Andy Bell’s Racing Diary

March 28, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

Oi Oi The Flat Is Nearly Back.

Saturday 21st. Not a great Saturdays racing, next week will be a different cup of tea as it’s officially the start of the flat with the Lincoln at Doncaster and I shall be there for both days.

Today’s big race is at Newbury and I have had a good word for the 16/1 shot trained by Colin Tizzard, MORELLO ROYAL ridden by Aiden Coleman. He has some decent early season form and is expected to run a huge race today. Finally I am told that RED SPINNER is going to run a well for the resurgent Donald McCain stable and because it appears to be drifting so I back him ew personally and suggest an ew bet at 4/1 to my ANDY BELLs clients.

I think the Rugby will take a lot of peoples center stages today with three cracking matches and hopefully all results will culminate in the English lifting the six nations trophy.

Donald McCain supplied us with a nice winner last week and the vibes I’m getting today surrounding his RED SPINNER are very positive, so I suggest a maximum ew bet via email to my ANDY BELLs clients also on the same email MORELLO ROYAL shouldn’t be out of the mix in the big one at Newbury and at 16/1 he looks a cracking ew price and bet.

RED SPINNERs jumping won us the race and a perfect start to a difficult looking Saturday and what a great sp of 11/2, best odds guaranteed scores again, I hope your all taking advantage of this fantastic concession. I am getting really excited with our second runner MORELLO ROYAL as three out we are bang there and than drops away like a stone, surely there must be something wrong, I will endeavour to find out.

A nice winning day for us and the rugby to look forward to.

England played a cracking match beating the French, unfortunately they gave too many silly points away, which allowed the Irish to finish on top of the table and winning back to back six nations.

MORELLO ROYAL apparently went lame on his near fore, which was a shame as he would of gone very close.

Sunday 22nd. Maybe I may have just got over my Cheltenham excursions with yesterdays nice winner and hopefully I can kick on now and get our year rocking just in time for the flat seasons kickoff next Saturday.

Today’s cards don’t look too bad considering it’s a Sunday, maybe it’s because I have some decent, well I think, information to share amongst us all. My first email consists of two horses that I have backed and also put in a ew double, LOOK FOR LOVE ew at 13/2 and MR WISEMAN ew at 7/1, if these both cop it will not only be a joyous day for me but also for my clients who get these both nice and early as I have a lunch date with a perspective NEW Betfan tipster/recruit today, who has twenty years experience right at the top end of his own business and I think he can bring a great tipping service to the table, if he can be persuaded. It’s always nice to punt along side somebody with a real racing back ground and not with somebody that is doing it part time whilst selling burgers or delivering pizzas.

During our lunch date/drink my street cred is done no harm as MR WISEMAN is smashed in from our 7/1 into 10/3 and bolts up like he was expected to, now the wait for our next and possible double.

I leave the meeting with a spring in my step and a bottle of white in my belly feeling very positive about our days work so far a 7/1 winner and I am pretty sure that “G” will be joining our ranks and if he can tip as well as he did in his last job, a lot of you are in for some fun.

I get to my Fathers for tea to deliver our mothers day flowers to Pauline, I know it;s a week late, but Shaz is a florist and a very good one at that and busy wasn’t the word, it was manic, imagine me helping and delivering trying to be joyous all day with the Cheltenham blues as I was coming back down to earth, so we always do Mothers day the following weekend.

The only LOOK FOR LOVE was from Pauline to Shaz as she presented her with a lovely bouquet as our wretched thing hit three out and faded with the prospects of our lovely ew double. Never mind we can battle on tomorrow in the know that we hit a 7/1 winner today, worse things happen at sea.

Monday 23rd. Busy day and hopefully we can keep up the good work. I back and email out QUITE BY CHANCE as my Newmarket connections are very sweet on his chances and suggest taking the 10/3. Next I add CROSSWAY SPIRIT as a maximum ew bet and take the 7/2. Finally my Hunter Chaser boys firmly put a spanner in the works as they tell me that they are attempting to get their Easter monies on MAKADAMIA, I say spanner in the works because its in the same race as QUITE BY CHANCE that I have already put up. I’m now in a no win situation as theres only five runners and I have huge words for two of them. Do I keep my mouth shut or relay my new information, as usual I bite the bullet and decide to be my usual honest self and email out my new advice and also tell my clients I am personally having a forecast on the pair of them.

Not wishing to leave the LATE SERVICE out we take on the long odds on favourite with an ew bet to nothing with APACHE at 5/1.

I am going to Newmarket to have a 1 pm meeting with a view to hopefully sorting a couple of bets out for this weekend at Doncaster. I really wanted to see a particular gallop this morning, but to be honest after my meeting yesterday lunchtime and a bottle of Pinot and than topped up with the bash at my fathers last night I was hanging like the proverbial bastard at 5am this morning so that particular plan was shelved. Also I have my pal driving me as I think a whaft may just get the head flying again.

