Well who would have expected Champions Chelsea to have been floored by Bournemouth last week. Sir Alex Ferguson has offered advice to Roman Abramovich not to sack Jose Mourinho and let him turn things round.

Believe me Mr Abramovich doesn’t need advice from anybody as he has turned Chelsea from a laughing stock into a great club.

Let me tell you a little bit about Roman as a boy he was orphaned at the age of five and was brought up by his aunt. He lived in a region of Siberia and in his late teens moved to Moscow where he sold second hand cars and tyres to make a living. At this time he met Boris Berelovsky an entrepreneur who had forged a strong friendship with President Yeltsin and he became a member of Yeltsins inner circle as Berelovskys apprentice.

During this time in the late 1990’s these guys took over all the major utilities in Russia in particular oil, gas and electricity and they became what we now call oligarchs. After Yeltsins death these guys organised the elections of a new President and their choice was former K.G.B supremo Vladamir Putin.

After a few years Bereslovsky fell out with Putin and now lives in London having claimed Political asylum and the apprentice Abramovich became Putins trusted advisor. So beware Lord Sugar who you appoint as your apprentice.

Roman is a very shrewd cookie and earns more in a week than the likes of David Beckham earn in a year so I dont think he needs advice from Fergie. Also you may not know that Roman has given untold millions to charity and good causes around the Globe and is not the dark figure the media would have you believe.

It’s not been a good start to December for my tipping services but as I have said before the best time to join is not after you hear about a massive win but before it happens. Come and join the party and I will pay for the turkey and a lot more too.

It’s very much like investing in Gold or Silver you don’t buy when the price is high but when it goes down. That’s how speculators make their money and the same applies to joining a tipping service.

Todays Howies Hottie goes in the 2.55 Lingfield on the Brendan Powell trained Rakaan. The gelding is not the most reliable however he is well weighted and has a good burst of finishing speed when in the mood. He should be a big price so a little each way might be the answer.

HOT HANDICAPPERS – Hope you were on Temple Road he won at 4/1

SYNTHETIC SURFACES

Isis Blue trainer R.Millman – This horse has had injury problems but he does seem well in at the weights and can pick up a race before long.

Masterfull Act trainer D.O’Meara – Hasn’t been with the yard long and goes very well on the Southwell fibresand.

Temple Road trainer M.Bradley – Coasted home the other day and could still be ahead of the handicapper.

JUMPS

Quinz trainer Lawney Hill – Not as good as he was when trained by Philip Hobbs but can still pick up a race over fences when the ground dries.

Rocky Creek trainer P.Nicholls – Hampered at Aintree on Saturday and he is a lot better than that effort.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

Betting Opportunity

The weather continues to play havoc with racing mainly due to water logging and even today there are early morning inspections at Newbury and Newcastle.

So it’s great to see the tracks with artificial surfaces mainly keeping the show on the road. It was nice to see the track at Chelmsford back in business and a few more like that up North or in Scotland would be a super addition to the equine industry.

I was watching the racing on the box yesterday and General Tufto who has run 150 times was a ready winner at the age of ten.

It was great to see and what a credit to racing the old boy is. There won’t be any fanfares from the likes of Claire Balding, Nick Luck or Simon Holt but the gelding does as much for racing as any Cheltenham or Ascot winner.

I am pleased to report that the General was a 9/1 winner for Betting Opportunity and also a 27/1 winner on Fold4Gold as he was tipped in a Lucky 15 bet.

I was recently asked again what are my favourite bets? Which is easily answered there are two that stand out for me, firstly the Lucky 15 where you can win a fortune for small stakes plus the one winner with certain bookies pays you treble odds. I do however think this bet is made for big price selections not favourites.

The other bet I like and my most profitable is my place and win system on Betfair loaded 80% in favour of the place market.

I make a regular income from this bet and it’s so simple if you have the right knowledge. In the last two weeks just two horses have made me substantial sums one being the General Tufto and the other being Rakaan these horses have either won or been placed 7 times in recent weeks.

