Sunday 5th. Oi Oi fours days into April and four winning ones and yesterday could of been so much better, with a bit of luck, well I think luck is the wrong word as skill or horsemanship is closer to the mark. I was totally wrapped up with the fact the Sean Bowen needed one more Handicap Chase winner to qualify him to ride for Paul Nicholls in next weeks Grand National, so I was all over his mount VIRAK at 4/1, so much so I didn’t only put him up to my ANDY BELLs clients I also advised the LATE SERVICE likewise, although I did say that this relatively unknown fact wouldn’t make VIRAK run any quicker, but in my opinion he would be cherry ripe with no stone unturned. Anyway back to horsemanship, on my earlier email I had advised all my ANDY BELLs clients to back Smiley ew on GAELIC ICE at 5/1, VIRAK at 4/1 and “yes” all my clients know what’s coming, RATIMAN ew at 20/1 and also put the three of them in an ew trixie. As we know Smiley got us a place on GAELIC ICE at 5/1 VIRAK not only secured us a 4/1 winner, but Sean Bowens national ride, than RAKIMAN and Samatha Drake jumped the last three clear only to get caught bang on the line by SOUTHFIELD VIC when given one of the rides of the year by, yes, SEAN BOWEN. What a bitter sweet day, a great winning one, but imagine x all our winnings by about another 25 times, Mmmmmm how nice would that of been.
Monday 6th. Hope you all had a nice Easter Day yesterday hopefully I helped my ANDY BELL’s clients as we had our fifth winning day on the trot and cemented our position at the top of the BetFan tree, with over 50 points profit. Let’s hope with the plethora of racing today, nine meetings in all we don’t get bogged down and can continue in great form and on our great run.
In the first at Fakenham I call Tom and ask him to get me a nice ew bet on BARNEYS HONOUR as I have him tissued up at 4/1 and he is readily trading at 8/1, I also email out this Andy Turnell runner to my ANDY BELL’s clients. After Liam gives me the nod on SIGNED REQUEST I also back and email him out also as an ew bet at 11/2. Also I think that its highly unlikely that Evan Williams has travelled across from Wales for nothing with his KING MASSINI so I suggest taking the 13/8 on him and finally I finish my and our day off with another Evan Williams runner this time at Huntingdon who only has the Nicky Henderson favourite to beat in my opinion JOHN CONSTABLE at 6/4.
Bank Holiday Monday and I was intending on heading across to Huntingdon, but as we have four various bets at Fakenham I decide on going there, with the added bonus it’s not freezing cold.
Steve is a shade late with his input today as he was jollying it up all yesterday due to his birthday, it must nearly be a free bus pass now old boy heheheh and he like the two favourites in the Hunter chasers at Fakenham, so as the time is now marching on I email out CAN MESTRET and MOROMAN both to my LATE SERVICE and suggest a greedy win double.
Not a great journey to Fakenham as we have caravans everywhere to content with and as there is only enough room on the road for a pony and trap and a bicycle over taking is a no brainer.
Thankfully we arrive just in time to see BARNEYS HONOUR ridden very well by the 7lb claimer Miss Hampson bolt in at a very well backed 4/1 getting our day off to another super start as we had hovered up the early price of 8/1 this morning. I drift into my grandmas living room, better known as the owners and trainers bar to watch SIGNED REQUEST win by a head and once again I can hardly believe what is happening again as we have quick fire 8/1 and 11/2 winners. Our local trainer from Thetford Dave Kemp just stops the party a shade by beating our CAN MESTRET into second on his owned, trained and ridden ?? sorry Dave cant remember and too busy to look it up, but you can make amends by ridding your MOROMAN to victory in the second hunter.
It’s KING MASSINI’s turn now and he looks lovely in the paddock, but that’s where it ended as he jumped like the proverbial pig all round and left a hole in the fence four from home looking like Cyril Smith had walked through it and bags us another second.
JOHN CONSTABLE shows us what he had been showing at home and wins very nicely, even though he missed three or four jumps, giving us three winners out of four and a second on the day, pity I didn’t advise us to do a nice ew trixie or ew lucky 15, hindsight hey!!!!
Dave Kemp gives my LATE SERVICE a winner in the last Hunter Chaser with his MOROMAN who lead all the way giving him a double at his local track.
Even the slow moving caravans wont spoil the journey home as we have hit three more winners and made another cracking profit.
