Well that historic day of all days is upon us, I speak not off the start of the great Ayr Gold Cup meeting or the continuation of the Yarmouth Festival with the Artful Dodger Andy Bell lurking by the members bar all week.
No I speak of the Scots voting for Independence and the break up of the UK. Now we all have our views I will happily abide by if not celebrate the break up of the union myself. I’ve already spoken to the Tartan Tipster a man steeped in the yes campaign and he assures me whatever the result it will not change our friendship, we still won’t have one!
Now the media keep telling us this is neck and neck, too close to call etc, however the Bookmakers not known for calling these things wrong refuse to budge and still offer no better than 2/9 on the no vote. If you fancy tonight will be goodbye forever Sportingbet will give you 4/1, 4/1 on a too close to call. Something makes me think the bookmakers feel the undecided voters will go the way of the no campaign creating a comfortable win. Very possibly and there is of course the other factor where people are pretending they will vote yes and from the privacy of the voting booth will pop down no when there fellow clansman aren’t looking!
We shall see it will be a long night, The Tartan Tipster and I will be in constant contact via Skype as the results come in and BetFan Towers is staying open all night if needed.
Right enough of this lets have a bet and head down to Yarmouth. Stableline Gold is killing it this month with over a hundred points of profit and we will keep pushing and attacking the Bookmakers from all sides. The 3.50 at Yarmouth is a nursery and we have good info on the Henry Candy trained Cape Xenia who battled to victory last time. She has had her form boosted by horses she has raced against and the yard feel she’s on a winning mark.
Enjoy the day lets see what tonight brings.
Back next Thursday.
