINGH up on the line, quite cozily in the end. We had firmly pinned our colours to JELLICLE BALL as a maximum ew bet after super reports from the stable about his well being and although we were well clear of the third we bumped into a bit of a tar tar in the shape of the Ralph Becket trained REDSTART and finished second.

Sunday Morning. Bit disappointed we didn’t kick on yesterday after our super start to the flat season, but level Saturdays are ok as I’ve said many times it’s habitually a Greedy 1s fest.

Stratfords track is lovely and flat, quick and very fair, which as a punter I love. DESERT RECLUSE runs in the first and with POKER SCHOOL carrying so much more weight (17lb) he has to be a good win bet at 11/4, so he is my first Sunday email and its to my ANDY BELLs clients. I soon add to him with WHATDOESTHEFOXSAY ew at 4/1 later on in the card and i’m told he is hoping to sit behind the Mark Usher pace setter, but if that doesn’t happen he will attempt to make it.

Both our selections are second today and these seconds are starting to annoy me a shade now as it’s the difference between being fortyish points in front and over a hundred odd as we have now hit three on the trot and ten in all so far this month and a lot of them at prices as well. (4/1, 18/1, 6/4, 6/1, 4/1, 11/4, 13/8, 6/1, 4/1 and 11/4) Grrrrrr.

Monday 20th. I’m very annoyed with our form at the moment, it’s just not quite happening for us is it. Anyway no point crying we need to get on with things and I’m heading into Newmarket to watch a couple of lots, nothing in particular this morning, but we have the Derby trial at Epsom where John Gosden will have the unbeaten sort priced favourite and than APs final race day at Sandown on Saturday.

Unusually things are relatively quiet at breakfast and the main talk surrounds the Micky Channon trained SHINELIKEADIAMOND who is trading at 5/1, but and its a big but he has a poor draw in stall 16. I decide to take the chance that the Channon filly is good enough to over come the poor draw, back and email her out ew, also I add the Smiley ridden HARRYS FAREWELL ew who is expected to go very well.

Lots of racing is coming our way early this week but unfortunately for most of the time the quality is going to be pretty poor.

Don’t give up on SHINELIKEADIAMOND although she didn’t get us a place as the draw was in fact her undoing as she had to do most of her running to get a position and at the end of the race that told. Smileys, HARRYS FAREWELL is smashed up in the betting into 15/8, but doesn’t quite find as expected.

Tuesday 21st. As I had suggested we have lots of racing this morning, although nothing of any great substance. I’m not intending on going racing until Friday, so today I’m intending on having a day in the town this afternoon.

ARIEL has just gone back to Paul Nicholls after having a spell on the point to point circuit and a couple of hunter chasers and is thought to have slipped to a very exploitable Mark if he has retained his ability. On the back of this information I email him out as an ew bet to nothing at 9/2. Also I did learn yesterday that the James Fanshaw trained CELESTIAL KNIGHT had wintered very well and was expected to make a winning return at Kempton this afternoon, so I add him and also a small ew double.

I meet Paul Cabbage and we settle down to watch the racing and hopefully ease our days X’s out of Joe from just across the road.

Yes it’s Weatherspoon’s again, it’s a lovely day with lots of skin on show outside but we have to remain inside as it’s impossible to see the iPad outside in the sun, life’s not fair sometimes is it lol.

ARIEL again just finds one to good for him and we bank another second and obviously Fanshaw didn’t have CELESTIAL KNIGHT as fit as either the money or he had thought and doesn’t find anything and finishes mid pack. ROCKITEER runs in the Hunter chase at Ludlow and we are told that him and the Good doctors horse NEVEROWNUP have a match and will take each other on which I have already emailed out so we attempt to recoup our CELESTIAL KNIGHT loses with a win on ROCKITEER and a straight forecast on the more dodgier stayer NEVEROWNUP. It’s nip and tuck all the way but from two out I’m confident we are going to draw on both bets and we do. We are now in front with just one to run which is on my LATE SERVICE and I have advised TAEXALI who is a short priced favourite later on at Brighton, which isn’t the best of combinations I must admit. Thankfully we don’t lose faith and back our convictions and TAEXALI obliges quite nicely and gives us a really nice winning day. After a dodgy Newmarket tip we have finished the day with good old JOE paying for our G&T’s.

Wednesday 22nd. I email out two nice priced runners today to my ANDY BELLs clients and suggest an ew double.

MUDAMMERA ew at 4/1 and apparently Corals have already taken far to much and are very wary about their liabilities on WHAT ABOUT CARLO at 9/2.

I have just decided that I shall be heading Southwards this weekend rather than Northwards to Donny. The reason being is I would like to be part of AP’s send off on Saturday at Sandown, it will be something, win or lose that we shall never forget, for what he has done for racing it’s the least we can do and it will be good to be a part of it.

WHAT ABOUT CARLO doesn’t handle the Epsom undulations which is no fault of his own as many better horses have suffered the same problem and have popped up else where, which I think will be the case on this one, so just NOTEBOOK him please as I know what he has been doing and what he is thought capable of.

To round off a miserable day MUDAMERRA runs very flat and isn’t given a hard time by Graham Lee after its apparent he’s not going to win. What makes it worse is I was told Tuesday morning that John Gosden was expected to win the Derby trial and personally or client wise I did nothing about it and watches him bolt in by, anyway hindsight, loads.

Thursday 23rd. I have a maximum tip on a Hunter Chaser today which the connections think defeat is out of the question. As soon as I hear it’s all systems go at Warwick I back BALLYTOBER and email him out advising the 9/4 should be taken.

We are really geared up and excited because defeat is thought to be out of the question, until he unseats half way round, another kick in the proverbial’s, words won’t explain how low I feel at the moment, but to give you a clue I could parachute out of a snakes arse.

Friday 24th. Oh dear with BALLYTOBER unseating yesterday my week is getting worse after such a super, super start to the month and our points are dropping like a brides knickers. What makes it worse yesterday was at Newbury the time before we beat the winner by thirty lengths.

The flat proper, well when it’s more settled just can’t get here quick enough for me and us now.

I have several selections to place amongst my services today and one of them is in the very first at Sandown, SHAAKIS ew at 10/1, I am told he will go very well after his cosy Chelmsford win. I have already punted and emailed him out to my ANDY BELLs clients, unfortunately the rest I will have to let you know next week as I’m leaving in a few minutes to go to Sandown and haven’t a great deal of time, this shortened column will happen a shade more I’m afraid as most Friday’s though the summer I shall be away racing and leaving relatively early.

Back next Saturday.

Andy Bell’s Racing Diary… Newmarket Beckons

April 18, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Sunday 12th. After a cracking day Friday with two nice priced winners at 10/1 and 7/1 and a couple of seconds, our luck turned sour on the big day itself. The first race I had made a two horse race and that’s the way it ended as we backed the first and second, next  it’s GODS OWEN who I thought looked well in after his second at the festival to UN DE SEAUX, next was very much the same as COLE HARDEN finished YES second and than WONDERFUL CHARM was only beaten a neck and a neck giving us an ew third. How annoying and frustrating one winner a third and four seconds in the first four races. It was than the ” big one” three out PINEAU DE RE started to work his way through the field and our other bet THE DRUIDS NEPHEW ew took it up going very strongly, that’s where our buzz was cruelly curtailed as jumping two out when three clear DRUIDS crumpled on landing after jumping the fence and PINEAUS charge flattened out, leaving us thinking this is firmly not going to be our day in the sun as it was last year. Our day rather fizzled out after that as Ruby’s ride did in the last who we had backed ew finishing fifth.

So in summary out of the twenty one races we achieved;

4. Firsts
6. Seconds how annoying are these.
2. Thirds
Fourth

We got over half the races placed which I think is a cracking feat in itself resulting in a very small three day festival loss, if only just one of our seconds had of won we would of turned in profitable figures, day one and CALL THE COPS, 5 points win at 6/1 beaten a head springs to mind immediately, although as you can see there’s many more if, buts and whys that’s how close we were.

Sunday morning and I can’t see anything whatsoever to back today and after my excursions in the last three days I’m certainly not going to attempt to find something that’s not there.