Things go really well and I just can’t wait to get out again next week and earn loads again, I’m sick of one step forward and one back, don’t get me wrong I love the jumps big meetings and the festivals, but sometimes the mundane day to day stuff tend to get a tad tedious.

QUITE BY CHANCE kicks our day off perfectly winning easily at a very well backed 2/1 making our 10/3 looking bit of a steal.

All APACHE could do for the LATE SERVICE was chase home the 1/3 favourite but he did put up a fight until two out and finished a clear second, so as we said a bet to nothing.

Next was our two horse race, COSWAY SPIRIT who we had bet ew for a maximum was jumped out to lead, MAKADAMIAs jumping was never quite there and he looked beaten two out, whereas COSWAY SPIRIT jumped for fun and lead all the way with MAKADAMIA second, all be it a distant second, giving us a really nice 7/2 winner, which was returned at 15/8 and MAKADAMIA gave us the forecast which I had also suggested, so in all a great winning result.

Another good winning day which keeps us all happy bunnys.

Tuesday 24th. Yesterday was another winning day for us making it three on the trot now and in doing so we have hit 11/2, 7/1, 10/3 and 7/2 winners in our last seven selections.

A far cry from the decent prices we have been hitting as my first bet and ANDY BELLs email is MIDNIGHT REQUEST who at 4/6 is a cracking price as he looks well in and I have him tissued up at 1/2.

Next I like the last time winner APACHE PILOT who I thought won nicely last time, as I say on my email his cv isn’t great and he needs to be delivered as late as possible, but at 9/2 he looks to be decent place bet at the very least.

Lastly I go to Wolverhampton under duress for our last bet of the day on ANDY BELLs service and punt SUNBLAZER for a maximum ew bet at 4/1.

Just before racing my LATE SERVICE, who is going really well this month and just under 50 points in profit,  is taking on the 1/3 favourite in the first at Hexham CYRUS DARIUS with CAPTAIN HOX who looks a bet to nothing ew as I am told he is going to try and lead all the way, the very short priced favourite looked very good to the eye at Newcastle last time, but it was a very slow time he won in. Finally BON CHIC has been working really well at home and a 9/2 is a must bet for the frame at the very least and should go very close. Last knockings I decide to personally have a cheeky ew double on the pair at 5/1 and 9/2 and advise my LATE SERVICE clients likewise.

Tomorrow we should have something exciting to write about other than the obvious and mundane day to day stuff as I have a day planned out before I head up north on Thursday as I need to have a meeting with a flat contact, he’s not flat himself, you know what I mean, Simon in York on Friday and then YES, Doncaster on Saturday and Sunday Oi Oi.

We are very fortunate at how well MIDNIGHT REQUEST must be handicapped as he never really jumped until the last two or three fences and I hope some of you may of taken some of the 7s in running, I must be honest I wasn’t brave enough to, I am just happy at getting off to a winning start and taking what I said was a good price of 4/6 early doors as he finished up winning at 2/5.

CYRUS DARIUS was in fact to good for our CAPTAIN HOX as the betting suggested, although we did give him a race until two out and were far to good for the rest and finished a clear second to secure our ew bet to nothing.

I am still at a loss how we didn’t even secure a place with APACHE PILOT as he jumped the last in front and i thought he would out stay his rivals, but we were beaten in a all weather like finish and finished a crappy fourth.

Dan Skelton soon had our moods upbeat again, well the LATE SERVICE boys and girls anyway as he rode an ultra confident ride on BON CHIC and won going away at a nice SP of 5/1, now that would of been a cheeky little double if CAPTAIN HOX had managed to have won also at 5/1, never mind a small ew double profit and a good win.

My ANDY BELLs clients still had one to run our maximum ew bet on SUNBLAZER at 4/1 and we did cheer all the way to the line only to get done by the shortest of heads, how annoying is that.

Last knockings I get a call telling me that MAJOR RIDGE will run better than his 20/1 odds suggest, so I put a very small ew bet on the LATE SERVICE at 20/1, only for him to finish fourth.

In all a very annoying day, we have won nicely on the LATE SERVICE with a 5/1 winner, but more annoyingly had a 5/1 second, which also scuppered our ew double and a 20/1 fourth, if only hey??

Wednesday 25th. Very frustrating yesterday, although the LATE SERVICE had a nice winning day, it could of been so much better and poor ANDY BELLs clients started of with a very nice winner, had a 9/2 shot jump the last in front and not even place and a 4/1 maximum who got done bang on the line, that’s racing. We are coming to the boil very nicely just in time for the flat, I can feel it, trust me I’m a doctor.

With not much happening again today and I am gracing the town with my presence I think we have an easy short priced double at Lingfield, which should pay for my X’s today. Firstly the Dave Simcock trained CALLAC and than followed by the Mark Johnson trained WATERSMEET.

