Saturday 16th. I’m off to Newmarket today and we have two bets lined up there and both are trained in the town. But before I get there I am going to Carrow Road to watch probably the most important local derby ever. We “Norwich” got a draw at the Scums Portman Road last week and it’s now time to show them who really are the bosses at Carrow Road.
The Marco Botti trained BRAVO ZOLO is my first advice of the day 6/1 ew and finally my strongest and a near maximum in the last is Roger Varion’s DOUBLE UP at 5/2 who has been reportedly eating up the gallops in the last couple of weeks.
My father and I rock up at the directors box just before 12-00 and a large Gin and Tonic is immediately thrust my way and a Scotch my fathers. We settle down to watch and I’m surprised, not pleasantly I hasten to add at how well the Scum have started and their spoiling tactics are working a treat and Norwich are having trouble playing proper football. Half time and it’s goalless, Norwich really need to kick on second half as things could get a tad touchy unless they can stamp their authority on the game. I get a couple of glances as I name sure the tv in the box is switched on so I can also watch the racing. The perfect start as Ipswich are forced to stop a goal with a handball on the line and we have a penalty and they have ten men.
Oi oi 1-0 and against ten men you could be forgiven for thinking it’s game over. Norwich’s defending is shocking and all of a sudden it’s 1-1. Thankfully that was all Ipswich had to offer as Norwich go 2-1 and 3-1 up and cruise to victory and it could of very easily been 5-1. It’s now Wembley next week and look out Middlesborough the Canaries are on a roll. A quick couple of beers in the Gunn club and than the forty five minute hop across to Newmarket. We arrive just in time to see the Richard Hannon TUPI being lead in with LATHARNACH behind him which doesn’t bode well for us as our BRAVE ZOLO has finished fourth.
We had a great winning week last week making well over 100 points profit between my services, unfortunately I was too busy to get my column in and got my wrists slapped, but hey ho worse things happen at war and the hangovers were much more painful and now our good weeks work can only continue with the hot information I have received on DOUBLE UP in the last.
Mr Bailey and his crew are up the corner and I also inform them of my tip and they all back him and for decent money as well. We all share a bottle of wine and in no time it’s us up. Coming into the dip William Buick only needs to give the reins the gentlest of shakes and it’s game over as he bolts in by fourish lengths giving us another winning day and securing me a favor with the boys up the corner in the process.
In all a super, super day the Canaries are heading to Wembley and we have hit another winning day.
Sunday 17th. A great day yesterday winners, profits and we sent the scum packing, Wembley here we come. I got my tickets for next Monday to watch the match and then found out there’s a rail strike, gutted or what, lets hope they rearrange their day for us, as if lol.
It’s relatively quiet today but I have had a good word for the Dan Skelton trained DYNAMO who had excuses for his last two defeats, at Plumpton he smashed the third last fence and nearly fell and at Sedgefield next time the ground went against him, so Sent by Andy Bell’s iPad .
As there’s no signal I don’t know the bad news that DYNAMO has been beaten by the favourite, but saying that we have had five or six winning days on the trot.
Monday 18th. Nothing is coming through, nothing stands out on my prices or figures so it has to be a no bet day for us, although the racing is pretty poor I must say so it doesn’t concern me a great deal.
Tuesday 19th. I have a day planned out with the lads and hopefully I can win us all a few beer tokens in the process. I get a very strong early word for the Hughie Morrison trained MAJOR MAC and Hughsey is an eye catching booking. He is trading at 7/4 which I suggest taking as I know he will be well punted. I always get very excited when I get a call from the good Doctors stable and today I am told I must back his relatively new recruit GRAN MASTRO, finally on my email and to my ANDY BELLs clients I add the very consistent Micheal Scudamore trained SHADES OF SILVER ridden by Jim Crowley ew at 13/2.
As soon as we get to Weatherspoon’s I send Paul across the road with an ew trixie on the three that I have emailed out, he adds to it for himself and we settle down for the day.
Just an hour before racing I am told that the Newbury sixth last time out ANOTHER BOY is very well fancied and as I also say on my LATE clients email this is made stronger by the fact that I have two negatives for fancied horses and nothing unraced is being backed, so I suggest a maximum bet at 15/8. Paul also quickly pops across the road and puts us a £400 on him although we only get 13/8 from the meanies.
Entering the final furlong it is already obvious the LATE service has hit another winner as ANOTHER BOY takes it up relatively easy and is the perfect start to the day. We quickly draw our winnings and these bookies are very sneaky making you wait for the weigh in hoping you will shove some of you winnings back over the counter, but that old trick doesn’t wash with us.
No bubbly today but we already have a crew willing to bet, which is always dangerous as most are very fickle and a loser is often the end of the world. Which happens very shortly afterwards as Hughsey attempts to lead all the way on MAJOR MAC and cant quite do it and is beaten by the 20/1 rag and in the process logs us another second, for anybody who watched the race how bazaar was the running and riding of the Jose Santos horse IDLE TALKER one to watch and notebook in my opinion.
That’s my ew trixie virtually scuppered with a second, probably monies back at best now. As its’ the good doctors next we invest £600 of our earlier winnings at 6/4 and gosh am I pleased he isn’t allowed to run as he defiantly didn’t look right, bravo Mr Vet the withdrew him.
With profits still thankfully intact we just have SHADES OF SILVER to run and again the 13/2 we got early doors is like the brides knickers “long gone” and we have £150 ew at 5/1 bet to nothing in my opinion as he is so consistent and so do the now three remaining stalwarts, not £150 ew whatever they stake.