Monday 13th. My Donald McCain contact really thinks that MASTER DEE can win the first today so I email him out at 13/8. Also I add a maximum Hunter Chaser bet CRAZY DIAMOND who is fully expected to win after bossing and beating the pointer fields in his last five races and also advise taking the 13/8.

The maximum bet we had on our Hunter Chaser went begging this afternoon and I think when Nick watches his ride on CRAZY DIAMOND the prolific point winner tonight, he will think he was too over confident and that he should of kicked on three out instead of taking a pull or even again two out before getting out ridden after the last to finish a close second.

Tuesday 14th. There’s not a great deal happening today and I am working on tomorrows cards for the opening day of the Craven meeting.

Wednesday 15th. Oi oi here we go first day of the Craven meeting and NOW it’s time for me to start kicking in those big profits again. If you’re not already part of Bellie Boys team you need to join up now because we will start making some tasty profits AGAIN and making those Greedy 1’s eyes water.

That’s enough mouthing we need to put it all into hard practice. As I explain in my early email the Brocklesby winner RAVENHOE looks very vulnerable at a short price as he won in a slow time and the second was well beaten at Musselburgh next time and the Hugo Palmer stable are adamant that if GIFTED MASTER gets beaten it will have to be a group horse that does it, so on the back of this I suggest a big win bet at 7/2.

Next I also advise my ANDY BELLs clients a minimum bet in the Free handicap on GLENALMOND ew at 16/1 as I am told the 4/9 favourite FAYDHAN has not been sparkling at home and needs taking on and finally and certainly not least I can’t understand why the Luca Cumani SPIRITING trading at a silly short price of 2/1 when he was only second in a maiden at Yarmouth and SALT ISLAND finished close up in a listed race, to me it’s a no brainer it has to be SALT ISLAND ew at 13/2.

It seems so long since I made the shortish journey to the Rowley Mile track and it’s only been a matter of months, but I still get the same buzz and tingles.

On arrival I bump into the John Gosden team and they are very bullish about the chances of GOLDEN HORN ridden by Frankie later this afternoon, so I immediately email him out as a LATE advice and suggest taking the 9/4 on offer.

Goly gosh at last my grandmas tv’s have gone and been up graded in the owners and trainers as we have some state of the art flat screens on show and it’s not even snowing anymore. The whole place has been very tastefully upgraded and they are even giving away free fairy cakes, welcome to the 21st century Newmarket well done.

Oi oi our day gets off to a flyer as GIFTED MASTER flies up the rail and gives us a 4/1 winning start, with the well backed favourite unsighted. next we are taking on the very short priced favourite FAYDHAN who hasn’t been sparkling at home with GLENALMOND at 16/1, coming up the hill I can see my information regarding the 1/2 favourite is spot on as he wins nothing, but unfortunately we cant quite nick a place, with hind sight I should of got stuck into laying the odds on favourite, easy now isn’t it.

Things just keep getting better as GOLDEN HORN who is still as green as grass wins very nicely and I’m told he will now go for the Dante at York and Frank Spencer is at his best as he bolts up on SALT ISLAND ending a fantastic day and giving us all a 7/1 winner to go home with.

In all a great days work and we have killed the first day of the Craven meeting.

Thursday 16th. After a fantastic opening day at the Craven yesterday where we hit three winners 4/1, 9/4 and 7/1 I really want it to happen today as it’s the first annual jolly boys outing and all eyes are firming on me. The bus picks us up at about 10ish as Bedford lodge is the first port of call and god forbid if we didn’t get at least four bears into us before we got to the course.

After our successes yesterday I’m going for it today with three selections and an ew trixie. I am emailing these out early as i don’t want things to go tits up on route. First up is an 11/1 shot from the Marco Botti stable in the last and finally two from the boys in blue SECRET BRIEF and FRENCH NAVY.

We didn’t even get to the Bedford lodge without a drink as the landlord from a pickup point gave us three bottles of bubbles for the journey there and a promise of another three when we stop on the way back. Bedford lodge was relatively quiet for day two of the Craven, but I’m sure that won’t last with a bus load of hoods descending upon them. A £300 charged kitty and we are racing. The beers are freely flowing Mr Bailey is in attendance and all seems to be going to plan, all I need to do now is hopefully emulate yesterday.

We rock up a the course just before the first with four or five beers already swilling around our insides and I have my fingers firmly crossed.

We settle for the downstairs Cask bar no bets for the majority of us in the first but our first bet is ARGUS ew in the second at 9/1, I’m amazed as the monies really come for this Ralph Becket newcomer and he finally goes off 3/1 joint favourite. He does flatter to deceive at one point but just finished out of the places and after the race I’m told the ground was on the quick side for him. The lack of monies told the story on SECRET BRIEF as he is a big drifter and trails in last. My last hope of street cred is now firmly placed on FRENCH NAVY and thankfully he doesn’t let me down, although I did get a few pulpertations as the gaps didn’t immediately come, but as soon as he saw daylight he flew and won with a bit in hand, oi oi a nice winner and I haven’t got to walk home.

We have planned to stop at the Kentford Cock for a steak on the way home and as Ian sleeps at the head of the table Paul Cabbage eats his steak and he awakes to just a piece of fat lol, after this things became a shade cloudy.

Friday 17th. God where am I, I don’t recognize anything, the note pad beside my bed says The Scole Inn, what the F##k am I doing here, alone I hasten to add, anyway no harm seems to be done as the receptionist calls me a cab home. I must say things are a shade frosty, think I will have to pop back to Newmarket for a livener.

I’m in no state to go to Newbury today, but I will be heading there tomorrow.

Back next Saturday.

Andy Bell’s Racing Diary – Flat and PROFITS here we come.

April 4, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Sunday 29th. Lincoln day was very busy and also very blustery at Doncaster yesterday and our anti-post bet MOORHARIB ew at 20-1 if ridden a shade more prominently during the race would of finished much closer even allowing for him running very green in the last half of a furlong. He did finish third getting our ew monies and making a nice profit.

The Donny girls were all out in force and there was no fear of their skirts being blown up in the gusts because most of them were not long enough. It was bitterly cold and I am always amazed at the hardiness of these girls as the outfits they had squeezed themselves into wouldn’t of looked out of place in the Cheltenham strip club last week.

Simon and I were drifting from the paddock to the small Dessy bar where there was a rowdy hen party taking place, it was ok until the first bottle of bubbly was smashed on the floor and the Sid Vicious lookalike aunty marked our card in no uncertain terms, we thought it was time to move on.

I had to smile at the Leeches Facebook page who had been bumming our tips said that half of their tipsters were having the day off, hehehe as if on the first day of the flat and Lincoln day, they forgot to mention that our tips had been blocked from them. I smiled even more later as they said they had endured their first losing day since launch, which was only two days earlier, not easy picking them yourselves is it lol lol.

We only had the one winner Sunday the Richard Hannon trained WINDSHEAR who after his good fourth in the ledger last year I thought the 7/4 on offer was a more than far price. We also had a maximum bet on THE LATE service on DANCE FOR FIRE who I was told has been catching the proverbial pigeons on the gallops at home.

Unfortunately the weather was much the same as yesterday blustery and rainy, but once again that didn’t stop the Doncaster fashion gurus from donning their finest and tightest outfits.

I’m still not sure how DANCE FOR FIRE got beat by the 16/1 rag of the field and they both pulled ten lengths clear of the third and we got done a nose. Very disappointing but once again my LATE SERVICE has had a really good winning month making over forty points profit and keeping our heads above water, thankfully most of my clients are in both services, so with ANDY BELL’s clients hovering around the levelish mark for the month its keeping us going.

I have a nightmare journey home on the rattler, which will take me a fully six hours I could be half way to America, crazy isn’t it.

Monday 30th. A quiet day catching up after my three day jaunt, which is never a bad thing. Not a great days racing and we don’t trouble the scorers.

Tuesday 31st. Last day of the month and my LATE SERVICE has had a good one making over 40 points profit and my Cheltenham special made over 50 points profit, but unfortunately my main ANDY BELLs service has had another poor month, although it did finish levelish. I have no fears as we will have another great flat season and WILL make loads of profit again this year.

