Shrewd Tipster

September 16, 2014 By admin Leave a Comment

A great start to the week when my only bet & free tip on Tuesday HIGH CHURCH bolted up. I send my tips to subscribers at 8am & they were all on at 15/8 before the newsletter went out by which point it was 6/4.

The horse I flagged up as my top horse to follow BATTERSEA, who won at 8/1 for us last week, well two of the horses he had behind him in his previous race at Ascot are out today and must be strong fancies KINSHASA in the 4:30 at Yarmouth & NABATEAN 4:50 Chepstow.

Last week was dominated by the excellent Doncaster meeting and the epic Battle of Britain Tipster challenge between myself and Andy Bell. There was some great banter on social media as it went down to the last race before Bellie sneaked it in a photo finish, well done to him and for being so gracious in victory (not) but the real winners were the subscribers who showed a tidy profit.

The highlight of the meeting for me was Muthmir who gave us another big sprint race winner, what a great early price of 6/1 and don’t oppose this horse in any company if the grounds quick. Hopefully we can do it again the week at Ayr with numerous big field sprints, one thing to be wary of at this meeting is the draw basis can change from day to day, if one side wins the Bronze Cup easily they’ll flood the track with water and it will be a disadvantage the next day, but that means we can go against the crowd & get some great early prices. This is my Cheltenham festival with two days at Hamilton Park to follow, so hopefully my liver can stand it and if you see me there I’ll buy you a beer.

Another big betting event is this Thursday’s Scottish Independence vote and at the moment the polls are tighter than Simon Holden’s wallet but I expect the No vote to edge, if it’s a Yes I’ll do a handstand in the winners enclosure before the first race at Ayr on Friday whilst wearing a kilt!

This week’s new additions to the hotlist:
KISUMU, RIO RONALDO, ARAGOSTA & WAADY.

Tuesday’s Free Tip:

4:30 Yarmouth – KINSHASA – Win Bet 7/4 (bet365)

Until next Tuesday, Happy Punting!

Stable Line Gold

Britain is bathed in sunshine and as we sit one day away from Yorks two day Sky Bet meeting historic news emerges from the Knavesmire.

Gentleman will be able to just wear shirt and ties and jackets can stay at home. This is the modern world as Paul Weller exclaimed all those years ago and it seems the clerk of the course has listened to the pleas of sweltering male racegoers and relented. Last year during the savagely hot long Summer there was many a collapse in the heat from men wearing Black Suits and dark ties with buttons done up.

Now as many of you know I am considered by many at BetFan Towers as something of a fashion icon/spokesman, they say I look and dress like George Clooney (I can’t see it myself). When I see the state of Andy Bell, TGD and the Shrewd Tipster aka The Tartan Tipster Jimmy Welsh on course it takes the gloss off my status somewhat.

My advice is always wear a lighter if not white suit when racing in the Summer it will help avoid the old heat collapse which leaves you explaining to pals (it must be my tablets, when you know you aren’t on any tablets!)

After racing tomorrow we are promised the Beach Boys live a title itself rich in irony. The idea the guys can make it on stage unaided is pushing it never mind onto a surfboard but I’m sure it will be entertaining. Racing must adapt and seek out new audiences and the Summer Concert is certainly popular whether many who attend then go onto follow our great game day in day out is questionable but it can’t hurt. And as one of Jimmy Welsh’s heroes Phil Collins once said “No jacket required.”

Today sees lots of racing and then lots more tonight and on Stable Line Gold we’ve hit the books hard with our last three bets winning. Mick Quinn the man they called Sumo has at last got a decent horse again and though the price is nothing to Skype home about he can bag us some winnings the way he used to bag the goals in.

The horse is Refuse Collette and runs in the 5.35 at Yarmouth. Take the 4/5 with Bet365 because I think they are going to hammer this one.

So stay cool, join Stable Line Gold as we continue smashing the Books up and if you see a surf board near the Beach Boys dressing room, it isn’t theirs.

Back next Thursday.
