The Last Of Yarmouth ??????
Sunday 14th. Wow, what a day for Bellie Boy, on our final day in the battle of the tipsters. We well and truly sent the Jolly Jock back to his beloved Bonny Scotland, with his sporran well and truly tucked between his legs.
We had the most amazing day and set of results, that you can only dream of for an ultra competitive festival. We kicked in the first three winners, ESTIDHKAAD at 11/10, MUTHMIR at 9/2 and than ANSGAR who lead all the way at 7/1. We than continued our amazing run by getting us all a place in the last four races, with SNOW SKY 3rd ew at 5/1, then BOLD SNIPER also 3rd at 7/1 ew, ROTHERWICK looked like winning at one stage, but secured us another place at 6/1 ew and than finally BRONZE ANGEL was just foiled from winning by Hughsey, being at his strongest and finished 2nd at 9/2. So in all an absolutely amazing day, where I didn’t have a losing race to finish off the four day leger special making a marvellous 36 points profit and making a personal overall four day profit of 28ish points
Wed +10
Thur + 5
Fri (-22.5)
Sat +36
But much more importantly the special returned everybody who sighed up a brilliant 23 points profit on the four days, which is no mean feat, having to bet in EVERY race and hats off to the Jolly Jock for a great effort as well.
It’s a shame I didn’t have the foresight to put all my special selections on my main service, but hey, with hindsight, if only we could bottle it we would all be millionaires.
My LATE BETTING clients also had a spanking winner, as I put up MUTHMIR as a maximum ew bet at 9/2, which will move us somewhere near the top of the BETFAN table, with well in excess of 125 points profit secured already this month.
Sunday Morning. With the Jolly Jock sent packing back to his Glen with a “riddie” and his “geddie” shut. The dust has settled and it seems like the day after the Lord Mayors show, all rubbish.
The LATE BETTING service is in fact top of the table, with Simon Holden’s Stable Line Cold in close second. On what is a very quiet morning I do get a good word for the Mark Johnson trained JALINGO who he has sent to Bath, which is mine and my clients only bet of the day.
After this weeks early mornings, late nights and excursions, I am going to wind down and chill out and just watch the Irish racing on TV.
JALINGO in all honesty runs very poorly and never looks like winning. These poor low grade races I should know better.
Monday15th. SPEND A PENNY looks to have been found an ideal opportunity to lose his maiden tag at Musselburgh today. He lead over half a furlong further at York last time and didn’t quite get home, so today’s five furlongs on a wick track should be ideal. I have a good bet on him and email out.
I am gearing myself up for the Yarmouth three day festival which kicks off tomorrow and trying without any luck to book a hotel.
I get a lunchtime call telling me that their FOR SHIA AND LULA is expected to run a huge race. Although she is 7/2, I personally back her ew, not that it’s normal practice for me to back a 7/2 shot ew, but I am just a bit concerned about the draw and suggest all my LATE BETTING clients do likewise.
I have been unable to book the same hotel for the three nights so I decide to come home Tuesday night and just stay Wednesday and Thursday, which should be enough anyway.
Oh dear SPEND A PENNY runs like a toilet and trails in very near last, not his running for sure, there must be a problem.
FOR SHIA AND LULA rewards our confident and overcomes the problematic draw to win nice and easily and gives us a seventeen point profit and our fourth winning day on the trot.
Tuesday 16th. Yesterday’s win for the LATE SERVICE increases our lead at the top of the leaders board and takes us over 150 points profit, with a 50% strike rate and an amazing over 150% return on investment.
It’s the start of the three day festival at Great Yarmouth today and the last of the year, due to remedial works on the course to smooth out the ridges. I wonder if it will open again????
Steve is mad keen on SLEEP IN FIRST and tells me defeat is thought to be out of the question and as I say in my email to my ANDY BELL clients everything is perfect for it, the trip, the ground, it’s mark and also the 7lb claimed Daragh. I get my boys to go maximum on him for me and also tell my clients to have a maximum 10 point win and advise taking the 3/1.
