The Knavesmire is upon us and all BetFans leading tipsters are coming out to play alongside the best horses and jockeys in the World for four brilliant days.
The spiv suited Mr Holden tells me the Knavesmire dries out quicker than any course bar at Cheltenham and for once he is right so I don’t think we should worry too much about the deluge of the past few days. At one point on Friday afternoon I half expected Noah to be working round Newmarket High Street.
Lets keep everything crossed for two things this week, first The Don is staying at a different Hotel to Andy Bell and his motley crew and second Gleneagles and Golden Horn both turn up for the Juddmonte on Wednesday and we get the race of the season.
They were obviously in order of importance there!
Very often in racing we see these matches mooted but very rarely do they take place so firstly a big well done to connections of BOTH horses if they both turn up. The Guineas winner versus the Derby winner over the median distance of 1 mile 2 is the ultimate talking point and challenge. The Don is clearly swimming against the tide and the betting in thinking Gleneagles is the likely winner.
What shocks the Don is as I write we can get 7/2!! on Gleneagles which strikes me as the bet of the century. We will come to Golden Horn but first lets remember Gleneagles is a beautifully bred multiple Group 1 winner who they seriously thought about running in the Derby.
Coolmore make very few mistakes in top races and the clowns who think Gleneagles won’t stay are forgetting they are not prepared to risk its stud value lightly. The horse stays on breeding on what I’m hearing.
Now Golden Horn is 8/11 with Paddy Power and seems to be popular at odds on and he certainly has done nothing wrong. But is he a great horse or the best of a pretty ordinary bunch of middle distance horses. I don’t think much to the Derby this year and I think the Guineas here and in Ireland ran like better races. For that reason I’m backing Gleneagles heavy to be simply too fast for Golden Horn and the rest!!! Now please, please both turn up!
I’m playing heavy and often all week so if you are not in my private service then join now in time for Wednesday. Tipsters come and go but I’m the go to tipster for big events and this is a huge week. I would trust me over the keyboard warriors anyway but that’s my opinion and opinions are like noses, everybody has got one.
I’m taking in Southwell’s big jumps day of the year today on my way up and the atmosphere will be terrific and it’s a great Summer Jumps card. In the 5.05 I expect Frenchseventyfive to pay for my day and 7/4 is a fair price.
So it’s decision time…
Get me onside this week and bet with me for 4 terrific days of big priced punting, favourite backing here only lines the pockets of the bookmakers so don’t do it!
So get with The Don he is BetFans undisputed number 1
Back next Sunday.