As I’ve missed all the Easter Monday parties I decide to stop at the poshy Dunston Hall on the way home as I’ve arranged to meet my Shaz for a couple and hopefully a nice steak. As we just uncork the first bottle of white, I get a call telling me I must back AN DEARG MOR at Fairyhouse tomorrow and taking the 7/4 is a must as they think he will be backed into odds on, luckily I have the internet so I email him out to my ANDY BELLs clients advising them to reinvest a maximum amount of their today’s winnings and taking the 7/4 on offer a must.
Luckily Fakenham was very kind to me today and not wanting the Greedy 1s cash to burn a hole in my pocket, which it never does and shouldn’t your own either, we ordered our third bottle of white and booked a nice room for the night.
Tuesday 7th. When things are going well in this game its absolutely unbeatable, sitting being waited on looking over the lake and golf course eating our breakfasts after another brilliant winning day making it six on the trot for us all now, with three out of my four selections winning yesterday at 8/1, 11/2 and 6/4 with our fourth second at 13/8. We are now well clear at the top of the table with over 77 points profit and hitting over 50% winners and also over a 100% return on investment.
Luckily before the grey mist had descended last night, ok the wine, my one remaining brain cell kicked in and I emailed out today’s Maximum bet at Fairyhouse AN DEARG MOR advising taking the 7/4 as a must because the best on offer now is 11/8 and its tight at that.
My whole week is now aimed at Aintree and I am now really getting the tingles and up for it big time.
I also had three bets on my LATE SERVICE with SALIENT winning at 9/2 which gave us a small winning day. AN DEARG MOR wins very nicely for us and the win was made even better by the very well fancied and touted Gordon Elliott horse finishing second.
Wednesday 8th. Oi oi the straight seven successfully completed yesterday, ever day a winning one for a whole week, making a very impressive 82 points profit and still maintaining over a 50% strike rate.
As I’m doing my geek impression today and not moving from my computer or piles of form books because all roads are now firmly leading to Aintree and MY special, which was the prize for beating the Don like at dog with our Cheltenham challenge, so I’m not going to be writing a great deal I’m afraid.
I gave three selections today to my ANDY BELL’s clients and just the one to my LATE SERVICE today.
Although not earth shattering for ANDYs clients we hit one winner and made a small profit on the day, I shouldn’t mock it as in January I would of killed on some days for a small profit, better stuff for the LATE SERVICE as their only bet YOURARTISONFIRE took it up two furlongs out and never looked like getting caught and we collected at my advised price of 7/2.
Another nice winning day for both my services.
Thursday 9th. Yes, yes, yes EIGHT winning days on the trot and it’s day one of Aintree. My whole day is going to evolve around CALL THE COPS at 6/1 who won so well at Cheltenham and I think that he has got to have a huge chance, I’m not even going to back him ew as Cheltenham can sometimes have a lasting effect however easy the win appeared to look, so it’s whole duck or no dinner for me today and I’m going to be gobbling up the 6/1 early price. I’m not gracing Aintree with my presence this year, but I can tell you a funny story which occurred four years ago today, me and my friend Graham had both acquired RCA badges and as you know Aintree has a very strict entry policy with no metal badges, you have to pre order, anyway we were very lucky in the fact that we knew the gateman and he ushered us through, the gentleman behind us was stopped and refused entry, because of his metal badge, as the commotion escalated behind us, I saw it was the great man himself Donald McCain who at this point was even redder than normal and his language wasn’t for nunneries at the best of times and when he shouted do you f**k**g know who I am and my f**k**g horses ashes are buried on the line we thought it was time to quick exit and mingle into the crowd.
We are having a boys day out in town today and hopefully Joe can pay the expenses again as I’m going armed with a load of folding.
It’s now official SILVINIACO is not a Cheltenham horse as he put in a faultless round of jumping in and just held on to win the Betfred Chase and give us our first winner of the day.
My day soon took a turn for the worse as I emptied my pockets and sent The Machine across the road to back CALL THE COPS who we now know traveled like the winner and just got done in the last 100 yards and beaten by a head, gutted or what, taxi home goodnight and bye.
Friday 10th. We endured our first losing day of the month yesterday and it’s not to be prescribed as I didn’t enjoy it one little bit and my aspirations of collecting 10 large also went down the drain by a head.
Another day another dollar as they say, we have to pick our selves up after a set back and battle on.
A very busy day today making up for yesterday.
Will fill you in next week how we got on.
CAN WE GET THE WINNER OF THE NATIONAL AGAIN TOMORROW LIKE WE DID LAST YEAR?
Back next Saturday.