The Yarmouth card doesn’t look very inspiring and it will be a no bet day for me. My father picks me up and as we arrive I have never seen the car park so full, we have to park 100 yards down the overflow car park. The weather has brought the holiday makers out in mass and the grassed area resembles a Spanish beach. I do have a mission today although it’s not a bet it will benefit BETFAN and all their clients as I am meeting the Colonal aka Kevan Minter with a view to bringing him on board to strengthen our already strong tipping team. A 100/1 shot has occurred today, I decide that it’s only going to be water and tea that passes my lips this afternoon.
SLEEP IN FIRST is travelling very nicely until he slips on the top bend and drops back, I am just concerned he may of hurt himself, but young Daragh is always in control and even with missing the last he wins going away. Oi oi a personal maximum bet landed and also one for my clients. No celebratory drink as I’m whisked straight to the car and we are away before I have a chance to change my mind.
Wednesday17th. A Super winning day for us all yesterday and the Colonal has agreed to join our tipster ranks and I am told he will launch in early October. The good thing about strengthening our ranks is the fact that we can drop/lose the poorer performing tipsters and services, which hold us back as a company and a market force.
What’s Lord Howie getting out of his pram for and slating “some” betfan tipsters for bulling up short priced winners and saying it wipes out most punters, I agree to a degree, but a winner is a winner and when his own service has made only 183 points profit (that includes his recent 90/1double) in 35 months, that’s an average of 5pts profit a month, just about pays for the subscriptions, surely nothing to shout about is it, The Lord.
I am booked into the Palm court hotel tonight and tomorrow, so it probably won’t be a water and tea for two more days.
Once again i’m not inspired by the Yarmouth card and have no plans to get involved, that is until I arrive and find out the plan for WALL OF SOUND is to be jumped out and poach an early lead and is a cracking place option. I quickly email this information out to the LATE service and advise taking the 16/1 which is on offer.
Personally I have a view in the second race and it surrounds Micky Quinn’s runner, REFUSE COLETTE, I think she has finished her super spell and the handicapper has caught up with her, so I lay her win and place. In running she looks the first beat, but I do just cover myself by backing her to win at 9.6 in running, just in time as she bolts in and produces her best run to date. Micky Quinn is very animated, which he should be, because he has improved his little charge tremendously, on shaking his hand he asks did I back her ?? I said “no, sorry mate, but very well done” I thought it prudent not to mention I had laid her lol.
WALL OF SOUND is up next and jumps the gates and leads as we expected and coming into the final furlong I can see a 16/1 winner happening, only for him just to get caught in the final strides, a nice ew profit, but wow very nearly a nice cop.
I join the Quinny clan in the bar and we all have a few and he thinks COLETTE can go close again at Newmarket on the 25th, I have my reservations again, but keep them to myself after her super career best run today.
The rest of the card passes without incident and we head into town after Stuart Williams clears up in the last.
Pub on the prom is the habitual first port of call and for a change it’s packed early doors. We have a nice crew assembled already tonight and I am going to attempt to stay relatively sober as we have the “big un” tomorrow, Kens memorial day, which Michael Foulger (Norwich city director) has sorted and kindly sponsored the race.
The girlies are conspicuous by their absence tonight as even money they are all busy matching their shoes to their outfits, collars and cuffs in ready for tomorrows ladies day.
We head towards Othello’s to meet the ever cheerful Michael for some nosh. the popular selection seems to be the surf and turf, so I weigh in myself and quickly grab the wine menu, three red and three white looks a good starter and as I don’t hear any complaints I go ahead.
We leave Michael with far to much of our hard earned and head up to Bear, which is a club at the top of town, the sort with scaffold poles scattered around, not my cup of tea, thought I said no tea today, but I do manage to drag myself up there. I do honestly struggle to see the point in stuffing notes in a girlies garter just to see her boobs and then being told, no touching, it’s even worse if you go into the back room, but hey, everybody to their own and there are no shortage of takers, so I can only assume I’m in the minority.
