Betting Opportunity Eye-Catchers

July 29, 2015 By admin Leave a Comment

One of the most interesting things I have heard this week is that Sky have bid £40 million for a new city based Twenty 20 competition. I believe they are in talks with the English and Welsh cricket board regarding broadcasting the tournament.

Eight cities would compete with say Surrey and Middlesex playing as London and say Sussex and Hampshire competing as the South Coast plus teams from the Midlands and the North of the country making up the participants.

The matches would be played at the big Test venues around the country with most of the games televised. It would not effect the smaller County grounds as they would all receive considerable revenue which is much needed.

The current domestic T20 tournament would still be played but earlier in the season. I for one think this would be a great boost to counties who at the moment struggle financially.

Mind you it’s hardly surprising when you get less than 500 turn up to watch a county game at Trent Bridge or Edgbaston when the weather is inclement.

Our County game needs changing very much along the lines in football when the old first division became the Premier League to give it that more sexy look.

Well its been a cracking week for Betting Opportunity with a 16/1 winner and quickly followed by a 35/1 winning double. Do you remember at the start of the Month I said it’s not a bad idea to join a service after they have had a dodgy period as sometimes reverse logic does work.

Also it was great to land last weeks Howies Hottie with Burren View Lady at a juicy 16/1 as I get far more satisfaction striking with a big price winner and find it amusing when other tipsters crow on about their short priced winners.

It’s just common sense as you see betting at level stakes at 16/1 I can afford a string of losers and still be in profit while the tipster who has a 3/1 winner is in trouble as soon as he has a couple of losers.

It was also very satisfying that Burren View Lady was another winner for my very successful eye-catchers.

Todays tip goes in the 4.55 Goodwood and is the Mick Channon trained Nancy From Nairobi. This is a 9 furlong handicap for fillies and we will have Richard Hughes on top in his final week as a jockey.

It’s an intermediate trip and I do like horses that have won over further than a mile as you know they will stay the extra furlong. Nancy meets this criteria and hopefully she can give Hughsie a flying send off and at a good price for us punters.

EYE-CATCHERS

FLAT RACING

Top Tug trainer Sir M.Stoute – Never got a clear passage yesterday at Goodwood but stayed on strongly and will appreciate a step up in distance.

Withernsea trainer R.Fahey – Noted staying on after not getting the run of the race at York.

Intense Style trainer L.Eyre – Ran in the same race as Withernsea but faded out of contention however he has taken time to adjust since coming over from Ireland.

Cry Fury trainer Sophie Leech – Well handicapped but perhaps didn’t quite see out the trip at Newbury.

The Ducking Stool trainer Julia Fielden – Placed in Cry Furys race this consistent sort should be followed especially at Yarmouth.

Mutamid trainer I.Mohammed – Ran well at Lingfield and could be an improver.

Major Rowan trainer B.Smart – Never quite saw out 12 furlongs on the fibresand and a shorter journey looks the answer.

Back next Wednesday have a good week and be lucky.

Howard Davis-Shaw.