I’m heading up the A14 today towards Huntingdon with a view to backing MONDU CANE, which I also advise and I think the 11/10 should be snapped up. Also the Brian Ellison SAMTU is really well fancied and the 11/4 will soon also come under pressure.

The weather here is awful and once again I have huge gusts of wind to contend with, I suppose it’s worse for the little fellows jumping 4 foot fences and traveling at 30 miles an hour.

Once again AP is the main attraction as his little line of autograph hunters trail behind him like ants, but I didn’t see him refuse one all day, not even my requests to sign his winner and last ride in my Cheltenham programs.

MONDU CANE gets our day off to a good start with the minimum of fuss at a very well backed 8/15 making our 11/10 look huge. Turning for home I’m thinking the well backed SAMTU 11/4 into 6/4 has the race won, but is just ran out of things in the final furlong.

Wednesday 1st. First day of the month and we have the Craven meeting in two weeks at HQ and I am going to put up my anti-post bet for the 1000 Guineas in the next couple of days which is trading at 25/1 at the moment.
My first bet of the day and a new month is a maximum, but we will have to wait right until last knockings as he runs in the 8-45 at Kempton and it’s BALTIC PRINCE who has been smartly placed by Tony Carroll as he gets into tonight’s race without a penalty after his last win and he has Tom on board who is a more than capable 7lb claimer and the 15/8 looks a good price, which I take and suggest likewise as I know he will be backed.

Marco Botti had a big string out this morning, I suppose he is giving them their last prep gallop before going to Lingfield for the big good Friday and Saturday meeting.

BALTIC PRINCE was very well backed into 11/8 as I suggested he would be and young Tom had him perfectly placed to kick for home two out and won really nicely to give us the perfect winning start to the month.

Lets hope we can have a really good winning month and get rocking and rolling again.

Thursday 2nd. 5am and I’m leaving for the gallops at Newmarket again and I want to watch one lot in particular and see if he is ready for next week, if he does what I’m told he should we have a maximum bet on the horizon.

We watched the boy do a scintillating piece of work as his trainer had fully expected and all roads now lead to the Greedy 1s pockets next week. We have breakfast in the Whitelion and I am told that the Mark Johnson trained TIZLOVE REGARDLESS is expected to go very well today under a front running ride from Joe Fanning, well thats the plan anyway. I email him out and suggest taking the 5/2. Finally Steve has had the nod from the good Doctor about BOMBADERO who has been jumping and working really well at home, so I also suggest my clients back him win only and take the 13/8 on offer.

Right a quick shower and spruce up as a play day has been planned with the boys in town.

I have a nice few quid in cash on me today so I get Tony The Machine to pop across the road to Joe Corals and top me up with another £200 on TIZLOVE REGARDLESS a small forecast and an ew bet all  in the same race. I am very happy and amazed that he has got me 7/2. Paul Cabbage and myself watch it on my iPad in Weatherspoons as I don’t want to bring any needless attention to myself and the possible connection to the bet that The Machine had just placed. Joe Fanning does exactly what we were told he would and jumps out in front and leads all the way to our louder than exceptable cheers, well in a couple of diners eyes anyway. Tony returns full of smiles and more importantly good old Joe’s folding and a nice bottle of bubbly is promptly ordered. Just as we are halve way down the bottle it’s time to reinvest in the good Doctors BOMBADERO. This time Paul Cabbage trots across the road with £300 of my money, £100 of The Machines and £200 of his own and returns smiling as he has told most of Corals and with another amazing price of 2/1, as when I put him out the best on offer was 13/8. This time as the green colours loom up on the inside at the last and jumps to the front the last thing on our minds are the snotty diners as we cheer him all the way to the line and well past. The Machine is ordering the bubbles even before Cabbage returns and before the manager can complain about the joyous scenes he has just witnessed.

As always Cabbage the showman returns with a monster wad and places it in the middle of the table for all to see. We have our respectable weigh ins and the scene is set for a messy one. It’s not helped by three grateful punters showing their gratitude over the counter for us.

The taxi was hailed about 7-30, I think it was we jumped before we were pushed to be honest, but no harm done apart from a box of mayonnaise sachets leaving with us lol.

Friday 3rd. I wake up this morning after hitting two more winners yesterday, hanging like the proverbial one but at the top of the Betfan tree, I know it’s early doors, but it’s still nice to get off to a flyer. The old arris and new Delhi are telling me my Indian was far to hot last night, although I have no recollection of eating one.

It looks like Good Friday racing is here to stay and once again Lingfield has a fantastic card for us to enjoy today. I was told Wednesday that the Richard Hannon trained LEXINGTON TIMES had really strengthened up over the winter and is fully expected to get todays mile trip and win on route to the Guineas.

Also on today’s email I advise backing LEXINGTON TIMES, PRETEND and TRYSTER and playing them in doubles as well.

For once after racing I shall be cheering the scum on, Ipswich, who could do us, Norwich a right favor if they can beat Bournemouth live on Sky TV this evening, obviously Norwich have to go to Brighton and win early doors, but I think they’re a good bet to win down there.

Great start to the day as PRETEND shows his true class and can be called the winner turning for home and as soon as Buick gets him to change his feet he wins going away setting us up for a super day in the process.

LEXINGTON TIMES runs a bit below par because he is beaten by FOUR SEASONS who he beat into fourth last time, I think it was a case of Adam Kirby nicking the race, the old adage chance the jockey change the result.

Wow how good is TRYSTER off a mark of 112, it’s the best aw performance I can remember seeing, he had no right to win from where he was placed coming off the bend and his fantastic run gives us a nice double with PRETEND and another winning day making it three on the trot.

Andy Bell Racing

February 7, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Bellie Boy is smiling again “He’s Back.”

Saturday 31st. Friday nights two bets PENSAX LAD 4/1 and MONSIEUR CHEVALIER 13/8 both duly obliged and dare I say it the drought and the constant hard luck stories may be a thing of the past.

A very nice profit on both services yesterday and now it’s the dreaded Saturdays racing.

Today I have three to put up on my ANDY BELLs service and let’s hope we can continue where we left off last night and yesterday. Today I like the look of BRISTOL DE MAI who puts his Cheltenham credentials on show, a big priced LIL ROCKERFELLER at 14/1 to nick us a place in the first and finally and by no means least MONBEG THEATRE who at 11/2 must be the ew bet of the year at the very least.

I am not racing today and have a really busy week away ahead of me so there’s only one thing for it a few bevys. As it’s been a poor month it’s got to be Weatherspoon’s for me today lol, I meet Paul and Tony is conspicuous by his absence, so it’s the two of us, never mind we can drink and make enough noise for three.

The noise level does just rise above a normal chatter as jumping two out our 14/1 ew shot LIL ROCKERFELLER comes with a very strong run to challenge the very short priced favourite, unfortunately he doesn’t jump the last well and finishes third. BRISTOL DE MAI doesn’t run any sort of race and maybe his Cheltenham entries need looking at again. A long wait until the last now when we have our MONBEG THEATRE running. We move up a notch and hit the top shelf well Paul does I’m on my head messing spritzers. We do have a giggle tho as most modern pubs nowadays the gents loos are now up stairs and the disabled are obviously down and how many of us can’t be bothered to walk the flights after a few beers and sneak into the disabled, which in here is at the end of the bar and in full view, but fortunately I haven’t encountered an elderly lady merrily sitting on the Thomas with her Marks and Spencer’s around her ankles with a look of pure fright on her face as today’s very embarrassed punter did. Far from being a meek little old lady when she did disembark she hit her stick on the counter and demanded to see her imposter luckily he was not present.

Three out how far is MONBEG THEATRE going to win by until he clouts the second last, even after that he is still going to win, but when he does the same at the last our fate is sealed and we are just beaten on the run in and well clear of the third. How annoying is that an 11/2 winner wouldn’t of rescued our month but would of helped a great deal.