A few of my private clients have asked me if I was prepared to run a new advisory service based on this system and I have been giving it serious thought.

My problem is it would not be cheap and I’m not one who believes in low discount short term or free trials as this only attracts the band wagon jumpers who change tipping service every few weeks. It’s very much like the football fans who changed allegiances from their clubs to join Man City and Chelsea when the money arrived.

Of course if Betfan came up with an offer I couldnt refuse I might be tempted to market it with them. So all I can say at the moment is watch this space.

Well last week we managed to find a winner for Howies Hottie with Temple Road who I might add was a recent eyecatcher and Sea Soldier also romped in for them too.

Lets see if we can produce another winning tip today in the shape of Pour La Victoire in the Lingfield 3.35 who was just pipped by Temple Road last week. The Tony Carroll gelding has won over further but seems to be enjoying his sprinting these days. He has the car park draw but if Luke Morris can get him into a decent position from the start he has the pace to win this event.

EYECATCHERS

ARTIFICIAL SURFACES

Mias Boy trainer C.Dwyer – Another old timer who loves the polytrack and was unlucky in running last week.

Ansaab trainer T.Coyle – Just touched off at Lingfield and might have needed the run after an enforced holiday.

Anonymous John trainer D.Evans – Led for most of the journey at Chelmsford but didn’t quite get home. Either a more considerate ride or a drop in trip is the answer.

JUMPERS

Kinsmere trainer H.DALY – Ran a super race when 3rd in a staying hurdle but he will be seen to better effect when the ground dries out.

Harry The Viking trainer S.Thompson – This ex Paul Nicholls inmate ran a super race last time but the ground was just a bit to heavy for him.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

This Sunday we have the usual ritual of crowning BBC sports personality of the year. Rory Mcllroy is the hot oddson favourite and really looks past the post.

However it got me thinking to who were the greatest sportsmen and horses of all time and below is my list to which I’m sure will raise debate and eyebrows.

Football – Pele who was a 3 times World Cup winner and could do things with a ball that Messi could only dream about.

Cricket – Sir Don Bradman he had a batting average of 99.94 which is unbeatable in the modern game.

Tennis – Roger Federer a man who has won 17 grand slam titles.

Athletics – Jesse Owen who won 4 golds in front of Hitler in 1936 Olympics.

Boxing – This will cause debate as I’m going for Rocky Marciano who was undefeated in 49 fights in which 43 were knock outs. The Rock was killed in a plane crash at the age of 46. I know many will argue on behalf of Ali who was also a great but I can only pick one.

Golf – Gary Player the most travelled sportsman of all time clocking up over 15 million miles in his carreer from his home in South Africa. He won 9 majors but if he had lived in the states you could have doubled that.

Jump jockey – Tony McCoy the 18 times champ who is the undisputed best by a country mile.

Flat jockey – Lester Piggott, he has won 30 English Classics including 9 Derbys. Along with A.P. these two guys could win on total no hopers.

Best Jumping horse – Arkle who won 27 of his 35 races including 3 Cheltenham Gold Cups. He would run and win in handicaps with massive weights beating other horses out of sight. His biggest rival Mill House would also have been far too good for any current chaser. Sir Peter O’Sullivan called him a freak of nature.

Best flat horse – Phar Lap an Australian horse of the 1930’s who won the Melbourne Cup and 2 Cox Plates plus he won 4 races in 7 days at the Flemington Spring Carnival. He was later taken to America where he won his only race after which he was poisoned by the Mafia for being unbeatable.

Well that’s my list if you agree or have other ideas we would love to hear your comments.

Moving on to other biz I can tell you that Fold4Gold continues to find huge price winners with a 25/1 and 14/1 romping in last week so lets see if I can find a juicy one for Howies Hottie today.

I’m going to take a stab at the 7.40 Dundalk on the Mick Halford filly Ionatas. Now she has yet to place in any of her races to date but has shown glimmers of ability over longer trips. The 6 furlongs looks ideal and she has an inside draw which hopefully will help her get into a prominent position from the start.

