Monday 16th. Apologies for my late column last week as I just didn’t have time and I’m sure none of you would of wished me to have missed a night out celebrating my victory in order to do my homework, 1000 lines accepted.
Now the Cheltenham dust has settled and after talking to many fellow tipsters what a stunning performance we put up in our Cheltenham special making over 50 points profit for all our followers, roll on next year and hopefully that will kick start my year that has been slower than ideal.
Obviously I would of liked a livelier start, but as you know the flat starts at the end of this month, I have already put two anti post bets out in the Lincoln and I intend killing it again with massive profits again as I did last year.
This week is going to be bit of a nothing week and I can see us treading water, until later on when we have a couple of Hunter Chasers.
Not a great deal happening today but we have a small ew bet on THE ROAD AHEAD at 17/2 and an ew double with the well in SHY JOHN at 10/3.
I have no plans to go racing this week, After my jolly jaunt last week I have an awful lot of catching up to do and I want to go down to Newmarket and get back in the swing of things and catch up with a few contacts.
Sean Bowen certainly earned his riding fee from his father as he never gave up and pushed the reluctant looking THE ROAD AHEAD for the last 2 miles only to not quite get up and get beaten a head on the line. We certainly didn’t have a long drawn out death on SHY JOHN as he fell at the 1st.
The day wasn’t all about ifs and buts as the LATE SERVICE had a good bet on OPTIMISTIC BIAS at 9/4 and he won at an incredible price of 4/1.
The road ahead ew 17/2
Tuesday 17th. Once again the racing is very poor and we have to go across the water to Down Royal for our main bet, he runs in the Hunter Chaser and is MTADA SUPREME who is trading at 9/4. The plan is to go out in front and attempt to make all.
Hopefully we can pop one in the AW at Lingfield later in the week, because if what I was told this morning we have lbs in hand.
MTADA did exactly what we wanted and lead all the way jumped the last in front only to fall in a hole and get caught on the run in. It’s hard enough to regain my enthusiasm this week after last and I certainly don’t need things like this to keep happening.
Wednesday 18th. I need a day out as things are not exactly going to plan this week and I am going stir fry staying at home, so I think a trip into town is needed.
I thought that MASTERFUL ACT won very nicely last time and also in a good time and at even money I back him and also email him out to my ANDY BELLs clients. After speaking to Steve we put THREE FACES WEST out to my ANDY BELLs email.
Against THREE FACES WEST we have a very short priced favourite but our apprentice is going to go out hard and hopefully get the favourite out of his comfort zone and hopefully his jumping will suffer again.
We arrive into town and I plan to have a top up bet on THREE FACES WEST in Corals, well ask somebody to do it for me anyway, I’m gutted to hear the favourite has been withdrawn, maybe our plans had got out and they wanted to swerve the challenge, but at 5/4 without the favourite I still think he is a cracking bet and have a good cash bet on him.
Weatherspoon’s is really full for what is normally a quiet Wednesday afternoon, whatever your personal opinions are about this chain, they certainly know how to do their job and if nothing else they are really good for the towns they serve.
For a horse that jumped so well last time MASTERFUL ACT put in a really poor round and ruin any chance he may ever of had, on the flip side everything went to plan and THREE FACES WEST did exactly as required and lead all the way giving us a really nice winning day, with Paul and I lighting up Weatherspoon’s with our cheering. Shaz for once is very willing to get involved and quickly goes to collect our folding, funny that.
Thursday 19th. I’m getting rather sick of this poor racing, I know there’s a winner in every race but it tends to drive you insane after a while.
Jeremy Scott has a few runners today and Smiley rides ALBEROBELLO who is trading at 10/3 which looks a fair price so I bet and email him out.
ALBEROBELLO never really travels and Smiley just can’t get him interested and he finishes a very poor 3rd.
Friday 20th. Fortunately my LATE SERVICE is still carrying my banner this month with over 50 points profit and a 43% strike rate, thank goodness for that as it’s one step forward and one back for my main service, it WILL change and soon you wait.
Hopefully the strong word I have had for INNER DRIVE can send us into the weekend on a high, he is trading at 5/2 and I know he is going to be backed. Nicky Henderson has the favourite CHAMPAGNE EXPRESS, but on point form INNER DRIVE certainly has the beating of him.
The word I had earlier in the week was for RIO RONALDO who is flying at home and fully expected to go very close today. I back him for my maximum amount and take the 9/4 as I suggest on my email and finally a very small bet in the Hunter chaser on HINTON INDIANA ew at 33/1.
I know that we will have two bets on the aw next week, other than that we have Doncaster at the weekend, YIPPEE, cash come to daddy again the flat is back.
INNER DRIVE certainly had the beating of the favourite as he was twenty lengths back, unfortunately, well for us, Dicky rode like a demon and did us by the shortest of noses on the line, even the camera man thought we had won it.
RIO RONALDO what sort of run and ride was that???? Don’t ask me as I am totally at a loss, all I will say is I shall be having a maximum bet on him next time as today was not his true running, maybe just maybe another jockey will be on board next time, lets see shall we, better not say what I really think or else slander may be mentioned in a few quarters.
HINTON INDIANA may have just got us a place had he not of crashed through the second and third last.
Not a good day at the office today, tomorrow’s another day.
I’m not even going to associate the great man Sir Winston with this weeks shite column.