Sunday 1st. I was disappointed that MONBEG THEATRE fluffed his lines at the last two fences which cost him the race, us a valuable winner and 15 points as he just got caught on the run in and finished a clear second at 11/2. I am glad to have got an awful January out of the way and now be able to totally focus on a new month. I am hoping that we have got a maximum bet coming through today on our favored Hunter Chase circuit to kick our month off.

My Main Newmarket connection has told me to ignore the fact that WANTING is carrying the second colours for the boys in blue today as his work at home has been sparkling and he is the one to be on, so I email this information out to my ANDY BELLs clients, suggesting we take the 6/4 and also putting him in a first race double with the JP owned QUANTITATIVEEASING at 8/11 across the water.

In the last half of an hour the mobile hasn’t stopped ringing and once again we fancy getting Nicky Hendersons favourite BIRCH HILL beaten, as we have the last twice, today with SHANROE SANDS who on point form has the beating of him, at 10/3 he is our second bet of the day. Steve has also delivered the information I have most been waiting for, our maximum bet on the Hunter Chaser at Mussleburgh. He runs in the penultimate race and is trading at 15/8, CURRENT EVENT won a point last time in a sparkling time and is very well fancied to follow up today. As this is such a strong maximum bet I personally punt him with Smudger and Tom and also text him out to all my private odds2 clients to help us get all our monies on.

Not content with just a single on CURRENT EVENT as he is not to be missed I advise my clients to put him in an ew double with SHANROE SANDS.

No going out today as we are having my Father, Pauline and my daughter Georgia and her new boyfriend to be vetted over for a Sunday Roast tea.

Bets done vegetables prepped and Yorkshire pudding mix in the fridge, that’s not cooking it by the way for you non Jamie’s it’s resting, I pop a cheap bubbly and settle down to watch the days racing. A perfect start as Adam Kirby brings WANTING swinging round the top bend looking all over the winner and he does just that and wins with his head in chest and sets up a nice opening day double. For an odds on favourite to my eye QUANTITATIVEEEASING is never travelling and when he is crowded out three out he never picks up again and scuppers our double.

BIRCH HILL the early morning favourite is drifting, maybe others have seen what I have, during the race he never looks a danger at all and SHANROE SANDS jumps the last and wins going away without BIRCH HILL hitting the frame again. SHANROE SANDS gives us our second winner of the day and also sets us up for another nice double, this time with our maximum bet of the day CURRENT EVENT.

Bryony always has CURRENT EVENT nicely placed and jumping the last she smoothly takes it up and wins at a super sp of 5/2, giving us our third winner on the day and in the process landing us a maximum bet and a very nice double.

Well that’s the perfect start to the month with over 30 points profit, thank goodness, I expect my knockers will go back to sleep for a while now and wait for the next wobble, maybe an odd well done but I’m not holding my breath hehehe!!

As the title suggests lets hope we have firmly put January behind us as we have made a spanking start to February and lets really kick on and stamp our authority and class back on the Greedy 1’s again.

Monday 2nd. Oi oi top of tree again with 35 points profit, about time again as it’s been a bit of a drought. Let’s hope the leavers will see the light again and rejoin the LONGTERM winning team.

I have also changed the concept of my LATE BETTING service as I am sick of trying to please everyone ultimately at my detriment, so as I have said on today’s email from now on it’s going to be QUALITY instead of QUANTITY, so if you’re looking for a bet everyday I’m afraid it’s on your bikes time and if you want a very selective service come join us NOW.

I am unable to find anything worth betting on any of our services today.

Tuesday 3rd. Heading up to snowy Southwell today, as all the jump racing is cancelled and I think that we will lose a few more meetings before this cold snap has finished.

No driver today so I have to catch the rattler to Newark and then taxi to the course a hotel in Southwell for tonight another taxi and train up to York in the morning, so I need a winner or two to pay the X’s.

Scott Dixon has his yard at Southwell and does a lot of his galloping around the track which is a major bonus and his MINISTER OF FUN did a very good piece of work around here at the end of last week and at 9/2 he is the first of my emails. John Best has the favourite in the third at Kempton today, but the Charlie Mcbride trained VIRTUAL REALITY was very well fancied and backed accordingly last time, only to get bogged down in the very deep sand at Chelmsford, with Jamie Spencer aboard today instead of last times apprentice I also suggest we take the 13/8 on this second favourite on my ANDY BELLs final email of the day.

I have just arrived at the Course and set my iPad up in the main bar which is on the first floor and very importantly today behind glass and warm, when I get the go ahead on two runners which I had inquired about this morning and decide to put them on the LATE SERVICE.

My LATE BETTING SERVICE hasn’t had a bet yet this month and as I emailed out to my clients and said yesterday we are having a change of tack, just to reiterate I am now NOT prepared to please the masses with a bet most days AS from now on it’s going to be QUALITY over QUANTITY and today I think I have two proper quality bets, HABESHIA  is trading at 10/3 and is very well fancied and is going to be very well punted under the steering of Spencer, also as I say on the same email TOTAL DEMOLITION’s price of 5/1 is incredible value as on my tissues he is favourite, so I suggest backing him ew.

As you would expect on a very cold February Tuesday the crowd is very sparse and how a reliable and true SP can be returned that hasn’t been manufactured by the bookmakers on course runners is difficult to envisage.

MINISTER OF FUN is very well backed, but unfortunately nobody told him as he was very awkward at the stalls and his chance and our money was gone within yards, not a good start. Next for the LATE SERVICE our luck doesn’t change as HABESHIA comes on the outside but tamely fades away. Things need to pick up and quickly or the hotel will quickly become the local YMCA and I haven’t even brought my leather trousers here today.

VIRTUAL REALITY quickly ensures I can at least upgrade my stay to a B&B as the information was spot on as he wins very nicely and gives my ANDY BELL’s clients another winning day. As a London bus never one at a time and TOTAL DEMOLITION makes my tissue price of 2/1 look more in line than the 5/1 we took as he wins very cosily and cheekily and gives my LATE clients the perfect start to the month and ensures I’m again thankfully residing in my hotel.

A good days work and I have personally won a nice few quid and both my services have also nicely prospered.

From my stay last year in Southwell when with Simon Holden I can still remember the lively bar which is my second port of call after dumping my stuff and sure enough it’s buzzing again. With no Simon Holden to scare all the totty off with his gary attire this time I can relax. I’m not having a heavy one, so I’m no threat Simon hehehe I don’t mean a woman, I mean a lot of drink because I have a very busy and important day ahead of me tomorrow.

Wednesday 4th. Last night came and went without any dramas a nice Chinese, a few bottles of tiger in there and back to the hotel, where I had a couple in the bar and up to my room.

I have two that I have backed today and have emailed out. FALCONIZE who had a nice quiet introduction at Leicester when fourth and he looks a good bet ew at 9/2, also another ew bet WALK LIKE A GIANT who has only had the one run for Michael Appleby and is said to have improved immensely since.

I arrive in York at 1.25pm meet Mr Holden who is for once on time and we head to meet Steve my publisher.

I have finished all my form on the train and get confirmation that WENTWORTH FALLS has been going well at home and the 10/3 is overpriced as I had suggested. As time has crept on I advise the LATE SERVICE to back him at the 10/3 also ironically I have had a very good mark for the Newmarket raider from the David Elsworth stable MERDON CASTLE who annoyingly runs in the same race, not everybody’s cup of tea two in the same race, but I don’t care as long as I make a profit so I also put him up as an ew bet at 9/2.

With all the work done a quick couple of pints to settle the nerves and head to the filming offices. With the three interviews filmed and two possible promotors seen it’s job done.

First thing I do is to check the results as I hate not seeing the races live, although I will watch them later it’s never the same, WALK LIKE A GIANT has beaten the favourite but has to settle for second as he is beaten by 1/2 a length at a well backed 11/4 so we return a small profit with our 9/2. I can see that the LATE SERVICE has had a nice winner as MERDON CASTLE has got up bang on the line giving us a nice 9/2 winner with WENTWORTH FALLS not troubling the judges at a very well backed 5/4.

Both service have had another winning day, all be it my ANDY BELLs clients a very small one, but the LATE has had a very nice one.