EYECATCHERS – We had another good winner last Sunday with Modem 12/1

ARTIFICIAL SURFACES

Salvatore Fury trainer K.Dalgleish – Just failed to catch the winner over the minimum and an extra furlong would help.

Temple Road trainer M.Bradley – Hit the front before fading last time and either a drop in trip or being held up to the last second will make the difference.

Secondo trainer R.Stephens – Won well last week despite not having a clear passage and could well win again.

Unbridled Joy trainer C.Cox – Headed inside the furlong pole at Wolverhampton and a drop back to the mile seems the logical thing to do.

JUMPERS

Eduard trainer N.Richards – Looked all over the winner at Huntingdon and it might have been a poor jump at the last or lack of stamina. So maybe dropping to 2 miles would help.

ABoy Named Suzi trainer Lucy Wadham – Ran placed on his hurdling debut and will strip fitter next time out.

Brigadier Miller trainer N.Henderson – Another who ran well after an absence and will improve.

Souriyan trainer J.Snowdon – French import who will improve on his Fontwell run.

Back next wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

You often hear punters bemoaning their luck when they have had a yankie, Lucky 15, double or treble up but one has let them down for the maximum pay day. Well after hearing the tale I’m about to tell you they should be thankful for small mercies.

Last week in Germany 58 year old Franz Engelen was watching TV while checking off his lottery. He had forecast all six numbers correctly and shouted to his wife they had won the jackpot of over 900,000 Euros.

They telephoned all their family and friends and were planning for a new house, car and holiday as you would.

The next morning while having a coffee he just happened to double check the numbers to find they were totally different to his ticket. He phoned the television station to be told the presenter had read out the results from the previous week by mistake and that he had won absolutely nothing.

Now that’s what I call a choker so all you nearly punters zip it from now on!

Fold4Gold is still in decent form with its low risk high reward policy. Last week finding a 25/1 winner in Master Of The Hall in a 5 runner race.

Many people ask me what’s my secret of finding these very big priced winners and I have considered running a seminar at Brightons Grand Hotel in the executive suite but you would be looking at about £500 a seat.

In the mean time just join the services I’m involved in and I will continue to find you juicy winners.

I see Wayne Rooney gained his 100th England cap and yet again people are calling him a great player. I’m sorry, for me, he is a good player but no better than that.

I won’t go through a whole list but just a few Man Utd players who were truly greats are Sir Bobby Charlton, George Best and Dennis Law and Rooney is not in their league.

We have the big Newbury jumps meeting starting later this week but today’s jumping cards offer pretty poor stuff so for Howies Hottie I’m playing in the 3.10 Lingfield.

It’s a 6 furlong handicap and the one that I like is Temple Road who has my favourite jockey in the plate Graham Lee.

The Street Cry gelding has had a couple of races to get him fit and has a hood and tongue tie fitted. He is a course and distance winner and if Graham can find the gaps on this hold up performer he is handicapped to be right in the mix.

3:10 Lingfield – Temple Road – Each Way Bet 6/1 (bet365)

EYECATCHERS

ARTIFICIAL SURFACES

Dont trainer Julia Fielden – A cast off from the Cumani yard the horse has taken time to settle in however I did see glimmers of ability last time and improvement is on the way.

Topaling trainer M.Tompkins – A horse in form who is improving with every step up in trip and is ahead of the handicapper.

Watt Broderick trainer I.Williams – 2nd to Topaling at Wolverhampton and would have been an easy winner without that rival in the field.

Ask Dad trainer D.English – Restless in the stalls and had to be hard ridden to get a position. The gelding is better than the bare result and is on a good mark.

Outer Space trainer J.Osborne – Came with a strong late run at Kempton but had to come very wide to deliver his challenge.

Act Your Shoe Size trainer K.Dalgleish – 3rd behind Lorraine at Wolverhampton he has dropped to a lenient mark and should soon be winning. Also Jamie Osbornes Lorraine is also worth keeping an eye on.

JUMPERS

The Young Master trainer N.Mullholland – After the win of Balbriggan in the big handicap chase in Ireland on Sunday this horse must be on your radar as he beat the Irish grey out of sight a couple of runs ago. He was disqualified after winning the Badger Ales chase at Wincanton on technical grounds and compensation awaits.

