It’s Bet Victor Gold Cup day the richest race run outside the Festival at Cheltenham and as always a Stellar Field has turned up and as always by day 2 plenty of Stella has been drunk (and that’s just by BetFan Tipsters).

More of That heads the betting here but the way Jonjo’s horses ran here yesterday you have to make a serious leap of faith if you want to back one of his. Eastlake who may well mysteriously return to form at Aintree next year having slipped down the weights barely made it half way round and several others looked unfit. Now More of That may well have done more work than any other horse in his yard but it’s a real leap of faith. I can’t have him plus he looked a little ponderous as a novice and this may all happen too quick for him.

Buywise is a fascinating contender and made a pleasing reappearance over hurdles I can see him running a Major race and lets not forget Annacotty who comes alive at this place but has a herculean task at the weights.

Paul Nicholls has a very strong hand with recent Chepstow scorer Art Maresque and improving As de Me who has been walloped in the Ante Post Betting. But I have no hesitation in tipping the horse I believe will win this and go on to be a top chaser and that is Frodon. Nicholls is a master at pitching in young horses where others wouldn’t if he feels he has the right one and Frodon sneaks in at the bottom of the weights. He was seriously impressive at Wincanton dispatching some high quality novice chasers with ease and those of us who were on at big prices for this race began to get excited. The connections feel the hurly burly of this race and likely fast pace will be fine and he has the pace to get a position and then pounce up the hill. If he is as good as they think he is we just might see something special today. Bet Victor are going 9/1 this morning which looks mega generous.

The Simon Holden Racing Club made a nice profit on day 1 and we are set for some big gambles today, join now and be part of it.