A quick beer on route to the hotel before a splash and change and see what joys York have in hold for us tonight. Simon is wanting to watch the Liverpool/Bolton game, so lets hope we can find a bar with it on as going home is not an option with a winning Bellie Boy in town.

Simon soon forgets about the football as it’s students night and I’m sure some of the girls are masquerading as students because they have to be over thirty if a day, I know us older generation always say the girls didn’t look like that in our day, but they certainly do now and leave very little to the imagination. I promise it was only the fact that the bottles of Heineken were a pound each that kept us in there until far to late.

Thursday 5th. It was fun last night but eventually although you can look at the menu when your on a diet one does tend to sicken of it after a while, so we called it a day relatively early.

Before leaving York this morning and heading to Huntingdon, I have a huge word for the Daniel Kubler trained monster TRIMOULET, although we have missed the bigger earlier prices on this occasion I don’t mind taking the 5/4 as I’m told he will win. How quickly things can change, as of yet we haven’t had a losing day this month on either of my services ANDY BELL or the LATE SERVICE and lets hope a short priced 5/4 selection doesn’t change things.

I don’t mind the trains now that I have my internet gadget which enables me to get wifi 99% of the time. I have lots of views and information which need turning into bets and hopefully money later today.

Young Lizzy rides in the very first apprentice race and if PINKEYS PRINCEs jumping holds up she should get a place at least.

Only a ten minute wait at Peterborough and Huntingdon is only a 17 minute trip down the line. I arrive in plenty of time and just as I do I get the nod on FORTHEFUNOFIT who to me looked well in, but with confirmation I can back him myself and put him out on the LATE SERVICE with more confidence, I think that once again the Greedy 1’s have been more than generous with their price of 15/8 so I suggest snapping it up, finally to the sunshine for my last advice and bet of the day LOCAL TIME at Meydan who is trading at 7/4 and the extra furlong today should play into his hands and he is fully expected to frank the form with the second favourite.

My good friend The Colonel is at Huntingdon and over a coffee he explains that he is enjoying his tipping with us at Betfan, hopefully he can keep turning in the profits for his clients.

PINKEYS PROFITS is going well until she hits three out and after that it’s good night nurse as it knocks the stuffing out of her. I can’t believe the price of FORTHEFUNOFIT on course and I have a very uncommon cash bet on the rails at 9/4, it is a shade concerning when a big betting stable and an even bigger betting owners horse drifts, so I do check to make sure he still has four legs as I have him tissued up at 5/4ish. Whether my views are blinkered I don’t know but I can call him the winner three out and he duly obliges nice and easily and is returned at a nice 2/1. First bet in for the LATE SERVICE.

Next it’s to the sunnier climes of Meydan and if I thought FORTHEFUNOFIT had won easily it was nothing compared to how LOCAL TIME bolted in and picked up the massive prize.

Nothing else to hold me so I catch the train home. Once again the LATE SERVICE have had a blinder with two bets and two winners and keep their winning month rolling. I just make it home in time to watch our final bet of the day TRIMOULET run at Wolverhampton. He not only looks like a monster he runs like one and wins with consummate ease and has at least another win in him before the handicapper finally catches up.

Friday 6th. With ANDY BELL’s clients enduring their first losing day of the month, with only one winner yesterday, although we are hitting 50% winners and sitting second, my LATE SERVICE marches on with two bets and two winners and in the process making a very nice profit and moves us up the table into 5th with 23 points profit so far and we are hitting an amazing 66% strike rate and a brilliant 118% return on investment.

My morning is being held up as I am trashed to put loads of work into the Kempton and Bangor cards for fear of cancellations.

We finally get the go ahead with the Kempton card, so I email out MIDNIGHT COWBOY at 7/1 to take on the very cheaply bought Nicky Henderson 1/2 shot and another ew bet WELL REGARDED at 13/2.

Finally at 11-15am Bangor gets the go ahead, although I already know what our Hunter Chaser bet is going to be, I am going to wait and see how sticky and holding the ground is going to be before I bet or release him to my members.

I advise my LATE SERVICE to back MENDIP EXPRESS who is taking on a dodgy stayer at even money and also tell the boys and girls that if our bet goes at Bangor I will re-advise later after a couple of races.

As it almost certain Newbury is on tomorrow so I have an early look at the races, it will be nice to see one of our last years Cheltenham winners out again SIRE DE GRUGY in the grade 2 chase although he will almost certainly be odds on with the much improved MR MOLE looking to be his biggest danger. MILAN BOUND at 7/2 looks to have a great chance in the 3 miler as he was a good 2nd when John Jo’s horses were woefully out of form and now the stable is flying again.

Back onto today although the ground is very holding we decide to go with SIRO DEMUR ew in the Hunters and I advise taking the 16/1 on offer, as we know the good Doctors horse NEVEROWNUP will make the pace and that will hopefully play into our hands.

Not our best day at the office as things didn’t quite fall for us as we hit both the posts and the cross bar. As all good ew bets WELL REGARDED at 13/2 finishes fourth and MENDIP EXPRESS at evens finishes second, MIDNIGHT COWBOY at 7/1 finishes “yes” second and you’re already guessed it SIRO DEMUR at 16/1 gets done on the line by a 66/1 rag and finishes fourth.

Just not our day, with two seconds and two fourths with three of these being proper working mans prices, but I’m not perturbed by this whatsoever as we have hit the ground running this month and I feel bang in form again so roll on next week.

Continuous effort – not strength or intelligence – is the key to unlocking MY potential. – Winston Churchill

That was thankfully a better week and more of what we have become accustomed to and I hope we can move onwards and upwards now.

NEVER,NEVER,NEVER get caught please.

Back next Saturday.

Andy Bell’s Racing Diary

December 6, 2014 By admin Leave a Comment

Another Successful Month Completed.
Sunday 30th. I think yesterday’s special went well, although I didn’t make loads of points profit, I did manage to hit three winners 11/8, 7/1 and 2/1 and also two seconds on what looked the most difficult days punting of the three day festival. The Betfan special was also very successful making well over 30 points profit on the three days. Personally I think that Betfan should stick to proven performers on these specials as they often seem to be given to tipsters as a buck me up or a sweetener, which ultimately isn’t any good to man or beast and certainly not the paying public.

It was a shame about our THE DRUIDS NEPHEW as he loomed up on the outside looking very dangerous, but his jumping let him down and the Newbury fences are not at all forgiving and he faded just out of the places, our other ew bet FINGALS BAY poor performance was due to bleeding.

Newcastle was packed as it should be on their biggest jumps day of the year, with SIGN OF VICTORY out I have nothing to back up here and my full attention is firmly at Newbury. IRVINE wins the big one as he was entitled to, but in a slow time. It’s out of here before the last and back to the hotel, quick wash and spruce up and to the pub next door for a pint or three and some scran.

Sunday morning. Once again my train is late and can you believe I am chucked out, well asked to leave the waiting room/coffee room for not purchasing anything. What makes it worse is it’s a very camp lisping little man, who’s excuse is some crap about people paying vat on drinks, there was only three of us in there. On the way out I gave him a touch of Uncle Buck and flicked a 10p onto his counter and told him to get into town and have that wart gnawed off his face.

Sitting outside I spot four train spotters just on the opposite side and they are obviously waiting for something rare or important because they are becoming more and more animated and looking at their books and talking into their dicta phones, incidentally have you ever used a dicta phone, personally I use my fingers, unfortunately we have to move platforms so I miss this great event. I am resigned to the fact of missing my connection again, but luckily today they announce they have had the foresight or common sense to hold the train at Peterborough as we are running 8 minutes late, again, and were due to miss our connection by two minutes.

I have emailed out two Ruby rides on my ANDY BELL service today, I’m not trying to emulate last Sundays feat as it will be virtually impossible. KALKIR in the first at 11/10 and the talking horse, which is already favourite for the Supreme Novices ALLEZ COLOMBIERES at even money.

Sure enough they did hold our connection train so I can call my father for him to pick me up from Stowmarket station at 1-14pm.

Ruby is super confident on KALKIR and wins by eight lengths going away. First one up in our Sunday double.