Oi oi the noise pollution starts a full furlong out as Jim Crowley is swinging and thankfully when the question is asked he scoots clear and wins very nicely to our delight and Miss Moody behind the ramp, anyone would think its her money.
Another really nice winning day and we have more than enough beer tokens to make our heads spin in the morning.
Wednesday 20th. It’s the boring trek on the A12 and M25 junction 6 to Lingfield for me today. Although at present I have nothing to back there it will be good to catch up with a couple of contacts and hopefully learn something whilst down there.
Today I am very sweet on two HATTON SPRINGS ew at 7/1 and the Andrew Balding trained SMILING STRANGER at 10/3 who runs at Kempton tonight, with both these safely emailed out I can now relax a little and meet a few faces.
We get a shock in the first at Lingfield as the Willy old John Egan steers the 33/1 shot LEAH FREYA home easily by seven lengths. The queues are slightly longer in the next as the second favourite wins and than the punters finally get a favourite to oblige.
I get the go ahead on one we have been waiting for at Southwell tonight the Mark Tompkins trained BAND OF THUNDER who is very well fancied indeed, coupled with the huge negative surrounding the favourite who has never won left handed, I steam in with my maximum bet and also advise my LATE service clients to do likewise at 3/1.
HATTON SPRINGS runs a great race and finishes second making us a small profit, these seconds are once again getting to me a bit.
We than get a winner from trainer Jose Santos, who to be honest I don’t know a great deal about and than the last three races were very difficult for anyone to find with 12/1, 8/1 and 10/1 winners.
Although we haven’t had a bet at Lingfield I have two horses for next week conditions allowing which are expected to go very close.
I just get home just in time to watch SMILING STRANGER run and could be forgiven for thinking that we have nicked the race with a good front ride from young Oisin Murphy only to get caught in the last few strides by the strong finishing MAJEED posting another second for us.
Unfortunately our day doesn’t finish with a bang as BAND OF THUNDER never really looks like winning and trails in a well beaten fourth, I just wonder whether with seven jumps down the back straight missing due to the sun played against us as we had a shock winner 20/1 who cant jump and second 18/1 or am I looking for excuses Mmmmm, I will find out tomorrow.
Thursday 21st. Not a great day for us yesterday with two seconds and a fourth, but we are still having a very good month with both my services combined being 75ish points in profit, with the LATE service leading the way with nearly sixty points profit so far this month and hitting a very exceptable 42% strike rate.
Look at the Mark Tompkins website regarding last nights running of BAND OF THUNDER where he says it was a joke and the BHA needs to look at the situation and he agrees with my views which I posted last night, all I will say is why not pull him out??
FIFTYSHADESOFGREY is my first up to and I urge my ANDY BELL’s clients to take the 5/2 as we have missed the 3’s.
Not normally my type of race an apprentice stakes but I get such a strong word for the last time winner LEAD A MERRY DANCE, who the shrewd Kirk setup think they have a little bit more in hand and under the cable hands of an apprentice who is making a name for himself Edward Greatrex. I text my punters to get me on and email her out to my LATE service.
I have spoken to Paul this morning who is once again in town and attempts to get himself £200 win on FIFTYSHADESOFGREY at 5/2 and Corals knock him back to £50 at 5/2 and £50 at sp, lol lol how pathetic is that for a multi million pound company. I used to get very angry at being continually knocked back but now you just have to bite your lip and think of a way round it. As I said to Paul there are loads of willing little soldiers in Weatherspoon’s who are more than willing to be of help.
We had to sit and suffer coming into the last furlong as Pat Cosgrove has no where to go on FIFTYSHADESOFGREY, but as soon as it appears there is only one winner and a really nice sp of 11/4 and a good start to another tricky looking day and a possibility of a really nice ew double if GALVAR can oblige in the next.
I think we should of been a bit closer on GAVLAR as the winner FITZWILLY was well beaten by us last time, so maybe Jim Crowley was rather cautious and was finishing very strongly to get us a place, a little bit of a bad taste left but that’s racing as we had a really nice double and i feel 50ish points may have gone begging.
We have had a good day up until now and it’s young Edwards two minutes in the lime light and he doesn’t let us down always having her nicely placed and kicking on at the furlong post for a nice and easy win rounding off a perfect winning day for both of my services.
Friday 22nd. Haha he who laughs last laughs longest as eight people went across the road and backed LEAD A MERRY DANCE for smaller amounts yesterday evening and it wasn’t picked up, brilliant.
I told you don’t get angry get even.
These little winners will never cut any ice in the Betfan ranks nowadays as these super new systems keep appearing we have had two in the last couple of weeks alone, fantastic eights are now top with over 380 points profit and super tips with over 320 points profit, I don’t know how they do it because I haven’t in fifteen years of professional gambling, I suppose time will tell if they keep it up or more likely we will see a decline in the next couple of months, I will watch with interest, I suggest you do as well.
It’s warming up nicely today and I don’t mean the weather either, I have already emailed out the Ed Walker trained GHALIB at 9/4 who carries lots of stable confidence behind him today and I have just added John Gosdens MR SIGNH 3/1 who we backed when Frankie won very cosily on him last time. I did just sneak in the 13/2 shot of David O’Meara’s ALL YOU ew as I am a little concerned about his tendency to hang left, but I’m told he is working really nicely.
That’s about it for this week all my services are thankfully in profit for the month and year, thanks to the flat again, but I’m afraid I’m unable to hit these heady heights of these new 300+ point a month services, but I will still be tipping and writing the same crap next year lets see if they are still with us.
Keep smiling and if your planning on rocking up at the races get in touch.
Back next Saturday.