The Giant Bolster trainer D.Bridgwater – Ran well for a long way at Haydock on ground he hated and will soon show his true ability.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

Wednesday Eye Catchers News

October 29, 2014 By admin Leave a Comment

Today I want to share with you exclusive news of just about the biggest gamble landed this flat season. It concerns a 4 year old grey gelding called Unsinkable.

Now Unsinkable was a very useful juvenile when trained by Richard Fahey but after a successful start to his career he lost his way and was sold to Jonjo O’Neils yard where A.P. rode him over hurdles without success before moving on to Ian Semples stable where he was beaten a total of over 87 lengths in his last five races.

During his time at Semples a plot was hatched to have a coup off with the old grey and he was finally sent to Ger Lyons in Ireland.

New connections entered him for a low grade apprentices race at Leopardstown last Saturday after some very encouraging work on Gers gallops a few weeks ago.

The race had over twenty runners and Unsinkable opened up at 25/1 on Saturday morning before being backed throughout Ireland and the UK with teams putting money on discreetly and under the radar of most bookies.

On track he opened up at 8/1 and with money still pouring on he went off the 11/2 jolly. The horse lived up to his name coming with a storming run down the wide outside to win easily and in the process landing the biggest coup since Barney Curley smashed up the old enemy.

I have to inform you I was privvy to this info but sworn to secrecy so could not give it out to any clients however if you refer back to my Eyecatcher column of August 27th I gave you the biggest clue possible.

It read Unsinkable is an Eyecatcher no other tipster would give you as the horse was a decent animal with Fahey and current trainer Semple was running it over the wrong trips. The ability is still there and the gelding can win at a massive price before the season ends.

If you put it into your tracker and acted in a professional manner you were surely on a juicy old winner.

Mind you even if you missed the Eyecatcher my private clients were on a cracking 65/1 winning double on Saturday.

Moving on to Howies Hottie for today I’m going to take a stab at Worcesters 1:20 opener a handicap chase just short of 3 miles. The tip is Dunlough Bay who is now with the Skelton team.

The horse has recently been transferred to them from Paul Webber where he was well regarded but kept getting little niggles.

He creeps in here on a favourable mark and if the Skelton brothers have worked their magic and got him fit on his seasonal debut he can go close.

EYECATCHERS

FLAT RACING

Pivotman trainer M.Easterby – A bit like Unsinkable he has been beaten miles in his last few races but I have seen glimmers of the old ability and if he is turned out before the end of the season on soft ground take notice.

Robin Hood trainer P.Mitchell – Another horse who is hard to win with but is knocking on the door.

Temple Road trainer M.Bradley – Polytrack specialist who is just hitting top form.

JUMPERS

Padge trainer E.Williams – Ran a very promissing 2nd yesterday after pulling too hard in the early stages and did well to make the frame. This was a very good race for Fas Lass and the first three should go into the note book.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

With less than a week to the start of the Cheltenham Festival all other sport pales into insignificance behind the greatest show on earth.

Owners, Trainers, Jockeys, bookies and punters gear themselves up for the equine Olympics hoping to profit by endeavour or by way of financial gain.

However before we all get carried away let me offer a little advice. There will be other decent betting opportunities away from the Festival as a 5/1 winner in a seller at Southwell pays exactly the same as a 5/1 winner at Cheltenham. Enjoy and savour the races and there is no need to bet on every event.

Most importantly with the weather forecast set to become drier don’t be fooled into backing all the horses that have been winning during our monsoon of a Winter but look for horses who will prefer the better ground.

I’m not saying the likes of Sire De Grugy and Hurricane Fly can’t win their respective races but at the current odds I might be prepared to lay them and look for something at more rewarding odds.

There are many ways of making money from betting and one method I have exploited this season is betting on football and finding a team who have difficulty scoring goals. The team I have been following is Brighton and nearly 90% of their games result in under 2.5 goals. You might prefer the other option and back say Man City or Liverpool to score over 2.5 goals per game. Either way it’s a ploy you should explore.

