MATR The Haydock Plan

September 4, 2013 By admin Leave a Comment

Over the last couple of weeks you’ll have read me rambling on about festival betting, the importance of sifting through information and general tales from the world of getting bets down. Today sees the start of the mini festival held at Haydock. Not the type of Group races we’ve witnessed the last few months but some good racing fare for us to get our teeth stuck into. Staged over 3 days with a really good card on Saturday and a Group 1 race as the feature, the Sprint Cup. If you look closely you’ll notice that Betfred has sponsored not only the event but every single race on each day. He does love a good bit of sponsorship old Fred Done.

Anyway I digress. I have spent all of this week contacting various contacts and sorting the wheat from the chaff. I’ve studied every horse that has been given to me and even gone down to sectional timings to find the best bets for each day. This is one of the requirements when betting at a festival. There is so much media hype surrounding certain horses that people forget to look at the rest of the field and what could pose a danger. Another trick is to think like a trainer. Remember they earn their money by winning prize money for the owners. If they never won any races they wouldn’t have a customer base. Does the horse need the run or are they happy if it comes 4th? Remember a lot of races the connections will get some prize money for 4th unlike us punters!

There are so many variables that we need to consider but if we spend a week before the festival starting to go through each race we at least get a head start. The night before when we’re certain what is running and the weather forecast looks to remain the same we can then start to work out what we’ll be betting on. I’ve done this for today and I’ll be playing in four races. I’ve got my separate bank set aside and day one will see me comfortably bet those four races knowing that if it does go tits up I’ve got enough money to cover the remaining two days.

Remember as you read this you still have time to jump on board MATR Haydock special and you can even get the tips for free if you simply sign up at this link. You’ll also have free money to play with as you’ll get free bets matched! My subscribers will tell you, we bet on the top end of the market from bets I acquire from some of the best contacts in the industry and we have never had a losing month in 14 months now. Hop on board it could be the best thing you ever do with your betting!