ALLEZ COLOMBIERES runs in the next and is our even money shot and also the second leg of our double, unfortunately he was cruelly pulled up before the third with a possible pulled ligament, but to me it looks worse and more like a stress fracture. So no big win today, not even a small one to finish off another very profitable month.

I am going straight to my Fathers, from the station, as he has successfully clocked up another year and we are all descending on them to help him celebrate and hopefully help him empty his drinks cabinet, not that he needs much help.

Monday 1st. My fathers party went very well and can you believe I was designated driving duties as I had been away for three days, which I think is fair enough, although I did pout at the time.

Another month successfully navigated with my Andy Bell clients finishing November with over 75 points profit and the LATE SERVICE finishing with just under 50 points profit, which I am very happy with indeed.

Very unfortunately we will never know or find out how good ALLEZ COLOMBIERES was because even Ruby’s quick thinking when pulling him up yesterday was unable to save him as he had to be put down after breaking a bone in his pelvis.

I am not to excited about today’s racing, although I fancy getting Gary Moores Favourite beaten in the first, so I opt to back TINGOS IN THE TALE ew at 13/2 and also email out the same information.

I am very happy to see that our anti post bet GREEN FLAG has now officially been entered for the Becher Chase and is trading at a best price of 12/1 making our 16/1 look tasty, as we know it will shorten come race day as four at the top of the market out of five always do.

We do in fact get Gary Moores favourite beaten as we expected, but unfortunately TINGOS couldn’t get us a place, so a small losing day.

Tuesday 2nd. I can’t believe for somebody that has got over 4000 winners I just can’t get him right. That’s the great AP, whenever I back him like today he loses and whenever I back against him he is at his best and strongest and wins.

As you can gather we had a losing day as AP was coming to win the race he fell two out.

Wednesday 3rd. We haven’t had a winner yet this month, I know it’s only the third but if you let these things go undetected they can very quickly mount up and all of a sudden you need two winning days to make up for what has been frittered away.

We are all over the shop today VIVACCIO at Ludlow who should win again today even allowing for his 10lb rise in the weights, so at 13/8 I back and email him out. Next I have been given the nod for one on the dreaded aw DONT BE from the very shrewd Sir Mark stable at 9/4 and finally SCRAFTON 3/1 at Catterick.

Quiet day today and can you believe I think we have found a sleeper at Aintree on Saturday in the Grand Sefton which is the last race. I just need to check out a couple of things and if these stack up I will put this 16/1 shot out tomorrow or Friday.

VIVACCIO gets our day of to the perfect start as Aidan Coleman always has him bang up there and wins easily going away. Things seem to be going really well as SCRAFTON is leading and than for some reason puts in an extra step and unseats three out. With our day laying in the balance we are now waiting on Sir Marks DONT BE and well worth it as he could be called the winner two out and gives us our second winner of the day.

That’s better Bellie Boy two nice winners out of three and a cracking 19 points profit made.

Thursday 4th. I’m on the 8-15am to York for a final meeting and signing with my ghost writer Steve, how exciting is this and than we are live next week. Get ordering your copies now a great read and a perfect Christmas present. I hear the Grumbling Don is putting in orders everywhere in an attempt to buy the stocks to save his blushes. Lord Howie has ordered one to put in the attic to keep the mice away, the GMT ordered one for his Granddaughter to teeth on and Eddie the Stat in hope he can learn something and put a service in profit and good old Simon, who I give so much grief to who he kindly wrote the introduction page without a gun to his head, Oh and I mustn’t forget my pimps the BETFAN Tower Boys, the two Simons as without them and their team it wouldn’t of happened.

Business seems very brisk today and I have no hesitation in backing and emailing out PAIN AU CHOCOLAT 10/11 and ROYAL PALIADIUM 6/4 up in a win double to my ANDY BELLs clients who kicked off their month yesterday with a really nice winning day of 20ish points.

The LATE SERVICE hasn’t had a bet for two days and I get two flagged up to me just before racing starts. RINGA BAY who is trading at 6/4 and PEARLS LEGEND ew at 4/1. It seems a day for doubles so I very unusually email suggesting a single win on RINGA BAY and an ew double on the pair.

First time I’ve seen the book and it looks fantastic, Steve my ghost writer is very proud and so he should be and Simon has read his introduction Page 14 times, bless him.

I think we were all unlucky on my ANDY BELLs service as PAIN AU CHOCOLAT carved his way through the field hit the front after the last and looked all over the winner until just getting caught on the line and to rub salt in the wound the second part of our double ROYAL PALIADIUM never sees another horse and absolutely bolts in.

Thankfully our LATE SERVICE were more fortunate well actually fortunate is not the word, more like astonishing as RINGA BAY is not even on our TV screens jumping the last and trading at 999/1 in running and flies up the hill and wins bang on the line. I bet there were a few lap tops laying in the front gardens as the in running players got their fingers burnt trying to nick their measly £5ers

ROYAL PALIDIUM runs a gallant race without ever really looking like the winner and finishes second giving us a small profit on our ew double. A winning day on our LATE SERVICE and a small losing one on ANDY BELL.

Friday 5th. Not a good day at the office, that’s for sure as we had losers right across the board and I really need to get my arse into gear and start banging these winners in, so we can all have a joyous festive period.

I do put up one to my members at 16/1 for the Grand Sefton tomorrow and coupled with GREEN FLAG at 16/1 it would be nice to see them both bolt in.

Saturday 6th. I’m off to Sandown today and will hopefully bump into Smudger and his crew as they are all congregating down there as well. At the time of writing I haven’t got any big views at Sandown my colours and monies are firmly at Aintree in the Becher Chase and the Grand Sefton, but it’s early days at the moment anything can happen between now and racing.

Free tip 1-30 Aintree GREEN FLAG ew 12/1 generally (already advised to members 16/1)

Well that’s it for another week, today is another day as long as we NEVER, NEVER, never give up and if caught take it graciously.

Back next Saturday.

Clearing up after the Storm…

Cheltenham Catch Up. After another good winning day yesterday, Wednesday, making another 20 points, but unfortunately not as good as the Dons, we sail on into day 3. I like the Paul Nichols trained WONDERFUL CHARM in the opener. The Pipe team have been going well so I put up TOP WOOD ew and also stick with the same Jockey trainer combination in the next with DYNASTE.

Ruby and ANNIE POWER gets the vote in the stayers, with THIRD INTENTION and finally and not by least CAUSE OF CAUSES in the finale.

Another spanking day, the sun is shinning and the birds are singing, The Rock Holden isn’t quite so jovial, although he is in total denial of having a steaming hangover, I know he has by the way his fried breakfast was pushed round the plate as if it was a roulette wheel. But I can’t fault him as he has banged in a 100+ point profit so far this month with his Stable Line Gold service.

The track is again heaving and we pitch up in the ISTABRAQ bar and settle for the day.

WONDERFUL CHARM runs like most of Nicholls has this week flat and poor and is never in contention. TOP WOOD runs like the proverbial drain and the day is off to a poor start. In my opinion, not only because all our money was on DYNASTE, but I think Tom Scu ‘s ride should certainly be up there with ride of the week. Just what the doctor ordered and we are up and running with a nice winner. THIRD INTENTION was the Tizzards father son combination who was properly smashed up in the betting and we had a great price only for him to hit three out, but we did nick a place in 5th. How unlucky are we not to finish the day with our 2nd winner, when CAUSE OF CAUSES is travelling like a dream and the winner, when him and Nina demolishes the last and finishes a very fast and a very unlucky second. Well, another winning day which I am proud of and even more so that’s three winning days on the trot and when you consider the task I’m very happy with that.

Last night it was much the same as the previous three, too much drink and not enough food.

Apparently, today, Friday, we are meant to be meeting one of our pimps, one of the top three has been granted a pass from Betfan Towers and is winging his way across to have a meet and a beer. Let’s hope big Si isn’t to scared to attend.

The only good bit of today was that Simon and his wife Bonnie did show and although the Betfan shares were tumbling at a fair rate of knots as we hit loser after loser, we did manage a laugh and a few wines.