Another angle that is proving extremely profitable for me is place betting on Betfair with a smaller wager on the win market. If you stake say 5 points on the place and 1 point on the win and you know how to pick the right type of horse you can make a packet regardless if the selection wins or not. I have noticed one or two tipsters have tried something similar but all the know is to put up the first or second favourites.

I could actually be persuaded to run a service of this nature if Betfan make me an offer I cant refuse.

Well last week Howies Hottie was another non runner so let see if I can find one that makes the start. I’m going in the 4.00 Lingfield on the Julia Fielden trained filly Avidly.

She is a lightly raced maiden who Julia purchased off Khalid Abullah in France. The filly has been placed twice for her new connections but a look at her first run in France shows she finished 2nd to Comute who ran placed in a group race and she was infront of Ebiyza who was considered good enough to contest the Hong Kong Vase.

I’m not saying she is in that league and she must have had problems for her to be sold off cheaply but at decent odds she represents a bit of value against exposed handicappers.

EYECATCHERS

JUMPERS

Jack The Gent trainer G.Moore – Front running chaser who got mugged close home last time. He will prefer better ground and is just the type for the place betting I mentioned above in the right type of race.

ARTIFICIAL SURFACE

Ishikawa trainer K.Burke – Front runner who led but was collared in the final furlong last time out. A return to a mile is the logical answer.

Verse Of Love trainer D.Evans – Front runner who never managed to lead last time yet still managed to run very well. One to keep an eye open for as he can pop up at a big price sooner or later.

Prisca trainer J.Osborne – Recent but from the Hannons the filly finished 3rd last week at Lingfield. Jamie is still learning about her and once he finds the key this could be another big priced winner.

Temple Road trainer M.Bradley – Awinner for the eyecatchers this week when romping home at Lingfield. The gelding is now in top form and can win again.

Parisian Pyramid trainer L.Carter – 2nd behind Temple Road this frustrating grey gelding has plummeted in the weights and should soon pick up a small race.

Edgware Road trainer P.Morgan – Has been been in the doldrums for ages but last time seemed to show more ability. He is on an attractive mark and can be competitive.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

Wednesday Eyecatcher Issue

April 10, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment

The ups and downs of a jump jockey were well illustrated this week when Ryan Mania won the Grand National on Auroras Encore and the following day finishing up in hospital after a bad tumble at Hexham. However I can report this talented jockey has been released by the medics and should soon be back in action.

It was a great day for the trainers Sue and Harvey Smith who for once put the big yards in the shade.

Also it’s good to see the safety changes made to the great race worked and all horses and riders came home in one piece. The only downside was the Channel 4 coverage including camera work of a very low standard making it very difficult to pick out your horses.

The only ones to cover themselves in glory were the eloquent Mick Fitzgerald and Alastair Down.

The English cricket season is about to start and we are all looking forward to the Ashes series this Summer. However one can not overlook the dire straights of our County game. I have to report that no single County had a total attendance of over 40,000 the entire Season where as football teams can achieve these gates in one game. Northamptonshire attracted the grand total of 4,173 in their Championship Season.

Big changes are needed by the rhubarb and custard brigade to put bums back on seats. One suggestion would to have a three up three down between the two divisions to make the end of Season much more exciting.

We must also consider making radical changes to the T20 Tournament. Fans are fed up with regional games before we get to the Quarter Finals. My idea is an F.A.Cup style competition where the counties play each other over two legs home and away and the winners combined score taking them into the next round.

This will create great interest and every game weather permitting will play to a full house. Also it would attract the big names such as Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard etc, that we have lost to the Indian and Australian Tournaments.

Getting off my soap box I can see we have some super turf racing today especially at Nottingham and I’m going to put up Howies Hottie in the 2.40. This is a competitive 5 furlong handicap for 3 year olds and the selection is Secret Look from the Ed McMahon stable who do very well with sprinters.

