Celtic Can Win In The Champions League
The World Cup finished just over a week ago but for the Champions League has already begun. Football is now a 12 month sport and England have a match in September. They play Spain at Wembley Stadium in the new UEFA Nations League which replaces international friendlies. CELTIC are Britain’s only representatives in the Champions League this week in the first leg of the second qualifying round. The champions of Scotland are 3/10 with William Hill to beat Rosenborg at Celtic Park on Wednesday night.
Francesco Molinari is the first player from Italy to win a major championship. He won the Open at Carnoustie on Sunday and now it’s the older generation who play for their version of the Claret Jug. The Senior Open is special because this year it is being played on the Old Course at St. Andrews which is known as the Home of Golf. BERNHARD LANGER made the cut in the main Open and he will probably be the favourite to win the equivalent championship for golfers aged 50 and over. MOLINARI is 25/1 with Ladbrokes to win the USPGA Championship.
The King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Stakes is a Group 1 race at Ascot over one mile and four furlongs that is the all-aged mid-season championship. Three-year-olds and fillies receive allowances from the older and male horses and Enable took advantage of the one stone weight advantage by winning the race by four and a half lengths last year. FOREVER TOGETHER won the Oaks this season and gets both allowances and the horse can be backed at 20/1 with Betfair to win the King George.
The Tour de France ends in Paris on Sunday. The streets will be packed for the ceremonial stage that ends in the Champs-Elysees and it will be a celebration for the country that won the World Cup. However, it looks like Team Sky will win the race again and that won’t go down well with the locals. Geraint Thomas leads the General Classification but CHRIS FROOME is just one minutes and 39 seconds adrift in second place and is 11/8 with Paddy Power to win the Tour for the fifth time.