We rock up at The Bear and Bells early doors and they are still one of the few pubs that sell Holston Pils and I must say I am rather partial to a dozen or so of them now and again. It’s now obligatory to also shoot a few games of pool with a tenner a game up for grabs, I must say I haven’t even picked up a cue since last time we were in here, I think my table at home is as redundant as Simons todger. Six games later and I am happy with the 5-1 score line thankfully in my favour. I am now on the second wave of Pils and they are warmer so we head to visit Joe up the street, Corals that is to watch our two shorties. Our fate is soon sealed as CALLAC doesn’t pick his feet up and another day is in mind for him, so without my X’s it has to be good old cheap Weatherspoon’s, a couple of quick slurps and again it’s across the road to watch WATERSMEET, I break all my own rules and bet whilst drinking and have a cash bet at evens and this time I watch him bolt in by an easy sixish lengths. Maybe some of my clients did the same, I hope, so with my pool scoop and WATERSMEET that’s my day paid for and the curry for home later, that’s if I make it because the Swan has just been suggested and if we get in there it’s good night nurse. Luckily I had only endured the pleasures of the Swan for a short while before my Gitty arrived to chaperone me home.

Thursday 24th.Once again the racing is very mediocre and the influx of the overnight rain hasn’t helped things at all. We were hoping to have a maximum win bet in the Ffos Las Hunter Chaser, but with the heavy ground we are not willing to risk it, but watch how SWEET LIKE YOU runs as it was her. Newbury’s last jumps meeting of the season is the best on offer today and i email out a Tom Cannon ridden pair, firstly REMILUC at 15/8 and in the next race WESTAWAY at 7/2. Again nothing comes through for the LATE SERVICE but I did say it was going to be quality over quantity and the good profits are showing this to be the correct decision.

Tickets for tomorrow’s rattler booked so look out York tomorrow night as Bellie Boys back in town and it seems ages since I graced it with my ample presence.

If conditions had of been suitable how far would SWEET LIKE YOU of won by, in the terrible conditions today she was only beaten by a length, my contact Steve is convinced with the ground just soft she would of won by over ten lengths.

REMILUC looks all over the winner and trades very short in running as he takes it up two out and doesn’t really find a great deal on the very soft Newbury ground and finishes second. WESTAWAY also looks like winning as he is cruising along and than has an awful fall three out and is unfortunately is fatally injured. Not a good day at the office three fences out we looked like copping two winners and ultimately got sweet F.A.

Friday 25th. A losing day yesterday, but I don’t feel out of form and can’t wait until Doncaster kicks off tomorrow. It was nice to see our 16/1 anti-post MOORHARIB  Lincoln bet make the cut, so we already have him to look forward to tomorrow.

I am catching the 10-12 rattler to York today to meet Simon and do some book promotions as its been selling really well and we want to push on now before it goes into Waterstones and getting ready for the big kick off at Donny tomorrow.

Busy, busy today loads of information coming in and we need to try and make hay while we can. Firstly for my ANDY BELLs clients I suggest a big win bet on HAVE YOU HAD YOURS as I think there was more in the tank when he finished third last time and the 7/4 looks very fair. Oh no here we go again can you believe two horses in the same race AGAIN although this time there are nine runners so as I have I advise backing both DARK DUNE and EMRAL SILK ew and also a RFC on the two. Finally in the lucky last I think that PURPLE HARRY 9/2 is a maximum ew bet at the very least.

Last knockings I also get the nod on two of George Moores in the first and second at Wetherby BENTONES LAD ew at 5/1 and COWSLIP also ew at 5/1 and I also put them in another cheeky ew double, as I’ve hit the pockets of my ANDY BELLs clients already today I decide to pop these on the LATE SERVICE.

Oh I nearly forgot, Omg I have some unwanted admirers which are normally not a problem as I don’t like turning anyone away, but when your’ve got a firm of leeches bumming off you and using your hard work to their benefit and farming it out it does tend to nip a shade, I will help anybody, but I suppose you get users and chancers in all walks of life, but it doesn’t worry me because they will soon fall by the wayside as they all do and then rise again under a new alias from another Cayman Island hideaway.

Anyway Oi oi another great day HAVE YOU HAD YOURS gets us off to the best possible start and wins at 2/1, George’s BENTONES LAD flatters to deceive and fades away tamely and than another oi oi as COWSLIP wins nicely at our super price of 5/1 and returns a well backed 3/1 giving my LATE boys and girls a cracking winning day. I really thought EMRIL SILK was going to win jumping the last but just got nutted on the line getting us our 5/1 ew money and the forecast went down the drain, maybe a step too far, but, Hey, as the great man says “he who dares wins Rodney” and so it proves our 9/2 shot PURPLE HARRY in the last, leads all the way under a super confident ride from Nico and seals a great winning day for both my services and my pet leeches lol lol.

Well see you all at Donny tomorrow I will be the one propping up the bar hopefully after two winners and a Lincoln place at least.

As Mr W would of said to my new found admirers ”