It is interesting to note they have booked the best jockey riding in Ryan Moore and at 7/1 or bigger it should be a decent each way play. We have to take the geldings fitness on trust and we have the Bell and Fahey yards to beat.

EYECATCHERS

Another cracking winner for the Eyecatchers this week with Phebes Wish 11/4 romping in at Dundalk and New Decade at 20/1 at Wolverhampton.

Tsar Paul trainer J.A.Nash – This was last weeks hottie and he finished a good 2nd however I do believe a drop to 6 furlongs is the answer and hope the trainer reads my newsletters.

Temple Road trainer M.Bradley – This horse has been has been an eyecatcher before and again needs to be monitored after not getting a clear passage at Lingfield. He needs holding for a late run and when he gets the rub of the green he will win again.

New Decade Trainer M.Bradley – Previous eyecatcher who romped home at Wolverhampton last week at 20/1. I did not back him as he was drawn in the car park but he still did the business. This gelding is owned by the same guy who owns Temple Road and Blue Jack (previous eyecatcher) and all 3 horses will win again.

Energise trainer T.Carmody – Placed at Dundalk this inmate from the Sir Michael Stoute yard is finding his feet in Ireland and should soon hit the target.

Midnight Feast trainer L.Carter – Found 7 furlongs a shade to far and perhaps a drop in trip will see him take the gold medal.

Taurus Twins trainer R.Price – Looked all over the winner last time out until idling in front. I think with the help of headgear this chap can go very close next time out.

Back next Wednesday have a great week and be lucky.

Just a few short weeks to the Cheltenham Festival and I’m sure we are all looking forward to some wonderful competitive sport from some of the best equine athletes in the jumping game.

I have a couple of bits of advice you should heed; only bet with bookmakers offering a non runner money back guarantee and because of the extreme wet weather conditions that horses have had to endure this Winter don’t take current form at face value as on drier ground form can be turned upside down.

It’s amazing how the world of a jockey can change in the course of a short period. Last week young Josh Moore enjoyed the highlight of his career when he steered Well Regarded to victory in the Haydock Grand National Trial and just the other Saturday at Doncaster his mount Dashing George ducked out and crashed through the rail leaving Josh with a dislocated collar bone and nerve damage.

Dad Gary said it was a serious injury and the lad could be out for some months. These guys risk life and limb in their chosen profession so please lets hear a lot less criticism when they make human errors as we all do from time to time.

It’s one thing having a go at our footballers on film star money but these men of steel deserve our utmost respect even when our money goes astray.

The racing today is just bread and butter but lets hope we can find a little jam with Howies Hottie in the 3.20 at Bangor. This is a 3 mile handicap hurdle and the selection is the Paul Webber trained Sarando.

Now one of the methods I like in winner finding is to look for horses that have a much higher rating over fences than when they run over the smaller obstacles. Well Sarando was rated 153 when he ran in the 2011 Hennessy and today he runs off a mark of just 120.

Paul has said the gelding has been so unlucky with falls and injuries over the last few years but he has slowly been nursing this talented individual back to full health. I have no doubt that this race is a confidence booster before he goes chasing again but he could well take this event on the way to better things.

Did you see Arsenal have declared record profits for the last year and with the money coming in from the Emirates for the stadium name Wenger could have 300 million at his disposal. My guess the board will keep the lot and turn their trophy cabinet into another corporate box.

EYECATCHERS

Quinz trainer P.Hobbs – Ran a cracker in the Racing Post Chase at Kempton after being off for well over a year. It was only lack of fitness that counted against him and he could be a live contender at the Festival or in the National.

Temple Road trainer M Bradley – Down the field when strongly fancied at Lingfield. He pulled far too hard using up so much energy in the early stages and had nothing left at the business end. This was not his true running and after consulting his owner I believe we should all keep the faith as this is an improving gelding.

Blue Jack Trainer S.Williams – This is more a tip than an eyecatcher. This horse could well be one of the best handicapped animals in training. He is in the same ownership as Temple Road and was not allowed to run in last Saturday’s race because of some red tape. Connections will soon be looking for compensation and he could even be one to follow when the turf Season starts.