With half of the crew out the back, probably hiding their modesty’s and wallets, we head for a late one in town on the Prom, not at the time, but thankfully it’s shut and we head back to our hotels.
Thursday 18th. It’s Kens Memorial day and his race is the second on the card, where we have a Cumani hotpot, which everybody knows is virtually unbeatable and is trading at 8/13.
It’s the start of the Ayr three dayer and that’s where I am betting. RISE TO GLORY who shouldn’t be a 8/1 shot after his two wins in three races and ALMUHEET, who will love the course and the ground at 4/1. I email both these out to ANDY BELLs clients as ew bets and also an ew double. As I also say on my message, we should have a LATE CALL bet, but the connections just want to make sure the course isn’t to firm, when they get there.
We meet in the owners and trainers bar, just as Frankie gets beaten on the odds on shot in the first and Tommo gets in on the Kens Memorial day act with an interview with most connected to him in the parade ring. As we expected the Cumani trained BARTHOLOMEW FAIR bolts up at 4/7 in the memorial race and after the presentations and a few tearful speeches we retire to Michael Folgers box.
We get the nod on the Richard Hannon trained AL BANDAR, which Hughsey rides, so I put this out as our promised LATE bet and advise taking the 9/4 price.
The wine is free flowing by now, as we watch both my Ayr selections get a place and we make a nice profit on the day with two singles and an ew double.
We get the nod on the Richard Hannon trained AL BANDAR, which Hughsey rides, so I put this out as our promised LATE bet and advise taking the 9/4 price.
AL BANDAR is smashed up in the betting, looks great in the paddock and goes of a very short 6/4 shot.
Hughsey gets in the drive position two furlongs out and no other jockey would of beaten us on AL BANDAR today, as both go clear, other than Ryan Moore, just for a moment I thought we had just got it, but our head was on the way up and we are second.
AL BANDAR does dampen our spirits a shade, but doesn’t ruin the day and we all kick on in our attempt to empty the gratis bar. 6-00 O’clock soon arrives and we are all ushered out. We head into town and straight into the Colonal H to visit Ruth. I am full and head back to the hotel for an early night, not by design, I think it was my dance on the table that sealed my fate,
Friday 19th. A little fragile, but it could of been worse this morning. I pop to La Continental for breakfast before I leave for home. Although the LATE SERVICE has had a losing day we are still way out in front at the top of the table, with ANDY BELL now starting to hit the winners again and is creeping up the table.
I understand that the plan is for BONNE FEE to give Jason Maguire a come back ride win and at 10/11 I pass this information on and back it myself.
Ayr looks very difficult today, but I am told that Silvester Kirks INSPECTOR NORSE is expected to go very close and at 9/4 this is my final ANDY BELL selection of the day.
I meet up with Tony the machine for an end of the week catch up as I have a day free before Newmarket tomorrow. We watch all the racing on my iPad from the Bear where we have a very jovial Trudy behind the ramp today.
BONNE FEE wins very nicely and ensures a winning day on ANDY BELLS service regardless on how INSPECTOR NORSE performs later. I have a busy day at Newmarket planned tomorrow so I leave before our last and listen to him just get beaten in to second at a very well backed 7/4.
To bed early on the back of a very small winning day.
Saturday 20th. Newmarket today and I shall be leaving at 12ish. Fortunately we have missed most of the flash floods so the ground should be good to firm.
I think the pictures in the Daily Mirror are disgraceful of WIGMORE HALL being humanly put down, who really okayed these pictures to be published on the front page. Do people really think this doesn’t happen, because it does and MUST be done for the sake of the poor animal. This particular horse as most, has had the best treatment and a very privileged life. Shame on you the Daily Mirror for your come and buy me cheap shot.
Today’s free tip; 4-15 Newmarket RAY WARD – Win Bet 7/2 – (888)
We have a huge week in store, with the Newmarket’s Cambridge meeting, which is normally a very prosperous one for me and with both my service topping the 150 points profit for the month, maybe it’s time to join and hover up some of them tax free profits.
