EYE-CATCHERS

June 21, 2017 By admin Leave a Comment

Well that’s another one I got wrong tipping England to beat Pakistan in Crickets Champions Trophy and they go on to thrash India in the final. Listen that’s tipping we all back losers at times but overall my clients and myself always make long term profits and the only losers are the people who jump from one tipster to another every time they experience a losing period.

Those people are a lost cause and personally I feel they should give the game up as they have neither the heart, aptitude or brains to make money in the professional betting world.

There was a tremendous crowd at the Oval for the cricket final enjoyed by a sell out crowd and what tickled me was this ad in the Telegraph which read “My friend has two tickets to the final for which he paid £250 each but he did not realise it was the same day as his wedding. If you are interested he is looking for someone to take his place at the Sikh Temple Gravesend. The brides name Gurmit. She is 5ft 4ins and will be wearing a red Lengha. She is also a good cook.”

Royal Ascot is now in full swing and for once the weather is scorchio. The big handicap today is the Royal Hunt Cup at 5.00 and Howies Hottie is Bossy Guest trained by Mick Channon and ridden by the very hot Silvestre De Sousa.

The gelding is a little difficult to predict but on a going day he has tons of ability. If one looks back through his form he ran 4th to Gleneagles in a 2000,gns. He is available at a general 25/1 and that looks cracking each way value.

EYE-CATCHERS

FLAT

Glory Awaits trainer D.Simcock – Ran well at Sandown and might be best at 7 furlongs.

Realise trainer D.Simcock – Romped home at Bath and looks ahead of the handicap.

Jack Dexter trainer J.Goldie – Ran okay on firm ground but better on a soft surface.

Golden Stunner trainer R.Beckett – Raced very freely at York yet still managed to go close and with a more considerate ride will soon be winning.

Back next Wednesday be lucky.

Betting Opportunity Eye-Catchers

I find one of the most interesting things about our flat season so far is the jockeys championship with Ryan Moore out injured and current champ Richard Hughes declaring that he will retire after this years Glorious Goodwood Festival.

This leaves Silvestre De Sousa the hot favourite clear at the top of the table on 58 winners with his nearest rivals being Paul Hanagan, James Doyle and William Buick.

In 2011 Hanagan pipped De Sousa by four to take the crown but that was while he was away riding in the Melbourne Cup. This year the Championship only runs until October 17th making it a fairer playing field for all.

Mind you one jockey I would love to see win it is Graham Lee. He is the most dedicated of horsemen having won some of national hunts top honours including the Grand National.

He now rides at 8 stone 8lbs and has had more rides than anyone this season. In fact in my opinion he is probably the strongest in a finish apart from Ryan Moore.

So come on Graham keep picking off those winners up North and who knows what might happen come October.

We have plenty of racing in the UK today but for Howies Hottie I’m going over to Ireland for the 7.00 at Naas. This is a competitive 6 furlong sprint with 20 runners declared.

The selection is Burren View Lady and Lee Roche takes the ride. The mare is on a winnable mark having won off of much higher ratings when trained by Tim Easterby. She needed her last run having been off for some months and regular readers would remember I mentioned her in my eye-catcher comments.

As long as they don’t get any heavy rain at Naas I think she has outstanding each way chances.

EYE-CATCHERS

FLAT

Senrima trainer B,Meehan – A nice winner at Haydock despite running green. I think she can win again in higher grade.

Indian Chief trainer D.Nicholls – He was going well until fading over 12 furlongs and a drop in trip looks the answer. The horse ran 2nd in the Dante a few years ago and I can’t believe there isn’t a race in him.

Your Pal Tal trainer J.Levins – Collared close home over 6.5 furlongs and a slight drop in distance should see him in the winners circle.

JUMPERS

Shah of Persia trainer W.Greatrex – Failed to last home over 3 miles last time and this decent type can win when returned to a shorter trip.

Manhattan Swing trainer B.Ellison – Finished with a flourish at Market Rasen having to come wide into the straight. I notice he has an entry in the Galway Hurdle at the end of the month.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.