Writing about today with the added advantage of hindsight is slightly easier, because in short it was an absolute massacre for all punters. When the winning trainers are in a state of shock, who are there for every moment of their horses preparation, what chance have we. Since Greedy Friday, which I have now named it, as the Greedy 1s creamed it and the smug bastards killed us all, I have spoken to many tipsters from the top to the bottom of the tree and got very much the same answer “unbelievable results.”

Well hands up, well done Grumbling you beat me fair and square and between us we hit about 13/14 winning bets on the week, which on hindsight is an amazing 50%ish and made all the special sign ups a cracking 60ish point profit on the four days, at £20 a point that’s £1,200 for opening an email. How fickle are a few people??

Unbelievably because Friday was crap and a washout, we had people moaning, I know why, I bet the moaners had spunked our profits on other selections and didn’t have the brilliant 130 point profit bank we had amassed going into Friday, as I said on my Facebook page, a quote from the greatest jockey, John Francome “you would have to dig an awfully big hole to earn that.”

I will hopefully be given the chance to take the Grumbling on again as I was happy with my three winning days to his one.

I am now at Cheltenham station with a six hour car and train journey home and my hangover from hell isn’t helping the cause. As you read in the Grumblings column last Sunday we did all meet and had a sing song until very late and things did get out of hand, although I must say, I didn’t realise he was quite so drunk, as in his column he seemed to have got the egg throwing the wrong way round, I am sure he was the target with Penny even copping the odd sneaky head shot in, well let’s leave it there.

In my pitiful Saturday column I put up SONGSMITH EW as my free tip and I am told by my very good friend Grandad Steve that OSCAR HOOF is the good thing of the day. As I am on the Birmingham new street to Peterborough rattler with no wifi and obviously without odds checker, I commit the cardinal sin and copy the racing posts price of 7/2 and post this as a bet. As I get to Peterborough and get wifi my inbox is full, as most people have smashed up every bookmakers insisting on the 7/2 on what is a 7/4 at best, sorry all, but at least he bolts up as expected and also our free tip SONGSMITH is only just beaten, but nicks us a place at 9/1.

Back to the norm yesterday again with a nice winning day, although I must apologise to my late betting clients as at the moment I can’t tip rubbish and could stop a train. A couple I feel sorry for especially as they joined after the amazing 11winners on the trot and have had to endure the darker side. I have no worries personally, as I know the strength of my network and it will turn again. Don’t forget I have not found the holy grail, I am just more fortunate through hard work than most others to have such great trustworthy contacts to back my form and tissues.

Monday 17th. I feel absolutely awful today full of cold and a throat full of razor blades. Five hard days at Cheltenham has to take the brunt of the blame as does Manchurian Pete, who was coughing and spluttering all week. It’s a catch up couple of days and many things need to be done as it’s now less than a month before the Craven meeting at Newmarket. We have had a great jumps year and Steve has played a big part in that, thank you, but we come into our own on the flat, with a plethora of contacts and also getting on the gallops watching for myself. Exciting times coming.

Tuesday 18th. An exciting day promises as I have an early call saying that if the ground walks ok we will be in the process of having a very large bet today, but I will not be told either way until 12ish. We need it after two losers yesterday. So I email all my clients this information and we all sit tight.

As promised the call comes through bang on 12 telling me to get on ASKAMORE DARSI of McCains at 9/4. I back this with B365 and also get two others to get what they can on it for me. The emails are all done, so let’s hope he does the business for us.

I hear that we will have a national hunt flat race bet tomorrow, so hopefully if we cop today we can pile in again tomorrow.

ASKAMORE DARSI puts in a good round of jumping and wins a shade costly at an absolutely stunning 7/2 sp. Best odds guaranteed comes up trumps again, unfortunately I only get best odds on two out of my three bets, but no great concerns.

A cracking 28 point profit day and that will help scoot us back up the table and into eyesight again.

Wednesday 19th. We sneak up into fifth on the table and we have already been advised we have a really good bet today at Warwick, which is going to be well punted. I make the relevant calls and I am told it’s all systems go and we must take the 3/1 which is on show with various greedy 1s on KINGS TEMPEST in the last. During the course of the morning I can see the price drying up on KINGS TEMPEST and I am forecasting this will end up a short priced favourite.

Oh dear Lord Howie have you no shame, you know it’s your fault our suits are so old, as The Rock and I bought them specially for your retirement party, which was scheduled 10 years ago.

Young Sam knew exactly what he had under him as he gave KINGS TEMPEST a very confident hold up ride and then kicking for home in the final furlong and winning very nicely. We pop another 12 points in the locker and secure another nice winning day.

Thursday 20th. Another really nice winner yesterday and I am very happy to say that gives us 40 points profit in the last two days and firmly sits us in fourth. The work is far from finished yet as I want to see if I can hit another 100+ point profit month.

I am quite excited when SHE RANKS ME comes through this morning as it came from the same source as Wednesdays McCains 7/2 winner. Although today this is only even money I still decide to back and email this out.

Saturday could be a huge day for us as I already know we have at least one almost maximum bet and another possible.

I think even without SHE RANKS ME being impeded jumping the last she had already jumped her chances away by constantly jumping out to the left. A shame as we were building very nicely this week.

Friday 21st. Mr Holden’s Betfan TV was a bit late being filmed this morning as the 6am drifted into 7am and if you look very closely you will see his J B Whiskey eyes. It was such a shame as we did it from Malta’s, Gnenja bay yesterday and the film looked amazing with the sea as the back set, the only problem was the iPad picked up the very slightest breeze and turned it into a raging wind tunnel effect on film. I also filmed last weeks in Cheltenham with an 8/1 winner on the horses and a 6/4 winner on the football, so this weeks has got to go some to match that, but if you fancy a look go to betfan.com/TV

IFYOUSAYSO runs in the 3.45n today and I am told to back it and not worry about the longer than ideal absence as they have been waiting for the correct ground. From what I was told I am going to have a swing at this today and at 3/1 I advise all my clients via email to do likewise.

PRECARIOUSLY GOOD was well backed and went off odds on last time and the change in surface and the eye catching booking of Hughsey is supposed to have the desired effect. I suggest we take the 11/4 on offer.

We have a big day at Lingfield tomorrow as it’s winter derby trials and I think the favourite GRANDEUR will take all the beating after his last months smooth win, when we backed him there.

PRECARIOUSLY GOOD is awful and trots in last, the report was he didn’t go on the surface, I wish they had the foresight to try him on it at home, but I suppose that’s too easy.

I really thought we had banked another winner as IFYOUSAYSO lead and jumped really well, only to be caught on the run in and beaten a neck after an agonising 3miles.

A losing day which was a neck away from being another great winning one, but tomorrow’s another day.

Saturday 22nd. A great days racing today from all parts of the country. I am also involved in the battle of the tipsters, so a very busy day ahead of me.

Today’s FREE TIP:

2.55 Newbury – Run Ructions Run – 6/1 (Betvictor) – Each Way Bet

Have a great days punting and I hope it’s very profitable for all of us.

Until next week be good.

Back next Saturday.

Andy Bell’s Racing Diary… THE BIG UN

March 15, 2014 By admin Leave a Comment

Sunday 9th. What a disaster yesterday was, I think with all my selections I only beat about 4 horses all day, so I don’t think we will dwell and quickly move on.

I thought I had seen and moved enough crap this morning when I finished cleaning our chicken shed out, but far from it there was way more in the Grumblings column this morning.

We are taking the Hunter Chase route today and backing ROB CONTI and GOLAN WAY both singularly and in a win double.

I haven’t got much planned today, no going out for Sunday lunch and wine as this coming week my digestive system is going to be abused with a poor diet and a great intake of alcohol.

Monday 10th. All today’s roads lead to Cheltenham or rather tracks as I am catching 10.24 train and arriving at 3-01. I have arranged to meet “The Rock Holden” in the coffee shop opposite the station and then on to our flat, where we are staying for the week. Manchester Pete is arriving at tea time and the weeks crew is then complete.

As I have only a few finishing touches to complete tomorrows cards, we decide to pop into town for a swifty. We have our first festival drink in the Montpelier wine bar, which for a Monday night is packed, so we move onto O Neill’s just across the road and this is heaving. After two pints of the Black Nectar we wander down the street to more tranquil surroundings and relax with a nice bottle of white wine and a red in the Queens Hotel.

