Friday’s are always newsletter and free tip day. The Romford card was full of fancies and tremendous buckles. I seem to do well with my free tips – not so sure those gee gee chaps take it as serious as me.
Drumna Finch my free tip hosed up as planned we took as much of the 15/8 that my friends at Ladbrokes would give us, he was sent off even money favourite. Steve’s Dream let members down for a bumper pay day – he’s not trapping and is off my Xmas card list. However the main event was my own dog Head iton Tom could he land a hat trick of Friday night 575 opens. Mark Wallis bitch Jazz Tilly was the hot favourite after her Coronation Cup Final performance. Tom flashed out and Tilly missed the break but Tilly took off down the back straight looking to get up Tom’s inside at the final bend but he shut the door and kicked on to win. Another memorable win for my four and half year old champion!
Saturday morning I always look forward to reading Andy Bell aka Ding Dongs diary – he was off cruising (suits him) but was disappointed with the lots of whinging about expensive internet – surely with all his winners he keeps banging on about, he could afford it you would think! I think AB and Don are worried about taking me on in the battle of the tipsters after reading the comments in their newsletters. It was a good read anyway and made me chuckle.
Crayford & Newcastle never inspire me on a Saturday hence why I like the horses on a Saturday! However I put out a small advice on two runners both of whom hit the bar! No major damage done to my subscribers wallets unlike mine, as Mrs GMT was in need of some pampering, especially after seeing my wallet after my Romford exploits the previous evening. So I took her out to her favourite restaurant and we went to watch a movie. The film was good but I don’t want to sound like Ding Dong but £20 to watch a film – scandalous!
Sundays earlier than usual kennel visit my dogs all got walked and duly rewarded with hot dogs before the heavens opened. Upon my return I read Dons newsletter now he’s having a pop, I have obviously ruffled a few feathers. Anyway had a quick look at Henlow card after getting a call from Angus the Dog about one – take the 9/2 he said all the right people fancy this! I thought I would wait till later to prop it up as tonight’s tip! He phoned back an hour later saying it was raining cats & dogs at Henlow – u might want to hold off with that tip until we see if there is a track bias. Unfortunately I couldn’t really do that as you need to watch the first three or four races to see if there is any bias. By which time it’s too late to tip! So I sent out a no bet advice and yes the track looked and ran perfect no bias – the dog duly won at 9/4f not happy!!
Monday took one look at Nottingham where the open racing was taking place and decided not to play, which was a wise decision when I checked the results later that evening. Lots of strange results! Caught up with my homework.
You have to do your research – ‘fail to prepare – prepare to fail’ I was always told!
Tuesday saw the start of the Betfred mini festival at Sheffield with the finals live on Sky next week. So I set about sorting out some ante post selections for my subscribers. I much prefer trying to get a bigger price about a dog by backing it ante post and getting it in a Final. Especially the shorter three heats and a final competitions. We had limited success though with both selections making it through to one final but blowing out completely in the other two! Spent the evening watching all the action in my local betting shop, where the FOBT were very busy with customers throwing lots of twenty pound notes into the abyss!
Wednesday was a Sky night which always means an early start as the markets can move very quickly early doors. It wasn’t the best of sky cards but we looked long and hard to find a winner. Not long enough though as it appeared my selection to my subscribers was wearing lead boots in quicksand! The weather was atrocious with heavy rain battering the Hall Green track all day. It looked like the dog hated the weather. Don’t blame him. However the evening finished on a high, when Scala Dromin one of our two ante post selections cut down the long time leader Blonde Razor in the feature event Prestige Final. This rewarded my subscribers who were all holding 14/1 vouchers on the 7/1 winner.
Two ante post greyhound events have taken place in 2014 and we have had 20/1 place in the first and a 14/1 winner in the second – more reasons if they were needed to join my service. What are you waiting for?
Thursday saw me disappointed with the Hove card and we know it’s all graded action at Henlow. It was looking unlikely that I would have a selection. I had to pop out to Kings Cross and pick up my in-laws who are down to see Poppy-Rose but I was back in time to see my bitch Dear Holly win her second A1 from three races this month on the Romford bags card!
Even after all the RPGTV races to be priced up – there was nothing that got my punting juices flowing. Even though I put out a no bet…..I’m still watching every race – looking for our next winner!
For this weeks free tip we’re again saving the best for last.
Jason Heath has a fantastic record with his dogs who he runs at Romford. His Beanos Kenny is in fine form winning on the off Sky coronation card and finished second last week behind Drumna Finch. This looks a drop in class tonight and a repeat of either performance will suffice!
