Today’s Sports Betting Preview – By Rick Elliott

February 25, 2018 By admin Leave a Comment

A Big Day For Manchester Football

While Arsenal and Manchester City are contesting the EFL Cup Final at Wembley today Manchester United and Chelsea are fighting over the scraps of Champions League qualification at Old Trafford. Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte are not best of mates but today they must deliver and get the right results for their clubs. This is the type of fixture Mourinho wins by the odd goal and it’s 7/1 with Betfair with that the correct score is ONE-NIL TO UNITED which would mean much more than three points.

You can expect a tight encounter in this crunch fixture. Seven of the last eight meets have produced less than three goals. Both teams have not found the net in United’s last 112 matches and that is a lot to do with the form of David De Gea, the best goalkeeper in the world. Mourinho does not send his team out with great ambition in this type of match so it could be a cagey affair settled by one goal which UNITED can score and justify odds of 7/5 with bet365 to win the match.

The statistics and trends suggest both teams will score at Wembley, there will be more than one goal and City lift the trophy. If Arsene Wenger wins his first League Cup with Arsenal three becomes two and City can only achieve a double when a quadruple was on the cards not long ago. Despite being 27 points off the pace in the Premier League ARSENAL can cause an upset and win the EFL Cup at 2/1 with William Hill.

Southwell stages a rare jumps fixture today and the track is better known for All-Weather racing. If Fontwell has failed an inspection it will be the only track offering racing in Britain today but there is also jumps action at Naas in Ireland. There is about four times as much prize money at Naas than Southwell as Sunday racing continues to be poor quality on the mainland. Over at Naas (2.40pm) SUTTON MANOR has a manageable mark and can oblige at 4/1 with Ladbrokes.

Best Wishes,