Tuesday 11th. The form is done all my selections are sent and the moment of the first race roar we have all been waiting for is very nearly upon us. As I receive confirmation of the competitions selections, I am quietly confident of kicking The Dons arse today, as I can’t see where he is coming from on three of his.

GAMBLING DON SELECTIONS

1.30 – Valseur Lido – 2.5pts Each Way – 20/1 Skybet (4 places 1/4 odds)
2.05 – Dodging Bullets – 5pt Win – 6/1 BetVictor
2.40 – The Package – 2.5pts Each Way – 25/1 StanJames (5 places 1/4 odds)
3.20 – My Tent Or Yours – 5pt Win – 7/2 BetVictor
4.00 – Cockney Sparrow – 2.5pts Each Way – 10/1 BetVictor (3 places 1/4 odds)
4.40 – Foxrock – 5pt Win – 5/1 BetVictor
5.15 – King Vuvuzela – 2.5pts Each Way – 22/1 SkyBet (4 places 1/4 odds)

ANDY BELL SELECTIONS

1-30 – Gilgamboa – 2.5pts Each Way – 9/1 WHill (5 places 1/4 odds)
2-05 – Trifolium – 2.5pts Each Way – 4/1 Bet365 (3 places 1/4 odds)
2-40 – Wrong Turn – 2.5pts Each Way – 14/1 Bet365 (5 places 1/4 odds)
3-20 – Jezki – 2.5pts Each Way – 9/1 BetVictor (3 places 1/4 odds)
4-00 – Quevega – 5pt Win – 10/11 Coral
4-40 – Shotgun Paddy – 2.5pts Each Way – 11/2 StanJames (3 places 1/4 odds)
5-15 – Close House – 2.5pts Each Way – 16/1 StanJames (4 places 1/4 odds)

We are in front of the rails bookmakers as the first race begins and the roar is tremendous and the tingle goes through your body and all of a sudden the talking is over.

Tony McCoy is cruising through the field when he smashes the third last on GILGAMBOA and that’s his and our race over with. Not the dream start, but 27 races left so no concerns yet. We pitch up in the Miller bar and have a stomach settling Guinness. TRIFOLIUM looks terrific in the paddock and I am sure we will get a place and very hopeful of nicking it. I manage to get 9/2 on the rails and turning for home I am thinking we can win this, very gallant in defeat and not quite good enough on the day, but a very small profit gained personally and a wash through on the competition. The big Irish contingent are bemused, as I am, by how poorly WRONG TURN runs, I can only put it down to the ground being to quick for him. The Don gets his day going with a 25/1 place and has his nose in front. My nap of the day JETZI is next, I have piled into this big time ew at 10/1 as I have huge negatives for the front three, HURRICANE FLY is a huge negative as no horse over 10 years old has won since 1927. At the other end of the scale OUR CONOR is only 5 years old and in 90 running’s only one has prevailed and no horse has won without a prep run for 19 years so that puts a line through THE NEW ONE.

Barry Geraghty travels like a dream and turning for home it looks as if the first time visor has had the desired effect, jumping the last JETZI and myself are both flying and the last thing you want is McCoy on your tail, trust me the last 100 yards were the longest I can remember for a long time. Oi Oi a monster punt personally landed a 9/1 winner poked into the Don and ANDY BELLS punters have also backed him ew, so all round a blinder. QUEVAGA she is just an amazing horse and at 10/11 I reinvest courtesy of Corals. Three out I do just wonder if Mr Mullins has been to the well once to often, but wow, brilliant, words are not enough to sum up a fantastic win and what an achievement and in the style she did it who’s to say there won’t be a number seven next year. How unlucky are we not to make it three wins on the trot as SHOTGUN PADDY fluffs the last and is agonisingly beaten a nose into second. We don’t trouble the scorers in the last and day 1s punting is very successful and we can all sleep well knowing we are taking a nice little lead into day 2.

The after racing jovialities began in the wine bar, where I was convinced that we were on the QE2 as The Rock couldn’t stand up straight and was swaying around like Shakin Stevens and this is only 7pm. We decided to get some substance in him and the steaks were nearly as nice as the ginger concierge that has strutted her stuff there for many years. Unfortunately the steaks didn’t have the desired effect as the bouncer of Club 21 reminded us, you two are ok (pete and myself), but there’s no way that one with the red shirt (The Rock Holden) is coming in here. So begrudgingly we hail a cab and head back to our flat.

Wednesday 12th. On hindsight The Rock did us a major favour last night as we are up as fresh as daisy’s, well Pete and Myself. The Rock who is now prowling the fridge informs me that we have a meet with The Greyhound Master today, which should be fun to pull the piss out of him.

GAMBLING DON SELECTIONS

1.30 – Faugheen – 5pt Win – 7/4 Bet365
2.05 – Many Clouds – 2.5pts Each Way – 18/1 SkyBet (3 places 1/4 odds)
2.40 – Whisper – 2.5pts Each Way – 25/1 Stan James (5 places 1/4 odds)
3.20 – Sire De Grugy – 5pt Win – 10/3 BetVictor
4.00 – Balthazar King – 5pt Win – 6/1 Ladbrokes
4.40 – Azza – 2.5pts Each Way – 20/1 StanJames (5 places 1/4 odds)
5.15 – Modus – 2.5pts Each Way – 10/1 Bet365 (4 places 1/4 odds)

ANDY BELL SELECTIONS

1-30 – Red Sherlock – 2.5pts Each Way – 5/1 Bet365 (3 places 1/4 odds)
2-05 – Corrin Wood – 2.5pts Each Way – 12/1 Bet365 (3 places 1/4 odds)
2-40 – Kaylif Aramis – 2.5pts Each Way – 22/1 Bet365 (5 places 1/4 odds)
3-20 – Sire De Grugy – 5pt Win – 10/3 Bet365
4-00 – Balthazar King – 2.5pts Each Way – 6/1 Bet365 (4 places 1/4 odds)
4-40 – Orgilgo Bay – 2.5pts Each Way – 16/1 Bet365 (5 places 1/4 odds)
5-15 – Vigil – 2.5pts Each Way – 7/1 Bet365 (4 places 1/4 odds)

The Don is on the scoreboard when the favourite bolts up after another masterful ride from King Ruby and our RED SHERLOCK is hampered out of a place. So first honours to The Don. Our next selection CORRIN WOOD puts in a horror show of jumping for some unknown reason, as he jumped like a stag when winning last time and after hitting numerous fences fades away and is well beaten. Not a great start after such a good winning day 1. In the third KAYLIF ARAMIS is travelling so well and is booked for a certain place when falling three out, which guts me, but not as much as when I realise the winner is The Dons selection at 25/1, now that’s going to take some catching. SIRE DE GRUGY looks stunning in the paddock and for all the special signups it’s a maximum bet because both of us have made him our selection. Also in the next we both agree on BALTHAZAR KING and after a foot perfect round of jumping Dicky delivers and once again the sign ups have had a 6/1 maximum winner.

The greyhound Master bottles the meet and we all think that he was rather intimidated or just plain frightened of the piss being ripped out of him.

The Don has smashed me today and is back with vengeance.

Thursday 13th. Today is a very sad day in my life and writing is not part of the agenda unfortunately, as my very dear friend Ken passes away and goes to pastures anew.

Friday 14th. Today I can’t really get my head round things and the passing of Ken has left a huge void in my life as it has many others. ( I will sing like the belovered Canaries and tell all next week).

The card looks incredible difficult, but I have some very strong views which surround BOBS WORTH.

Saturday 15th. I have to catch the 9-01 train home this morning so after a really late night I will have to fill in the gaps next week and trust me its worth waiting for.

Well done The Don, a great competition and everybody are winners with an outright profit.

TODAYS TOP TIP:

3.15 Uttoxeter – Songsmith – 5/1 (Bet365) – Each Way Bet

Thanks to Betfan and everyone concerned for a fantastic week.

Back next Saturday.