Amana trainer M.Brisbourne – A very unlucky loser when denied a clear run at Kempton he is primed to strike very soon.

Cardinal trainer R.Cowell – The trainer is no relation to Simon but I’m sure he will find the X factor with this gelding. I noted him staying on at Wolverhampton after a slow start. Might want a fast run race over 5 or even 6 furlongs.

Back next Wednesday have a great week and be lucky.

Howards Racing News

December 19, 2012 By admin Leave a Comment

Yesterday was a sad day for true racing fans with the closure of Folkestone and earlier in the week Hereford. The Kent course has had racing since 1898 and was the only remaining course in the county since the demise of Wye 37 years ago.

With this closure the Garden of England County has no racecourses and no Premier League football teams but at least it still has the wonderful city of Canterbury and the Channel Tunnel.

However it was satisfying to put up a cracking winning bet on the last days racing at Folkestone in the shape of Lord Of House romping in at 13/2 for clients of Bankers Bonus.

Bankers has had a super week with winners including Temple Road, Roman Order, Cantlow, Chookie Hamilton, etc, etc, and not to mention a 17/1 place double.

Also Fold4Gold chipped in this week with a 22/1 forecast. This particular service can be speculative and goes for big hits with Placepots, multiples, forecasts and even Tri-Casts but remember even yesterday with 2 losing forecasts we still found both winners at 12/1 and 5/1.

What I’m trying to impress on you is it’s not just about following a tipster over a cliff but using the info with a little of your own initiative. If Fold4Gold puts up 3 winners in a losing Placepot they are there for clients to take advantage of if they are so inclined.

It works very much in the same way as when I get info from my stable contacts. For example yesterday I was given a very strong word for Pine Creek but the form book and my knowledge said the winner was Lord Of House which proved correct by using as I said my own initiative.

Before I move onto today’s Howies Hottie a quick thank you to trainer Norah McEllistrim for letting me put up Zodiac Zeus as a tip on Fold4Gold this week. Oh I nearly forgot Zodiac Zeus and Lord of House were both free winning tips on the Bankers Bonus Twitter page.

As for today’s Hottie’s I’m going to put up two tips, one banker and one bonus bet. The banker is Temple Road in the 12.00 Lingfield. This lightly raced gelding was an easy winner for us last week at Kempton. I have been in contact with the owner and Darren thinks he is improving with racing. This gelding was bred in the purple by Sheik Mohamed but picked up cheaply by current connections and can hopefully become a birthday winner for his sporting owner.

The bonus bet is Parigino in the 3.10 Lingfield who is trained down in Sussex by Nick Gifford. This horse was more than useful on the flat in France but was bought with a view to send him jumping.

It seems the the gelding was not keen on a National Hunt career and the trainer has reverted to the flat. After a couple of eyecatching runs the gelding should be spot on and with Joe Fanning on top a positive run is anticipated at each way odds.

EYECATCHERS

Ski Sunday trainer T.Vaughan – 2nd behind Stow at Ffos Las this horse has only one eye and would appreciate better ground and a right hand course.

Cantlow trainer P.Webber – Ready winner at Plumpton this gelding is improving with each race and can win again.

Oscatara trainer D.McCain – This was one of our recent eyecatchers and I hope you were on at 7/2 when he won last week. Another improver who can win again.

Waabel trainer Violet M.Jordan – Went off very quickly last time at Lingfield. If the jockey can save some petrol for the business end of the race he can soon hit the target.

Stepturn trainer M Wigham – Led at good pace yesterday at Lingfield before being headed but came again to take the spoils. This Sir Michael Stoute cast off is one to keep in your note book.

Last King of Scotland trainer C.Dore – Ran in the same race as Stepturn finishing strongly into 2nd place.

Pine Creek trainer J.Ferguson – As mentioned above I was given a strong tip for this one yesterday but knowing he would be better for the introduction and prefer better ground I managed to find the winner. This gelding must be followed next time out.

I wish all Readers and their families a Very Merry Christmas.

Back next Wednesday be lucky!
